crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Being called in to housesit JUST as I'm sitting down to dinner. And then having what was supposed to be a 2 hour shift stretch out to nearly four (my mom ended up taking over for me at the end; guess she figured I had to be going a bit mental). I had such good plans for keeping up with things this week, and they've all crashed and burned because when I get frustrated I tend to just reread old EGS comics instead of do anything productive.

I guess now I can finally tell you about the job in a little more detail, though. There's not much to it in essence -- I'm working at the Diocese of Providence as a data entry person. They've got a project going on that requires a bunch of data from scanned files be put into a spreadsheet. They have two interns doing the scanning in the basement, and then I look at the scanned files and put in the info. Can't really tell you what's in them because it's all very confidential -- I had to sign an agreement and everything. But it's work I'm good at (I'm already up to over 1000 records put in), and it's nice and quiet. They've got me set up in my own little office with a two-monitor computer -- one for Excel, one for Laserfiche (that's where the scanned files live). I sit, I type, I take lunch when I'm hungry, then I type some more. Nothing too major -- just makes you kind of stiff by midafternoon.

Everyone there is very nice, and any issues I've been having are pretty minor (mostly just deciphering handwriting and getting annoyed when scans prove to be not-so-good). Did run into a slight kerfuffle with my time sheet today -- Randstad allows you to do those online, but silly me forgot to note the lunch breaks since it was so informal (they have to give me 30 minutes by law). Fortunately it was pretty easily fixed, and I'll remember to note that next time! So yeah, that's going good, and it's a decent paycheck. Hooray for jobs!

I have pretty much nothing else to report because my free time's been so limited -- and of course I had the iPad glitchiness yesterday, but I think that was because it was downloading an iOS update. Everything's been running fine now. Nothing much happening in DragonVale, haven't been playing Hearthstone -- have been playing a fair whack of Spellfall, though. That one doesn't need net to function, ya see. Just retook the Temple of Water today, so I's back to going up against the Temple of Spark. I think we're meeting our Big Bad here. I also upgraded Eric's armor to the Freezemech Plate, since I got it for free thanks to the rewards program and it's a jump up in armor, critical hits, and cold resistance (which will be useful for the next area). And I'm a mere few days away from snagging the second of my swords. . .

But that's in the future. Right now, I honestly think I might just head to bed. I be very tired. G'night all!
