Happy Birthday Mom & Lewis Carroll
Jan. 27th, 2014 09:59 pmI still think it's cool that she shares her birthday with the author who gave us "Alice In Wonderland." There wasn't much in the way of celebration, admittedly -- I gave her her card and present -- a fish pin I'd found in a local antique place while out shopping with dad -- they went out to see a movie (American Hustle, which they ended up hating, sadly), and we had lobster salad sandwiches for dinner with chips. So very low-key, but hey, still nice.
While they were watching their movie, I decided to watch one of my own -- I checked out the first half of the adaptation of Going Postal. And -- it's not BAD, but -- I really think I would have enjoyed it more if I HADN'T read the book.
( Where I ramble on about how the book is better )
Your daily DragonVale update -- I've hatched a Mine dragon, Jimmy (came with that name, I found it hilarious and decided to keep it), a Swamp dragon, which is of course named Errol after the lead swamp dragon from Guards! Guards! and a Rust dragon, which came with the blindingly-obvious Rusty name but which I renamed Carnival after one of my favorite Poets Of The Fall songs. I also got an Ash, Pollen, and Fog from breeding attempts -- I've sold the Ash, and I'll be selling the other two once they're done. Currently I've got Doc and Misty making either another Fog or a Rain, and Tidepool and Elsa making either an Ice or an Iceberg. I've also gotten the "Hungry Hungry Dragons" Goal and now have a fleet of upgraded treat farms, and I've made Level 20. Still trying to figure out how I should set up my islands, what should go where. . . I might be making more lists in the future. Only other thing of note I've been doing is racing, which is being very heavy on the food and XP prizes. Meh.
Ah well. Life goes on, and I have to be up fairly early tomorrow as my dad has a dentist appointment and all that jazz. I will see you all tomorrow!
