Not A Black Friday, But A Gray One
Nov. 29th, 2019 11:16 pmAs in, the vast majority of my day was spent watching GrayStillPlays on YouTube. XD Basically, I stumbled across some old episodes of his that I wanted to watch, and that led to me just marathoning as many as I could. I won't bore you with a full recap of each and everyone, but suffice to say we had some fun and fucked-up stuff! XD Notable highlights include:
-->Asrtolager, where Gray played a "physician" in medieval times who read the stars to determine his patients' ailments, and ended up having a hot affair with one of them before being arrested and thrown in gaol because of course Gray was picking all the worst options
-->Mako's Advice, a game where you can only give "yes" or "no" answers to people seeking advice -- not that it matters, as this is a totally fucked-up world where telling someone to eat reveals they want to eat children. It actually reminded me of Doomsday Hotline, both with the art style and the bizarre and creepy answers -- I think they might have been made by the same people! As such, I've decided Mako's Advice is the world that becomes Doomsday Hotline -- would explain a lot. XD
-->Nirvana, that game where you can die from being TOO HAPPY -- which Gray managed again. With a three year old. Who became too excited after playing with a freshly-delivered box of -- weeeeeell, let's just say she thought they were swords. XD
And then his next two lives were both literal assassins, with one being named Maximo. He unfortunately died in his late 30s, but Gray manage to get the other one, Clair, to 94! Killed by Death himself! Go Gray! w0000~
-->Kyle Is Famous, that game where you're a TV Talk Show Host in a world that makes no freaking sense and Kyle can eat his own fridge. And guess what? The game only gets weirder, as today's offerings included:
a) Kyle showing up for work NAKED because Gray forgot to pick out clothes for him -- also, he got a free cellphone by ripping it from the local tech store's wage slave's hand with his teeth
b) Kyle actually doing the damn interview with Rachel. . .after discovering a shred of evidence that she's actually a bank robber based on some news reports on his cell phone; this leads to a pretty epic showdown where Rachel fights the Bug Vigilante XD She ends up going to jail, but then starts a new cooking show there and gets even MORE famous
c) Kyle discovers the body of a long-lost friend under his bed and takes it out on a play date; furthermore, all this love and attention heaped on the corpse actually brings it back to life -- properly, too! No zombie apocalypse! So that's something!
So yeah, all that was amazing. XD Also amazing:
-->Playing some Fallout 4 -- admittedly, today's session consisted of mainly "let's kill all these raiders in the Technical College and steal all their loot," and trying to track down something Piper spotted streaking across the sky. I couldn't figure out where it landed, or even where it was (I only saw the smoke trail it left in the sky), so I ended up Googling what it could be afterwards --
And hold the plot because fucking aliens man. It is seriously and genuinely a crashed UFO. I know what I'm doing next Saturday when I play this again! :D Along with stopping by Sanctuary or the Red Rocket so I can empty out my junk and play around with gun and armor mods. (I have found SO MUCH adhesive :D)
-->Writing a first-draft gift fic for a friend -- as it is Officially After Thanksgiving, I am allowing myself to think of Christmas stuff, and this weekend, that means sorting out at least a few Christmas fics! Hopefully I'll be able to work out good ideas for the other people on my list as well. . . Pretty sure the intended recipient of this one will enjoy it, though. :)
-->Getting my Victor Luvs Alice queue sorted, which is always good -- just glad the damn thing WORKS again, frankly. Working on the Valice Multiverse one now, though I'm having one of those "bouncy" nights where it's a bit tricky to focus -- must try, though, because it is Friday Night Writing Thing night.
-->Read this tumblr post with bits of an early-draft Corpse Bride script and be as amazed as I was I mean, what we got on screen was definitely better, but -- damn, you better believe I'll be using some of these snippets for fanfic fuel! (Also, Emily finally has a last name! Which -- vaguely bugs me as I've already established MY last name for her in fanfics, but will be useful for naming families in my verses/giving Emily aliases as necessary.)
