My last day of school turned out to be boring as hell -- people finishing up the PowerPoints we've already had weeks to work on and the like -- so I ended up browsing TV Tropes of all places while between helping people. And I happened upon the page for Don't Rest Your Head. Now, I've actually read this page before, but back then it was pretty description-and-trope-lite. (Though I might be thinking of something else. . .pretty sure it was this, however.) But I figured I might as well read it again.
And holy jeez, it sounds awesome. And perfect for some sort of horribly twisted Valicey adventure. Basic idea is that your character has stayed awake for so long he or she has gained the ability to enter a whole different dimension and a special Madness superpower. This dimension is populated by Nightmares, who seek to kill the player or steal pieces of his or her essence -- or worse, help them on the road to becoming one of THEM. Also, you can't sleep, or you lose your special powers WHILE STILL BEING HUNTED. Now, I already have Victor as suffering from sleeping difficulties, and the whole idea seems well-suited for Alice's twisted Wonderland. . . Basically I might be taking a day or two to play around with this concept and maybe do some sample character sheets for them. Good for throwing up on the tumblr, at least. :D
Anyway, in other news:
-->Got home early, which was nice. Even got in a good walk back to the house. Weather was beautiful, yaaay. Hope it stays like this for a while.
-->I don't know if we're getting a Double Weekend or not now in DragonVale. Those usually start on Friday afternoons, but no dice today. :( We do have a new Rainbow dragon to go after -- the Prism. Looks very cool. :D We're up to 190 dragons now, and I still need to get 35. . .
-->Continually getting my ass kicked by that damn spider in Hearthstone. I successfully leveled up Rexxar last night and tried making a Hunter deck that might survive the onslaught. Nope. Maybe I'll switch to arena for a little while so I can at least get my ass kicked by other humans instead of the computer.
-->The first chapter of "In The Land of the Dead" is up! See it on FF.net and AO3. While this will be primarily a Lizzie POV story, this first chapter is Arthur's, simply because I felt he'd be the best POV character for the whole "discovering that we're dead" business. We'll switch to Lizzie at the end of the second chapter.
