A Fairly Lazy Saturday
Jan. 12th, 2019 11:32 pmAll courtesy of the blood currently flowing out of me. I mean, you guys know I have trouble getting going in the morning on the weekends anyway, but this morning was a real chore. I ended up deciding to skip the dusting and swiffering part of my cleaning and just change my sheets and vacuum my rug. That's at least some effort put toward keeping my room clean, and I can catch up on the other stuff next weekend. Most of my day was spent either:
-->Reading TV Tropes (I did some binging on the general Sims pages -- still feeling super-nostalgic for Makin' Magic. I really miss witches in Sims 4 -- hopefully this year!)
-->Watching YouTube videos (a defense of Dark Souls 2 by hbomberguy, which did come off a bit as "my way of playing the games -- eschewing shields and being really aggressive in melee -- is objectively the best and any game that caters to it is awesome"; more Bloodborne lore and "interesting things you might have missed" videos; and Helloween's penultimate Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin set, where he defeated Brauner -- and accidentally set things in motion for Dracula to come back. Whoops. On the plus side, there's still time to beat him -- and also time to do a specific hidden labyrinth of enemies (including fighting against a Doppelganger Jonathan and fake versions of past Castlevania heroes) to earn a cool new dual spell that summons the spirits of old Belmonts to pummel your enemy. :D So that was neat)
-->Watching a bad movie starring The Rock (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, a sequel to another silly action film that takes the idea that Jules Verne wrote about real places and runs with it. We ended up shutting it off because it was mostly stupid jokes about pooping yourself and fragile masculinity and one of the leads was extremely unlikable (not Dwayne Johnson, the young man playing his stepson))
So yeah, not a day very conducive to productivity. I did, however:
-->Play BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea, which is, uh, hard. Mostly because my Shield, Health, and Eve (formerly Salts) bars have all shrunk so I keep running out of all three at inconvenient moments during firefights. And all the searchable items keep giving me money, which isn't any good until I find a vending machine! Or get killed, since I lose a good chunk on revival. And I have been getting killed a LOT lately. It's just -- I'm used to having more Vigor/Plasmid powers, more Eve/Salts, and more guns to work with! Also my aiming was kind of shit, which I'm going to blame partly on my period taking me off my game (though, admittedly, my aiming isn't the best even at the best of times, sooo. . .). Also Sander Cohen is being creepy all over the place and I'd like him to stop. On the plus side, I'm almost where I need to get to, so hopefully I can get myself another plasmid soon enough and start freezing some people (Devil's Kiss isn't being very useful at the moment).
-->Write the last half of my latest "Technicolor Phase" short. Think I did a very tender scene between Victor and Alice, even for a first draft. It and the two before it need some serious clean-up, but at least they're done and the "falling in love with Alice" gap in my original version of the story is filled. :) So that story should resume very soon!
-->Get my Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse queues done -- yeah, couldn't do the active RP thing tonight. I was feeling a bit more awake as the day went on, but -- it's not enough to sustain any long threading. Bleh. Why does my period have to knock me on my ass like this. . .
So, not my greatest Saturday, but at least I got the important stuff done. Should feel a little more myself tomorrow. . .for now, gonna take a crack at answering the stuff in my inbox, then probably listen to music on the YouTubes or something. Night all!
