Annoyingly Typical Monday
Jan. 28th, 2019 11:22 pmAs in, "everything was so busy at work I barely got anything that I wanted to get done, done." Lots of phone calls, people pestering me over e-mail, needing to send out letters and trying DESPERATELY to process some stuff. . .I DID make a dent in the payroll deduction stuff, which is good. One thing at a time. And hopefully tomorrow, now that I've got all the IDs and suchlike, I can get up some more gifts for the capital campaign. I just SO want to catch up on everything I need to be doing. . . And the ride home didn't do me any favors. Heavy traffic, cars stopped or broken down in odd spots, some getting stuck briefly in the turning lane facing someone coming the other way. . .I'm surprised I got home as fast as I did. At least it was in one piece.
Evening's been a bit better -- I got another solid chunk done on Chapter 14 of "Fixing You." Victor's going through the wedding rehearsal under duress, and -- well, poor guy is having some minor flashbacks to how it all went wrong with Emily and Victoria. Happily Alice is there to see him through. I also got in a few videos:
-->The final episode of "The Adventures of Thorne Bailey" by The Sim Supply, where he finished off the restoration of Thorne's life by making him a Global Superstar, giving him an Atrocious Reputation so he could start an official Feud with Lady II, completing the World-Famous Celebrity aspiration so his star will never again fade, getting Octavia pregnant with his -- SIXTH child (Orange with her, the twins Brussels and Blueberry with Lady, and Carol and Replacement Carol with Holly -- original Carol still shows up on his family tree, so she still counts), and finally getting them married again. So basically he's even better than he was before. Strange for a Sim that James initially hated for taking the spotlight off Lady, but that's how these things go. XD
-->The next set of Splatterhouse (2010) by Helloween -- mostly a "how we got here" chapter with West narrating his start of darkness with the death of his wife Leonora and a familiar voice telling him she doesn't have to die. . .and how that led to him bringing back Leonora as a horrible ghoulish monster. All the while Rick's traveling through this especially MEATY version of the mansion (think Queensland in AMA), on a quest to destroy the terrible heart at its center. Good stuff -- except when the game broke, that is. XD Poor Helloween suffered three nasty glitches -- a glory kill gone wrong, where Rick got stuck in a running animation; a cutscene gone wrong where the camera froze at an awkward angle, not allowing Helloween to see the action and killing Rick off, and a weird moment where Rick's model got stuck standing there in the final cutscene as his cutscene self tore the heart from its moorings. I don't think he believed the game was all that buggy until then -- live and learn. Still looking forward to the next part, though.
-->A list of old Bloodborne fails -- mostly involving elevators and the way they screw people over. XD Top one was someone getting teleported randomly to the top of an elevator and rolling off to avoid being squished -- only to fall through the map into the outer darkness for a while, somehow semi-triggering an early boss fight (as in, the boss's health bar appears -- and goes DOWN), before finally dying. It was WEIRD -- but in a good way.
And I got my VictorLuvsAlice queue settled for a couple more days -- Sims posts are done, hooray. Nice to have a couple of short ones. . .though I am looking forward to showcasing the Emmett/Nikal wedding. :) Currently, though, my goals consist of emptying out the inbox and hitting the sheets. Sure to have another busy day tomorrow, and I've gotta be prepared. Night all!
