Mall Trip Get
Aug. 28th, 2019 11:14 pmLeft the house just before ten this morning to hike down to the bus stop and catch the bus. . .which ended up being ten minutes late on a rather muggy morning, so that wasn't exactly great. BUT turns out the bus I took pulls right up to the stop outside Providence Place, so I still got there at the time the schedule said I would, so that was all right then! :) Good to know for those days where my parents can't drop me off for whatever reason.
Had a good time at the mall, too -- wandered around Newbury's and eventually bought three new pins for my "adventure hat:"
-->A purple "I'd Ship That!" pin because it's my favorite color and my love of Valice made it feel appropriate
-->A "Save The Word Tacos" pin because it amused me (it's a joke on the covers of a book being shaped roughly like a taco shell)
-->A "I'm Smiling. That alone should scare you" pin because, again, it amused me XD
I then had lunch at my favorite food court location (chicken philly and strawberry lemonade, om nom), and hit Dave & Buster's. There was a birthday party going on in there, and they rearranged all the games again, but I still had a great time. Got a high score on the giant Space Invaders game they have. :D And I discovered a new game -- a claw machine full of mini collectible rubber ducks that lets you play until you get something! Dead serious -- one swipe, and as many tries as it takes to catch a duck. I managed to snag a nice purple duck in the end -- he now lives in our bathroom. :) So that was fun.
And then I wrapped up the day with a trip to the Hershey Shake Shop to get a Better Brownie Batter shake. Om nom NOM -- that's the good stuff, let me tell you. ^-^ Was back home by 2, and not a moment too soon -- the rest of the afternoon was rained out! Remains of Tropical Depression Erin, it seems -- at least it's supposed to clear out by tomorrow. And dry out too -- got the AC on for tonight just to fight off the mug a bit! Woof. . . Ah well, it was a good streak of not needing it.
With the rain having set in, afternoon was mostly taken up by:
-->Catching up on last week's Atop The Fourth Wall -- another entry in the DC Star Trek: The Next Generation miniseries, wrapping up the "Q loses his powers" three-parter. Featured laughably incompetent characters (PARTICULARLY the security force, who basically just handed some dangerous prisoners an escape from their cell), ridiculous writing, and plenty of angry snark from Linkara. And a return of the "I AM A MAN!" joke, which was nice. Next episode up is another "Mr. T" comic, so that should be more fun-silly than painful-silly.
-->Playing some Bloodlines -- Alice reported to Damsel on the death of the first plaguebearer, only to learn there's a bunch of others about. Time to canvass the homeless and see what they know! I got her up to the point of learning from Tin Can Bill about Brother Kanker, but figured she'd probably want to upgrade her firepower before going after the Nossie -- after all, I nearly DIED in that Jezebel fight. Literally had so little health left I couldn't even see it in my bar! So yeah, after a detour to check out the murder scene to advance the "Mudd Hunt" and "Carnival of Death" quests (and, uh, play basketball with a severed head as there's a special sound clip that plays if you get it through the hoop ^^;), I had Alice go over to Fat Larry's and do his "Traffik" quest. I ended up giving her another point in Charisma just so she'd have the persuasion necessary to get the discount on his goods as well as his cash payout for the briefcase. She HAS been doing a lot of persuading lately, so I think it's justified. Anyway, getting through the parking garage where it was all going down was a LOT easier with Obfuscate, let me tell you! Invisibility is not a power to be sneezed at. Got the briefcase without being noticed (getting some extra XP), and (after one reload) only had to kill one guy on the way back up to get some blood back. So now I'm in Larry's good books, got an in with Venus, and am prepared to go face the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle! I am also a cowgirl, thanks to the Malkavian outfits -- Alice in-story is going to dress MUCH more sensibly. XD It's fun to replay this game -- and fun to write up my notes afterward. Slowly but surely bringing this timeline together. . .
-->Watching Outstar's analysis video on the latest Bloodlines 2 trailer -- which, uh, was mainly just "hey, look what ray tracing can do if you have an RTX-enabled Nvidia card!" But it did have a new voiceover, and showed off some nice locations, so we got that out of it, at least. And I learned a bit about the layout of Seattle, so that was fun too. XD
-->Catching up on my Helloween with the Dead Space 2 set! Many gribblers were toasted and stomped. He's even upgraded the flamethrower to a nifty BLUE flame, ooooo~ Isaac also ended up stabbing Stross in the head (mostly because he'd gone a little more insane than Isaac and Ellie could safely handle -- Ellie is missing an eye now thanks to him, and he nearly did the same to Isaac), and ended up confronting his demons in glowy-eyed Nicole. Who is now no longer glowy-eyed, so -- progress? We'll see how it shakes out in the upcoming sets. Also Isaac and Ellie drove a giant drill through a bunch of gribblers and into the main foundation building. :D So that was fun. Ellie's such a great character in this game -- I am saddened that my first experience with her was the watered-down Dead Space 3 version. Ah well, at least now I get to enjoy her at her best.
And I got my queue done for a bit longer on Victor Luvs Alice, and now it's time to catch up on comments in the inbox. Usual nightly stuffs. Tomorrow is going to be more of a Sims day, and then in the afternoon/evening we're heading out for dinner and a round of mini-golf, since Mom has the day off. Should be an enjoyable trip out. Last big outing of the vacation, anyway, which is fine by me. I just want to enjoy my final days off before I have to return to the post-summer routine.
Anyway -- comments. Night all!
