Cursed Monday
Oct. 7th, 2019 11:35 pmNot because I had a horrible day at work or anything -- I didn't, it was actually pretty quiet and we talked a lot about a process all of us hate that might be changing in the future? Fingers crossed? -- but because the "red curse" started this morning. Fortunately I woke up with the beginning of cramps and recognized them for what they were, so no ruined clothes this time! Have felt pretty tired all day, but -- well, that's just life with my period. Should be feeling a little more myself by the end of tomorrow, at least.
Anyway, a quick wrap-up of my day:
-->Got in both a walk at lunch and a new exercise video after work, go me~
-->Decided the first day of my period would probably not be conducive to proper writing on my new project, so instead decided to add to the "Londerland Bloodlines" timeline -- namely, what happened before the events of the game. Figured having a clearer idea of how the Alice games and Corpse Bride went down in this verse certainly couldn't hurt! And when they happened too. . .I'm thinking both A:MR and CB took place in the first half of 2004, with Alice buggering off maybe roughly a month after killing Bumby (not wanting to draw too much suspicion on herself, but also not wanting to stick around too long?). I'm still figuring it out. It'll all come together eventually!
-->Watched:
A) Another bunch of riddles from Laurenzside -- mostly because 7 Second Riddles DID name a video after her, so yay! Lots of "survival-based" riddles in hers, including one classic troll riddle. XD Good stuff.
B) A Red Plumbob comparison video between Sims 2 witches, Sims 3 witches, and Sims 4 spellcasters (they were GOING to include Sims 1, but figured the video would get too long, and besides being a witch was barely a lifestate in that game -- all you needed was a wand). Interesting to see how magic and magic users have changed over the generations, and I kind of hope someone converts the vacuum broom from Sims 3 for Sims 4. XD
C) Plumbella buying less-than-official Sims merch from a site called "Wish" -- resulted in a decent mouse mat with some trimming issues (as in, they cut off half the Sims 2 logo on the bottom, but it has a great nostalgia effect nonetheless), a nice shirt with the plumbob and "I'm in control" printed on it, a nice sweatshirt with the Sims 4 logo, and a mug that says "I have to go -- My Sims need me" on both sides -- except on one side it's printed upside-down. XD Now that is a fail. She still kept it, though!
D) GrayStillPlays becoming the president in Impeached! -- a game from MINICLIP! Cripes, I remember spending HOURS on that site when I was younger. . . Anyway, it's all about choosing which of two dumb orders to sign into law, then defending your decision in a press conference. Like forcing cyclists to make motorcycle noises with their mouths, or examining all sandals for socks, or making the sky no longer exist. It's as ridiculous as it sounds and I loved it -- and so did Gray. XD The way he's constantly cracking up in his voiceover -- it's delightful.
-->Got my Newcrest Adventure update pictures sorted -- looking like a three-parter this Wednesday. As usual, I've gotten the pictures into my queue, to have the text added tomorrow. This is a system that seems to work, so why mess with it? (Also allows me to come up with good captions when I'm suffering less period brain-fuzz.)
-->Aaaand this was a thing that happened. Yeah, an anon a little while back said that they had a surprise for me, and today the surprise dropped -- a Forgotten Vows Verse fan comic based on a song she felt suited the stories! I was pretty much blown away, as you might imagine. Favorite bit is the look at Victor versus the Boojum -- I think that's one of my favorite parts of "Finding You," sooo XD And Thirteened Victor in this is just CREEPY. I just -- I'm still blown away by how much some people like my stories. Enough to do stuff like this, no less. And all the other fan art I've gotten over the years. And people suggesting their own ideas for AUs, and making their own characters, and -- it's just -- wow. I can only hope people end up liking "Londerland Bloodlines" this much!
And now I have to answer the last comment in my inbox and get myself to bed -- ended up staying up a bit too late last night, and I don't want to repeat that. Especially not on my period. At least I'll have a three-day weekend after all this! That'll be nice.
But that's in the future -- in the now, bed. Night all!
