crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Mostly because I went back to Zero's Sims 4 Mods Patreon to look up the latest on the bugs with Spellcasters (apparently ANYTHING that affects XP gain in any way is going to lead to Bad Things once your Spellcaster attains the topmost rank -- yes, this includes in-game perks, especially when combined with that special "bloodline" trait added to the pack), and then went and looked at the bug reports people have been submitting for the game pack, and I ended up getting mad over the fact that I'm now almost too afraid to buy the pack I'VE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR, and after a bit of this my brain went, "You know what, screw this, you're spending the afternoon reading TV Tropes instead."

So yeah -- didn't play the game at ALL today, which wasn't quite my intention. I have decided a good response to this is to change up my Victor Luvs Alice queue a little and ask tumblr what they think of the pack and what bugs THEY may have been experiencing. I think I just need some other opinions to convince me that the pack isn't going to break my game. Either that, or I just have to make an executive decision not to buy the pack until after the NEXT patch, when they might actually FIX some of these issues. Who knows. *sigh* It just -- kind of pisses me off, you know? I still LIKE this game, but it's getting harder and harder to enjoy it with stuff like this happening and the general negativity of the fanbase. . .

Anyway! Today was kind of a lazy Sunday overall, honestly -- I got up at 10:40, and spent a good chunk of the day on TV Tropes thanks to the above. Not to mention it was football Sunday, so I also spent some time watching football stuff and eating chicken wings and spinach pies (om nom nom). But there were a few things accomplished:

-->Despite my lack of Sim-playing, I did watch some Sim-related videos:

A) Lilsimsie renovating one of the Realm of Magic houses, which -- admittedly, WAS pretty crap in its original version. I think her new version may be a little too RITZY for the Sims who own it (two new Spellcasters in a friendly competition to see how ranks up first), but it definitely looks a lot better than it did, so I shan't fault her too much for that.

B) GrayStillPlays doing one of his "let's kill a bunch of Sims in an interesting way!" challenges -- today was cardiac explosions! XD A bunch of Jealous, Hates Children Sims all married to each other so they'd be constantly cheating, forced to take care of a random child Sim Gray made for them. XD And in a house designed to make them more and more enraged as time went on. It was great -- especially since the family cat, Spleens, SOMEHOW got pregnant and had a kitten, much to Gray's bewilderment. The new kitten is Kidneys, and the commenters are already demanding he be in every new challenge from now on. XD I'm for it!

C) Plumbella the Good Catholic Girl using a bunch of less-than-Good-Catholic mods in her game just for the lolz. XD Prostitution mods, drug mods, the famous Extreme Violence and Wicked Whims mods. . .her reactions to some of the things Sims could get up to were HILARIOUS XD I am still genuinely amazed at how well-made these mods are too. People put THOUGHT into having their Sims become drug lords, or apocalyptic wizards, or mass murderers. XD It's not my style of play, but DAMN is it fun to watch. XD

-->And some other videos as well:

A) Gloom doing some riddles with another friend of hers, Charlie -- who pointed out they're not really "riddles," and then proceeded to do really poorly by overthinking all of them. XD The trap of 7 Seconds Riddles!

B) Deli and James playing multiplayer Man of Medan, a horror game that came out recently, about creepy happenings on a sort of ghost ship. I -- actually didn't enjoy it much. Not because the game was bad (though it's one of those with very uncanny valley facial expressions), but because they didn't do a proper split screen for most of the video, meaning we could hear James commenting on stuff he was experiencing -- but not actually SEE it. Plus I didn't think much of their reactions? James kept acting like he was going to troll Deli, but he didn't really do a lot of that? And it just -- I dunno. They didn't feel right doing a horror game to me. Probably won't watch any future episodes if they come out with more.

C) GrayStillPlays CarHazard, a really goofy and twisted video game about being a car-sharing driver trying to get to her Grandma's place, taking people like creepy kids into voodoo and talking Not-Rocket Racoon on rides. XD It was great, especially the ending, which -- well, I won't spoil it. ;) Just there were some expected horrors, and some unexpected ones too. . .

-->Got another page on "Secundus 2" done -- the gang has captured Barkis, and is anxiously landing back in Hill Valley to face the music. They already know Mayor Gillen is pissed with them -- they're just hoping neither Jennifer's family nor Marty's is angry too. They've been through enough bullshit today to deal with canceled weddings or possible disownings. . .don't worry, guys, you're almost to the end of your journey.

-->And got my Valice Multiverse queue done and the initial stuff in my inbox cleared out, yay~ So that's all good.

So yeah -- that's about it for today. Tomorrow's all about Corpse Bride and vampires -- I want to at least watch a few clips from the movie, plus get through Grout's mansion in Bloodlines. Achievable goals, I think! So long as I don't sleep most of the day away. :p Night all!
