Unusual Saturday
Jan. 31st, 2015 11:21 pmIn that my mom was home for a good chunk of it -- usually she works all day Saturday and Sunday. I'm really not used to seeing her in daylight anymore! :P Still, nice to have her around -- and good to see her less stressed-out. Her job can really take a lot out of her sometimes.
As for me, I've had a fairly productive day:
-->Did the vacuuming as per usual -- Mom helped a little with some other cleaning, so yay for teamwork.
-->Got my bus pass by proxy -- Mom and Dad took the money and got it for me while they were getting groceries. (Or, well, after they got groceries, came back home, and realized they'd forgotten when I asked about it.) So I'm set for another month! Though said month may start with a foot to a foot and a half of snow. . . Colliding storm systems. Gotta love 'em.
-->Completed Caterpillar's Plot: The Return, Majestic Maze, and Airborne Terror in American McGee's Alice. Once again got turned around in the Maze -- quicksave is my best friend in this game, I swear. Madness Returns may be prettier, but DAMN I wish it had quicksave. Would have saved me so much grief in certain parts. . .
-->Downloaded the "Game Time" 48-hour of gameplay free trial of The Sims 4! Because why the hell not. Gave it a whirl, and while I found the tutorial tips to either be only semi-helpful or not giving me information when I needed it (took me a bit to figure out how you rotated objects), and the camera system will take some getting used to, so far I'm not complaining. It was fun to get a chance to screw around in build mode, and to actually PLAY a Sim (I designed a green-skinned knowledge guy named Geeker McTest as my starter :p). I'll keep fiddling with it as long as I have it, see if I find it worth the still-rather-expensive price. (Free trial version DOES come updated with the patches -- I was pleasantly surprised to find swimwear and pools options for my freebie Sims.)
-->Did another page on "Remembering You," glad things are going well with that. Though it's making me want to hug Victor a loooot.
-->Did some RP replies and updated
deadgirlslikeme and
save_us_alice's profiles to reflect their new last name and married/semi-adopted statuses. Yay family. :)
-->This actually happened yesterday, but I forgot to mention it -- finished "Snuff!" And I think it's time I just admitted Sam Vimes is my favorite character overall because damn it I am such a fangirl of his. XD *hugs him* Another good one -- Sam's determination to fix things for the goblins is admirable, his interactions with his family utterly adorable, and the climax on the river! Terry, I wish I could write action as good as you. Though I was wrong about one of the plot points:
( Spoiler )
-->DragonVale update -- next Olympus proved to be a bronze and those damn Snowflakes won't make the third or fourth ones. Hmph. Taking a quick break from breeding to avoid "Full Nursery Syndrome," but once I clear some slots I'll try again with both. Gotta get lucky sometime!
All right, I have either replies or chatting to do -- g'night all!
