I Have Found My Sims 4 Salvation!
Feb. 15th, 2015 11:34 pmAnd it goes by the name of Dr. Chillgood's Faster Eating Mod! Turns out Maxis was so intent on encouraging diner interaction during meals that they unduly encouraged them pausing while eating between every bite. Fine for large families, I suppose -- HELL when you're playing a lone Sim like Geeker McTest. Fortunately Dr. Chillgood's mod happily rebalances things, and now Geeker can actually finish a meal in a decent amount of time. Hooray!
Now that that bit of idiocy is fixed, I found myself having a lot of fun with the game. Didn't really do anything special with Geeker -- got him a promotion at work, had him get through some aspirational milestones, had him visit a lounge and make some new acquaintances -- but it was engaging nonetheless. I'm quite proud of myself for keeping him Happy more often than not. And he gets random bouts of Focused, which is great for learning video game and programming skills -- both very necessary for his tech job! :) He's proving to be a very useful test Sim, and I'm enjoying learning the ropes of the game playing with him. I'll probably drop in on some of the other families eventually. . .and retrieve my Victor and Alice Sims from the Sims 4 Gallery for OTP funtimes. XD (Though I have to get some of the other Sims I made in the Demo uploaded to that too. . .I spent a lot of time on Marty, Emmett, and Eric in particular.)
With the majority of my catching-up taken care of yesterday, I was free to be rather more productive today. Got my writing done first thing when I got on the computer, so "Remembering You" proceeds apace. I've watched all of Helloween's current videos, and I've almost maxed out roses for today in the DragonVale Double Weekend, w000. And I finally got my Bronze Snowy Olympus, it looks like! About time. Doing double duty on getting the Seed now, along with that elusive Gold Olympus. However, I should note that Backflip's pissed me off some -- when I went to check on how many roses I needed for the next Thorn dragon, I was shocked to see they'd RAISED THE PRICE. Granted, I think they also lowered it by the same amount for the final prize, but still! That's a shitty move, Backflip! Makes me long for the days when they honestly stated flat-out one prize was pay-only. . .
Ah well. Right now, I'm concentrating on replies as I head into yet another three-day weekend. At least this one's a federal holiday and not a bad-weather one! Though we had that too -- about a half-foot of snow down here, with strong winds and nasty-cold temperatures. Brrr. Rather glad I don't have to venture out into it tomorrow. So it's back to the grind! Later all!
