Not What I Planned Saturday
Apr. 13th, 2019 11:33 pmMy PLAN was to get up, make my smoothie, clean my room, watch some videos, play a video game (I hadn't decided between Fallout 4 or Sims 4), go for a walk, get some writing done, watch some more videos, get up my latest Scene From Secundus, and do the RP thing.
First of all, it took me a bit longer than usual making my smoothie because I had to toss an apple that was going bad. Then of course I did that thing on Saturday mornings where I spend more time than I plan to on TV Tropes. THEN my attempts at cleaning my room were interrupted by a) having to help put groceries away and b) my own insistence on rearranging a couple of my lower shelves. Then the guy who's going to be doing our roof came over so we could look over and sign the contract and give him his down payment. Then I got caught up in reading tumblr blogs of varying types off and on and just -- never got to any of my own writing. Or the video games. Basically, it's been kind of a "brain not quite getting started" day. At least, not on the things I intended.
However, I am determined not to let this get me down, so I shall make a list of the things I did get accomplished today:
-->The smoothie was made -- the next apple was fine, and it came out tasting great! So yay, breakfast~
-->I did get my room cleaned up despite all the interruptions, and I'm actually quite happy with the way I rearranged the shelves! They look a lot neater and I don't have any stray movies or CD cases lying on top anymore. Plus the shifting around made me clean behind a few things properly, so I actually got my room cleaner than usual.
-->I watched a few videos -- one Kubz Scouts video on the latest Yandere Simulator update (featuring an update to mission mode letting you pick multiple targets and specific ways to kill them -- Jay ended up having trouble with that, as killing some people certain ways is more difficult in this mode -- and a new easter egg that turns Yan-Chan into a black hole girl who literally sucks in anyone she gets close to XD), and two Call Me Kevin videos -- one on the Fantastic 4 (2005) PS2 game (it's basically about as shitty as the movie, though thankfully with much less of Johnny Storm behind a dickhead) and one on BLOODBORNE (oh. my. God. His attempt at making Jim Pickens in the character creator turned into him making a horrifying technicolor birdman monstrosity, and he didn't even REVIEW THE CONTROLS before he started. Cue him dying a LOT -- except to the one creature he was SUPPOSED to die to to get weapons! XD I mean, yes, he got them eventually, but he basically had no idea how to USE them, constantly firing his gun into the ground and heavy-attacking with the threaded cane's whip mode. It was -- delightfully horrifying, is what I'm saying. XD At least he had a good sense of humor about his fail. XD)
-->I got the walk in -- another trip up to the park with the family. Day started out kind of wet and gloomy, but by the time we got up there, it was freaking GORGEOUS. If it didn't hit 70 today, I will be EXTREMELY surprised. I had my windows open a lot of the day -- yay for fresh air!
-->I got up the latest Scene From Secundus: #13: Honey And, considering how extensively I edited it, I think it can also count as my writing for the day. (That and a draft I started on a potential Cinderella Valice AU based on some retold fairy tales I was reading on a tumblr blog, though I ran out of steam trying to get the idea to come together -- have to look at it again later.)
-->. . .Eating cookies isn't REALLY an accomplishment, but my mom made peanut-butter-chip cookies (in both chocolate and peanut butter varieties -- yes, peanut butter peanut-butter-chip cookies), and that made me happy, so I'm including it here.
So yeah, I would have preferred my Saturday go more to plan, but -- I got a few things done. And I have a long weekend coming up to make up the remainder. Right now, I have to do more of the RP thing, and get my tumblr queues sorted. And maybe make a point of going to bed earlier tonight, as I think part of the problem of the brain not starting might have been related to me getting up a bit earlier than I should have based on my bedtime. Or maybe that's just me feeling tired right now. . . Anyway, night all!
