Semi-Lazy Sunday
Dec. 30th, 2018 11:17 pmWoke up later than I was expecting (10:25 AM -- though, granted, I stayed up until about 2:25 AM last night, sooooo -- rare true 8 hours sleep there. Probably needed it), and spent the morning reading fics of a -- ahem -- personal nature. But I managed to get my act together after lunch:
-->Wrote another chunk on Chapter 11 of "Fixing You" -- Alice and Victor talking about various "plans" people had had for them in the past. As you might imagine, it wasn't a particularly pleasant conversation for either of them. We're about halfway through the chapter by page count -- they've just arrived at Fort Resistence! Now to meet the Insane Children, and have a disturbing revelation about where all those Slithering Ruins that keep popping up are coming from. . .
-->Also got up my latest "Scenes from Secundus" story -- the "commitment" prompt! Some sweet and shameless fluff about the Secundus version of Victor's proposal, awww. Good contrast to what I'm currently writing about in the Forgotten Vows Verse.
-->Watched The Sim Supply's latest "Get Famous Rags To Riches" set -- SOMEBODY DIED IN THE EPISODE. ...Specifically, this random elderly Sim we don't know. XD Lady swooped in and took the opportunity to become friends with Death. XD James also had her complete one last acting gig before switching her over to the Style Influencer career -- hey, her lifestyle brand already means Sims are wearing her clothes. She might as well go all out! (And earn better money from it besides -- the brand only learned like 16 dollars this episode.) James also changed up her traits to make her a Kleptomaniac so she could, at some point in the future, steal back the TV Semaj stole from her during the charity ball. Also she's pregnant with Semaj's child. I don't know WHY James decided that was a good idea, but I look forward to him regretting his life decisions once the baby's born. :p And the butler remains useless -- good reason for me never to use one.
-->Played some BioShock Infinite -- fighting SO MANY DUDES on the way up to Comstock's private cabin on his airship. I did pretty well for the most part -- basically, the Shock Jockey/Murder of Crows set of Vigors is serving me incredibly well. As it stands, Comstock is dead -- Booker having murdered him in a fit of rage when he accused him of knowing exactly why Elizabeth is missing one of her pinkies -- and Booker and Elizabeth are flying off to her tower to destroy it, as it's been siphoning off her powers. They've also managed to charm Songbird to their side (or, well, Elizabeth has) -- which is good, as the airship is under attack by THE MOST ANNOYING VOX FLEET EVER. I'm not sure if my failure to properly defend the airship is just me being bad, or the controls being iffy -- you often have to line up button prompts EXACTLY RIGHT to get what you're looking for, and that's not easy when both you and your airship's "battery" are being shot at. I think the answer might be Vigor traps -- LOTS of Vigor traps. Woof -- gonna look up some tips on how to handle that fight before I head back in.
-->Watched two sets from Helloween: the Saturday Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin set (Jonathan-focused for a change, as he got a new super-jump ability Helloween took full advantage of to explore far corners of various maps, and managed to unlock the full power of the Vampire Killer by defeating Richter Belmont! Tough fight, but he made it through, and now he has a weapon that just CLEAVES through enemies. :D He also completed the second Egyptian painting -- an underground pyramid with a mummy boss and bunny girls hopping around randomly -- and started on the second London painting -- Jonathan and Charlotte managed to stop a train running them over! Hardcore); and the latest Splatterhouse (2010) set (Rick and the mask continue to splatter their way through the house and find lewdish pictures of Jen (I say "lewdish" as she was clothed in the latest one -- devil Halloween costume), and Helloween continues to fail tricky quicktime events (to be fair, it was a collapsing bridge section where the rules of what you needed to do changed halfway through). Also there was a disturbing amount of Eye Scream, what with eyeballs being yanked out all over the place. And a quick look back at the unlocked Splatterhouse 2, which Helloween claims has iffier sound than he remembers, but I would have no idea. Fun, though!).
-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue all settled, so yay there. Nothing too overwhelming, which is nice.
Now I just have to answer the comments in my inbox! Not too different from the standard Sunday around here, honestly. Though it is nice to still have two days off, yay. New Year's Eve tomorrow -- hopefully that'll go well. We've got our menu and movies all planned out, so that's all set, at least. In case I don't end up making a post before midnight tomorrow, have a Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! I think we're all just about ready to say goodbye to 2018. *nods* Night all!
