crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
MUCH quieter day, with much fewer issues with the GL and me getting more of what I wanted to get done, done -- including a bunch of capital campaign stuff. And my coworker got me a nice plant and a Subway gift card to thank me for all my hard work during the past few months. So that was very sweet. :) And the traffic was MILES better. Balances out yesterday's nightmare nicely.

Been a fairly busy evening -- I made a small edit to Chapter 17 after my friend Gigs wondered about Houndsditch having a flushing toilet in 1876. I admit, I originally got caught up in what else was happening in that scene and had a "of course everything was always like the modern era" moment -- fortunately, some browsing of the history of the flush toilet on Wikipedia on my lunch break revealed that it was actually vaguely plausible for Houndsditch to have a flush toilet around that time, as they were really starting to come into vogue then. So rather than having to totally rewrite the damn thing, I was able to just tweak it to make it a little more plausible for the time period (it's implied to a new, not entirely reliable hook-up). I also started Chapter 18 -- Victor and Dr. Wilson on their way to the wedding, talking a bit about how they've chosen to avoid most of the hustle and bustle, and how Victoria's basically a Valice shipper at this point. XD This one's gonna be a fairly long one, so don't expect to see it too soon, but it'll definitely drop in April. That I can promise.

I also watched some videos, namely:

-->A "Fun With Shorts" mocking a rather silly little short on Noah's Ark (though, admittedly, it's far from the worst thing ever featured on that channel)

-->The Sim Supply playing more Sims 2 -- Eggton, the husband, visited the Games hobby clubhouse, shot some pool, and made a new friend (with connections in his chosen career, no less); Nina, the wife, went Downtown, snagged a new love interest in a club, then invited him out on a date to the local hedge maze and woohooed with him in a photo booth. XD And their kid basically sat in a car all day. And James got Nina pregnant again because he can't stop clicking that "Try For Baby" option. XD It's good stuff, even as it makes me SUPER nostalgic for some of the stuff we got in Sims 2 but not Sims 4. I miss pinball machines. And the juicer from Sims 2: Seasons. And home businesses. And official hobbies. And customizing novels with special icons Sims will think while reading them, and a custom cover. Can we just port all this content over into the new game? (I actually looked up to see if there was a modded juicer, but the only one I found was by someone who left the community ages ago, so no dice.)

I am also cautiously poking the Vampire: the Masquerade -- Bloodlines 2 hype with a stick. I'm eager to see what's going to come, and I like the trailer, but I don't want to get TOO excited. Who knows if this is actually going to be any good or not. Or involve an overabundance of unnecessary DLC. But I'm hopeful -- they've got one of the original writers, and the guy who did the original soundtrack. So those are good signs, at least. Gonna be a hell of a wait, since this officially comes out next year, but I happily anticipate reading articles and looking at demos and new trailers. :) And it's just fun to watch from the sidelines as the "vtmb" tag on tumblr freaks out. XD

And now I must work to answer all my comments, as per usual, before doing the thing with the friend. Tomorrow -- OXBox lists and more BioShock Infinite Burial At Sea. And doing the second draft of another friend's gift fic for posting on Tuesday. Sounds like a good to-do list. *nods* Night all!
