crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Had the lunch date at work today with Mom and my two coworkers -- it went well! Mom gets along well with them, and we weren't out of the office for longer than we should have been, so yay. Went to Coal-Fire Pizza, as that's the closest restaurant to the Diocese -- as usual, the food was -- adequate. I had two slices of a individual-sized Meat Lover's pizza -- a touch on the spicier side than I like (damn meatballs), and pretty greasy. (My dad, who got the leftovers I sent home, agreed with me on the latter.) Not truly horrible, but -- eh. Mom had a chicken pesto sandwich, which she gave me a slice off -- I liked it better than the pizza, though it too ended up pretty drippy and greasy. My coworkers both had tomato soup, which they raved over -- I've had it myself, and found it, again, adequate. Though maybe that's me not being that much into tomato too. . . But the important thing is that we enjoyed ourselves, and Mom got to treat everybody for helping fill our garden with flowers, so that was nice.

Rest of the work day was pretty quiet -- a few proofs to approve, some more returns to handle, a couple of things to talk to the boss about. Nothing truly horrible. I'm hoping Friday's more of the same. These quiet periods never last as long as I'd like them to, and I want to enjoy this one while it's here.

Afternoon was pretty solid too:

-->Got in another few laps outside -- ah, I've MISSED walking around the neighborhood! I'm someone who really prefers to walk in the sunshine over indoor workouts.

-->Got up my latest chapter of "A Wedding, A Wedding, We're Going To Have A Wedding" -- Cake Occupies A Special Place! AKA Victor, Alice, and June design the menu that I came up with for the first reception in "Fixing You." Just some silly food-based fun!

. . .Which led to me coming up with a SEVENTH chapter for this while I was doing the tumblr post for it in tomorrow's queue. *facepalm* You see, I remembered my super-old "Solicitor's Ward" AU (basically one of my FIRST Valice AUs, I thought it was going to be THE Valice AU until Secundus and Forgotten Vows showed up), where Victor and Alice got married in Wonderland and had an actual breakfast for their wedding breakfast. . .and realized oh God, Forgotten!Victor and Alice having a THIRD surprise reception in Wonderland -- no, wait, on the border of Alice's Wonderland and Victor's Otherland -- would be SO CUTE. . . And of course, this comes with the SIDE idea that "I should really do a story of Victor and Alice exploring his Otherland domains. . ." *facepalm* I am literally NEVER going to be done with this particular AU verse, am I? I thought I had a problem with all the short fics I wrote for the Secundus verse, but at least THOSE I can put into big old fic collections. . . I really need to be able to clone myself. THEN I'd get all the AUs I want to get done, done.

-->Watched two Call Me Kevin videos:

A) A Hitman 2 video featuring the "bank heist" mission -- turns out there is already an ACTUAL heist being planned in the bathroom of said bank! And you can steal the potential perp's rabbit costume! I mean, it makes you suspicious as hell, and got Kevin gunned down, but. . .well, Kevin was getting gunned down a LOT during this level. Mostly because he wouldn't stop doing illegal things. XD He DID actually successfully complete the mission in the end (and got to be in-game Kevin! Yes, there's a character in the game called Kevin; an HR manager), but it took a LOT of work to get there. A lot of hilarious, hilarious work. XD

B) The next part of his Sims 4 saga -- Jim Pickens officially declared war on the Newcrest Thugs! With the help of the Extreme Violence mod! . . .the end result was Jim killing a couple of his own gang members and a number of innocent bystanders, trying to frame another one of his gang members for it, getting arrested, then taking the fight to the rival gang leader and -- well, somehow FAILING to kill the guy despite stabbing him in the chest (I believe Last Exception Errors spared the rival). And we ended the episode with Jim back in jail again. Just a typical day in the Pickens household! XD

-->And this led SOMEHOW into me watching the latest At4W XD Last ever Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comic! Which -- doesn't really feature much of the Whiz Kids promoting Tandy Computer products. The camcorder gets a good airing, but the actual computers. . . It was another PSA comic, this one about community service and helping the elderly. Decent intentions, but the comic proved to be a smug dick on the topic of graffiti, which infuriated Linkara. Led to some great rants, at least. I am sad to see these little shills go, but at least next week I'm promised some more PSA Hell fun with Captain America. :p

-->And most of the rest of the evening has been fixing up the Valice Multiverse queue (another busy one tonight), and grabbing some stuff for my Victor Luvs Alice one (gotta keep the drafts folder full!). Typical Thursday night shenanigans, honestly. (And atypically reminiscing about my Sims 2 Victor and Alice with a friend from tumblr -- I still have the old pictures, cripes. . .)

So yeah, that's been my day. Time to finish up with the inbox and hit the sheets. One more half-day to get through, then long weekend, yay! Night all!
