Snowstorm Juno: Way Overhyped
Jan. 27th, 2015 10:30 pmMind you, this is a good thing, as it means we got max a foot of snow on the ground instead of the prophecised two feet or so. It's still pretty white and icky out there, and the wind was howling something fierce at times, but we kept power, net, and heat, and generally things could have been a hell of a lot worse.
Day off was relaxing, and yet rather productive:
--> Caught up on Helloween's videos (yay No More Heroes!)
--> Watched a Sims 4 build of a futuristic house, and a "10 things you probably didn't know about Portal 2" video that actually did inform me of a few things I didn't know
--> Discovered there's a "try it for free for two days" thing going on with The Sims 4 until Groundhog Day in honor of the upcoming anniversary; thinking I might take advantage of that this weekend, at least to experiment with the build mode
--> Played a lot of American McGee's Alice -- finished off Hatter's section (and I don't know what happened, but this go-round Hatter proved to be EASIER than the Red King! And the Red King is roundly mocked as one of the easiest bosses in the game!), then did the Land of Fire and Brimstone and the Jabberwock timed fight. Back at Caterpillar's plot now, ready to head to the Majestic Maze!
--> Wrote another page on "Remembering You," getting Chapter 2 done so I can move into Chapter 3 and Dr. Wilson's arrival
-->Finally used my iTunes giftcard to grab some music I wanted to get. Got a good chunk of Poets of the Fall and a few assorted other songs I wanted. Though I was surprised to find that two of the Evanescence songs I wanted, "Lies" and "Anywhere," weren't on there! Have to double-check stuff. . .also, I apparently want a different version of "I Don't Care" than what's available in the store. >.< Frustrating. (As is having to sign in what feels like every five minutes. . .can't you just accept my password ONCE while I'm shopping all in one go?)
--> Not much in the way of RP, but I caught up on those tags I did have this evening and I'm currently setting up tumblr queues
So yeah, kept happily busy today. And just now I made the discovery that, while I do have work tomorrow, my workplace doesn't open until noon. So I can get up a little later if I want. On the other hand, I don't know if the bus I need to take to GET to work will be running by the time I need to go. . .the roads are pretty crappy (because Rhode Island, despite being a Northeastern state, sucks at winter). So that's a little worrying.
On the other hand, it's probably a worry that can wait until the morning -- let me finish off these queues, and anything else I may have lying around. G'night all, stay warm! (Or cool, in Moose's case.)
