Progressed to the "Throat Wad" Stage
May. 22nd, 2014 07:05 pmWhich I have so named because it feels like there's a wad of ick clogging the back of my throat. Which means today has been all about coughing periodically. And the occasional nose blow. Damn, I want this stupid cold to be over with.
My parents had fairly rough days, and I had an okay-though-rather-boring one (again, rather ahead of my classmates in pretty much everything), so let me try and focus on some of the better stuff:
-->There's a cute family of Canadian geese living in the pond in front of the Lincoln CCRI campus. I'm not fond of the geese in general -- getting from the bus stop to the main entrance involves dodging a ton of goose shit -- but the goslings are cute, at least.
-->Another win/loss day in Hearthstone -- I'm back on Valeera at the moment thanks to one of my quests being "five wins with Druid or Rogue." Got creamed by a Priest, but managed to cream a Mage in return.
-->Jabber and Wocky aren't giving me anything interesting, but I did get a Dungeon dragon from Jabber and Lavawing. Came with the name Cinder, but I ended up renaming it Fourthed. Fourth Ed, geddit? XD I also got enough to summon and clear the Eighth Island, so that's on its way.
-->Got strangely inspired by, of all things, an anecdote from a Dave Barry book. He was talking about his piano lessons, and how he didn't want to spend time trying to decipher the sheet music. I suddenly got the idea for enchanted music that, when you touch the notes, they sound off as they would for the instrument you're learning to play. I'll probably put that up on my tumblr for Magical Monday or Song Saturday.
-->Above also led to me futzing around with an idea I've had for a universe where Victor's a natural necromancer. Dunno if anything will come of it, but it's a fun little thing to while away a couple of minutes with.
-->Finished off another chapter of "In the Land of the Dead." Feels good to keep making progress on that. Hopefully I can be back to proper updating soon!
All right -- a quick look at my favorite Hearthstone playlist, then it's into the fray with tags.
