Quietly Stressful Friday
Feb. 15th, 2019 11:34 pmAs in, I didn't have a heck of a lot of things pulling for my attention, but the things I DID have on my plate were pretty stressful. Managed to get two things done for the Project That Will Not Die, but now I've got people asking me for e-mail stuff and it's just -- ugh. At least I have two days away from it all. . .should be THREE because of President's Day, but no, have to take away a guaranteed break in February to make an already-long Easter weekend longer. . . I mean, I understand the logic -- given where I work, we should have Easter Monday off, and it's not like I don't have vacation time, but still. A holiday where I felt like I wasn't personally missing anything would be nice.
*pinches bridge of nose* Aaaanyway, currently in the middle of catching up on stuff (as I usually am on Friday nights), but I did get a few things accomplished:
-->Wrote some more on Chapter 15 of "Fixing You" -- the fight with the Colossal Nell has begun! Already I'm getting a bit of use out of Victor's new weapons, which is nice. And Victor and Alice have already taken down a couple of faces, good for them. Unfortunately, Victor's about to get injured yet AGAIN. . .fortunate after this fight I plan on him getting a full heal in preparation for the last leg of this journey!
-->Caught up on Helloween's latest Resident Evil 2 REmake set, with the 2nd Run campaign of Leon! And we were thrown right into the action, with a quick "this is how we got here" montage and a look at one of earlier cutscenes from Leon's perspective. Leon gets into the police station from a different angle when you play him second, and has access to different areas -- Claire never could reach the break room, for example, but Leon can. Some items are in different places, and certain puzzles have different solutions -- though lockers and safes don't change. Oh, and Mr. X is ALREADY stomping around, ready to make our lives miserable. This is going to be interesting. XD
-->Also started Helloween's newest LP -- Metro Exodus! It's another entry in the Metro series, which is all about surviving in the societies that have formed in the underground Russian metro after a nuclear apocalypse. Except THIS one starts with our brave hero being convinced there's life up on the surface. . .and being proven RIGHT after an expedition with his long-suffering wife. Turns out the climate up top is a lot more complicated than just "radioactive wasteland," particularly politically. I don't remember much from the last Metro game Helloween played, but I'm on-board to see where this one goes!
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue set up for the next day, so that's good. Got a very cute song for Song Saturday, which is nice. :)
All right -- time to empty out the inbox, set up my Valice Multiverse queue, and then do the thing with my friend on tumblr. Nothing too complicated planned for this weekend -- just "do the writing, keep up on videos, and play games." Standard stuff, really. . .night all!
