crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Whoof -- long day out on the town! It was fun though. Allow me to give you the sum-up in list form:

-->Woke up at -- okay, technically I was half-awake at six because my brain is a bit evil, but I didn't actually get up until 7:50 or so. Had my breakfast, caught up on a few things, then edited the final bit of Chapter 18 until I had to leave for my dentist appointment.

-->Visited the dentist at Thundermist's new digs -- they have a really nice shiny new building! Dental is now on the second floor instead of this tiny area at the back of the building -- will NOT miss having to slog through snow to get back there. I straightened out my new insurance with the people there, then got my teeth cleaned, x-rayed, and looked at. Bottom line -- I'm doing excellent, as per usual, just gotta make sure I keep my wisdom teeth in good shape. Got my dentist goody bag (new toothbrush, travel-sized toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss, plus the reminder card for my next appointment), and headed up to the mini-mall to get my bus.

-->Arrived at Providence Place Mall about noon -- promptly snagged some lunch from Subway (sweet onion chicken teriyaki) then went up to D & B and amused myself there for a couple of hours. Then I went and wandered around for a while, killing time in Newbury's, Spencers, Hot Topic, and the Lego Store. I didn't go to the Mall with the intention of buying anything more than more chips for my D & B card, but while I was browsing through the necklaces in Hot Topic (they had some neat designs) I came across one shaped like a little pocket watch, with musical notes covering its front. And when you pushed the button on the top, it opened up to reveal it was a real working watch! I dithered for a little bit, but ended up buying it because it was just too neat. :) Blame it on my love of anything that even SMACKS of steampunk. I tried taking some pictures, but they didn't come out very well -- I'll get better ones tomorrow.

-->3:45, I headed back out to Sabin Street to meet up with Mom and Dad and visit the Looff Carousel. I told you guys about this before -- it's the one we tried visiting my last long summer weekend, only to discover it closed. Well, today it was definitely open -- AND there was a small classic cars show going on in the park just around it! So we got to both go on the carousel (though it took some doing to find horses that went up and down AND that I could actually get up on) and walk around and take in some fine pieces of automobile history. It was all really fun -- the Looff is one of those carousels that allows you to try and catch brass rings, and I actually snagged a couple! Mom got four, and Dad -- well, he says he got all of them except three, so. :P But yeah, a much better time than we had there before.

-->After that was dinner -- we were going to try Portuguese, but Mom looked at the menu of her chosen restaurant and wasn't impressed. So instead, after doing some searching on Mom's phone, we visited a place called The Crow's Nest. Really busy, but for a good reason -- they have pretty good food! Though if you go there, for whatever reason, avoid the Seafood Saute. That's what Dad got, and the seafood, while flavorful, was rubbery. The rest of it was nice though -- we had some excellent potato skins for appetizers, and I got a nice piece of breaded, friend chicken drowned in cheese with bacon on top. We actually ended up taking a lot of food back home with us as we couldn't eat it all! At least I have lunch ready for tomorrow.

-->Finally, we went on the search for an orchid -- Mom had to get someone a birthday present, and that was her plant of choice. Took us three stops to find one that wasn't practically dead. We also got fudge swirl cheesecake, which was nice -- I had a piece a little while ago, after finally digesting that giant dinner. We also got a blast from the past in the checkout line -- my old boss was right in front of us! We chatted with him for a while -- he seems to be doing okay. Kind of weird to see him after all this time, though. *shrug* Probably more surprising I haven't seen him sooner, given this is RI and all. . .

And then we got home, and that was pretty much it! I've been spending my evening catching up on stuff. Got tumblr replies done -- I should be able to do some DW ones as well, but I am a bit tired, so no promises. Tomorrow's looking to be "online show marathon" day -- two Linkara episodes (Atop the 4th Wall plus a countdown of his favorite 80s Twilight Zone episodes), NC's review of "Mad Max," and Hell's latest set of RE: Revelations 2. Plus I have to fit in vacuuming, writing, and exercise. . .plus at least some Sims if I can manage it. I'm still just getting the neighborhood ready, so that shouldn't be too hard.

Anyway -- gonna check up on tumblr again, then maybe see about this DW stuff. Night all!
