Freaking HOT Sunday
Jul. 1st, 2018 11:35 pmAs in, the temperature reached 101 degrees F. And it felt like 109. As you can imagine, I stayed in today, close to the air conditioning. O.o My parents went out to a flea market, though, and ended up spending the entire day more or less on the road (said flea market was up New York way). Got a little Scottie dog statue for 12 bucks, so that was nice. I didn't envy them walking around in that weather, though. The rest of the week is supposed to stay hot too -- high 80s for highs, though we'll see what things actually top out at. Today was only supposed to be about 95. . . Next Saturday and Sunday is supposed to be cooler, though, in the 70s. We'll see!
Things done today:
-->Wrote some on a private AU idea that was on my mind -- it's Sunday, I can do little personal projects if I want. I'm still on-track to finish "Fixing You" soon. And it felt like a good idea to follow my muse instead of forcing myself to work on something else.
-->Watched LGR's Seasons review with lunch -- he was quite favorable toward it, saying it added a lot to the gameplay. :) I also watched The Sim Supply's next episode of his "Mad Scientist" LP -- his original love interest Viola is back in the picture, he got another promotion (now halfway up the career!), he did a bit house remodeling, and got some good stuff from transforming objects (including a great bed -- which he sold in favor of another great double bed, and a loveseat that he put outside and made a sitting area for). So that was fun.
-->Then moved onto more of The Sim Supply's Seasons: Rags To Riches LP, which is -- fairly chaotic, to say the least. XD Blizzards, gnomes dropping seed packets everywhere, the flower bunny coming to visit, Seb and Luna getting a date night because of businesses offering free food, glitchy festivals, and some house remodeling! Oh, and James realizing he has aging off and that's why his baby isn't becoming a toddler. XD It's all been a lot of fun, made better by the fact James is clearly having a ball himself. If only the episodes weren't so long -- I totally would have watched more!
-->Speaking of Seasons -- I now own that game pack! And, better yet, I basically got it for free. :) I've had some Amazon gift cards sitting around for ages now (presents from my aunt and uncle), and when I went to buy the pack on Origin (after fighting with it to actually update my game to the latest patch, stupid glitchy thing), I thought, Hang on -- let me check out Amazon first. Sure enough, they had it -- and since I had $50 in credit, the entire thing was covered! Bought it, used the code on Origin, and everything was awesome! I ended up buying two stuff packs too -- one on Amazon with the remainder of the gift cards (Backyard Stuff) and one direct through Origin (Bowling Night Stuff). So for the same amount I paid for the BioShock DLCs yesterday (about 13 bucks), I got an expansion back and two stuff packs for The Sims 4. Not a bad deal.
Admittedly, thanks to fighting with Origin and getting distracted by messages from my mom, I didn't get much of a chance to check out my new items -- but I did boot up the game and hit CAS to check out some of the new clothing options and see what looked good on my Victor and Alice Sims in my gallery. :) My Newcrest Adventures game is also starting in Summer, since I had to pick a season, and I wanted to pick the one we're currently in (especially since one of the stuff packs I have now has new water slide stuff I want to try out). I'm not starting that up until I put my mods and custom content back in, though. Probably on Wednesday I'll give that a go, thanks to me having it off. :)
-->Watched Helloween's final A:MR revisit set (well, final one of actually going through the game -- he's planning on releasing a bonus video showing off some of the DLC goodies next week). Always very satisfying to watch Bumby get his, let me tell you. Bastard.
-->And I just got my queue done for The Valice Multiverse, and got most of my RP comments on DW settled. Good work, me.
Okay -- time to wrap things up and head to bed. I do have a full day of work tomorrow, and I've got plenty to do. Plus I should take a moment and get my pictures ready for Wednesday's Sims update tomorrow afternoon. . . *nods* Get that sorted later. For now, goodnight!
