That's certainly how it feels today, anyway. Let me sum up my day for you:

-->Got to work and almost immediately caught up on the records from last night. . .and found myself suddenly with nothing to do for a while. Ended up reading Wikipedia for a bit, then my boss came around and I told him what was up -- and learned one of the scanners was sick, leaving just one to handle the load. Went downstairs to talk with her with him, and it was decided that, since I had nothing to type, I should help scan in stuff so there'd be more of a buffer.

-->Incident One: We couldn't log into the other guy's account when we fired up his computer, so I used mine, and being Windows 8, it took its sweet-ass time getting started.

-->Incident Two: While waiting for the computer to get its act together, I tried learning the scanning program on my coworker's computer. The program proceeded to do something similar to but not quite freezing, forcing a shutdown -- and the installation of 51 updates, meaning we were BOTH stuck for a while. *headdesk*

-->Incident Three: The other computer finally cooperated, and I started learning how to scan -- and then we accidentally deleted all the work I'd done trying to delete a page I'd accidentally duplicated.

-->Incident Four: Coworker's version of the program did that weird "semi-frozen" dealie again, necessitating another shutdown and another surprise installation of updates.

-->Despite all this, we somehow managed to be productive and get a bunch of records scanned in, so I should be able to finish off the week doing the job I was actually hired for. And now, if things get slow again, I know enough to head down there and help out, yay.

-->Bus was late getting into Providence and heading out of it thanks to pockets of heavy traffic. Surprisingly, this did not make me incandescent with rage because a) it was a shockingly nice day outside, so it wasn't unpleasant to wait, and b) I still got home in time to do a half-hour on the elliptical and get my shower in.

-->Incident Five: Mom gets home, starts cooking supper, we're all talking about our respective days -- and the light in the kitchen starts flickering. Now, our house is prone to minor electrical problems, so we start joking that there's a ghost affecting it.

Except Dad then goes into his office to discover his computer's shut down, with his surge protector beeping -- and when I go upstairs, my clock is flashing. Not too long after, Mom realizes the burners on the stove don't work anymore. . .and we can smell something burning.

Yeah. Dad went into the cellar to make sure there wasn't a fire, Mom called her brother (who lives in the other half of our duplex; he was out on the road at the time) to get his take on it, and I sat around being suddenly incredibly grateful none of my electronics were plugged in and wondering if we were going to have to evacuate. Power keeps flickering, we discover the fridge isn't working properly either, Dad's not sure where the problem is and keeps mentioning in-wall fires -- it's not fun.

Eventually, my uncle comes home, and he and Dad go to investigate. After checking our fuses, they locate the problem -- one of the major fuses, which are pretty old, is failing, and thus making the power do unpleasantly wacky things. They replace it, power comes back on as normal, and everything is all right, thank GOD. Couldn't bring myself to try RPing after that -- I glanced over Forgotten and Butterfly Boy's stuff, but the mood just wasn't right. Too keyed up. At least I don't have much to catch up on.

-->Incident Six: Very minor compared to the above, but still annoying. New Dragonvale Update comes with new event, and of course if you install early you get some of the signs early -- such as the new skybox (very pretty dawn one), new loading screen, and suchlike. If you're me, you also get kicked out multiple times as you try to load the game after installation. It's working now, but it made me grit my teeth.

So yeah. Not exactly my best Wednesday. I can at least say I got to watch another very entertaining episode of Helloween's NMH2 LP, and leveled up Eric again in Spellfall. But as of right now, I think it's time to head to bed and hope the end of this week improves on the beginning.
