Slushy Sunday
Mar. 10th, 2019 11:27 pmWe're not sure it ever got as warm as the weather people were saying, so while we only got a TINY bit of snow this morning, what's out there right now is mostly a slushy, icy mess, with the potential to get even icier overnight. *sigh* Driving in tomorrow morning's going to be a treat, let me tell you. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
Since the weather outside was frightful, I ended up staying in, playing video games and watching YouTube for most of the day:
-->Got in a round of BioShock Infinite before lunch -- have progressed inside Fink's factories and located the private quarters, and the private labs, of the man himself. Been doing a lot better on the whole "taking care of enemies" front -- noisemakers paired with gas arrows make for a handy combination. :P And I've been learning all sorts of good stuff from the voxaphones. Namely, that Fink was as horrible a person as he was a brilliant scientist. Damn, I am so glad Daisy kills his ass. . .less glad that the Luteces then manipulated her into making Elizabeth kill her. *grumbles about how Rosalind and Robert should also be considered two of the series' main villains. . .* Currently wandering around the labs looting and trying to find the lock of hair from pre-quantum-collapse Liz -- and really hoping I'm NOT going to have to fight a Handyman I saw on an operating table in there. *whimper*
-->Also got in a round of Sims 4 later this afternoon! Sent Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker to investigate the StrangerVille secret lab and gather evidence. Geeker managed to break every computer in the place trying to hack evidence for Chell. *grumbles* They also hit the library, where Wheatley made his 20th friend (fulfilling an aspirational milestone -- now he just has to max out his Charisma skill!) and Chell bugged some people (getting some audio evidence for her investigation, and a handy bit of blackmail material on one of the residents). I don't know how far I'm going to get in their investigation before their part of the update is over, but it's fun to have a goal for the family to work towards. :)
-->On the video side, I caught up with my Helloween, starting with Secret of Mana 2! The gang has discovered the entrance into the secret dwarf village, and encountered Watts, the shopkeeper and blacksmith from the first game. He's a bit more of a jerk this time around, initially trying to get the party to pay $5,000 for the gunpowder they need to travel by cannon (it's -- a thing in this world), but he loosened up considerably once they saved the Earth spirit Gnome from a terrible monster. And then they got cannonballed into Duran's home country and narrowly foiled an attempt by Angela's home country to kill the King and steal its mana stone. King Richard let drop that Angela's parentage might be of interest, before sending them off to get the next spirit the need, the spirit of Wind. The long fetch quest continues!
-->We also had the delightful "Tofu Survivor" scenario from Hells and Resident Evil 2 REmake -- basically, Hunk's scenario, only you're a block of tofu and you're only armed with knives. And one heal. It's as ridiculous and hard as it sounds. XD Helloween did admirably, though, and sped through the course in 9:29 -- a new personal best for him! So go Hells.
-->There was also another episode of The Sim Supply's StrangerVille LP -- Holly Alto has discovered both the source of the infection, and how to cure it! This involves throwing glasses of serum into people's faces and hoping it stops them acting weird. XD He's now recruiting a team to go up against the monster behind it all. Next episode will probably be the final battle -- I'm looking forward to it! Even if it means the cool pink lightning goes away -- seriously, hoping I can get some awesome screenshots of that when I get to that point in my game. :D
-->And the second half of the Hitman 2 Mumbai section! The various 47s have completed their assassinations -- Andy, of course, continued to follow story missions with his usual perfection, and achieved the highest rank in the game. Jane, on the other hand, was forced into some rather sloppy assassinations thanks to some bad throws (firstly, forgetting cricket balls only knock people out and having to follow up with a screwdriver to the face; secondly, throwing a meat cleaver AS A DISTRACTION by accident and having to wang a pair of scissors at her target instead), but managed to escape with two stars. And Mike was -- well, Mike. XD 0 stars, but he did manage to blow up one of his targets and knock them into a pool, and throw a bird-head axe (yes, a thing in this game) into the head of the other one. And it only devolved into everyone spraying bullets at him at the very end! So that's kind of a win? XD I so hope the next one comes out quick. . .
And I even managed to get some writing done on Chapter 16 around all of that! Mostly Victor and Alice reacting to the "purified" Thirteen, and Alice giving Victor a little extra reassurance that his feelings toward her aren't bad and that she's willing to wait while he processes everything. Just gotta set up his new Wonderland, and we're good to go!
Speaking of which, I have a few things to answer in my inbox, then I need to be good to go. Full week this week. *deep breath* Hopefully it won't be too much of a stressed-out mess. Just counting the days until my other coworker comes back. . . Night all!
