Socially Exhausting Saturday
Jan. 4th, 2020 11:21 pmYeah, I thought it would be easier to deal with four hours of my aunt, uncle, cousin, and cousin's girlfriend when it was at my own house. . .nope, would probably say it was harder. Mostly because it was happening in my space and thus I couldn't truly get away. *sighs* Being an introvert with an extrovert mother and aunt is tough sometimes. . .
Anyway -- got through the day, doing my best to keep my mood level despite the constant level of LOUD from all the different conversations (and having "Happy Birthday" practically shouted in my ear by my overenthusiastic aunt). Food was -- okay (I'm not sure what was different about the chicken tenders this time around, but there was SOMETHING in the breading that tasted off to me?), and I got my last Christmas and birthday presents. To whit:
-->A hollow dark chocolate snowman (noms)
-->A pair of Bombas brand purple socks (apparently supposed to be super comfortable, and buying a pair means a pair are donated! . . .I just wish someone had told my aunt I really don't like ankle socks)
-->A plush Companion Cube from Portal (official merch! Cubey is very cute and currently sitting by Einstein on my bed :D)
-->The official release of the Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines soundtrack (w0000 -- gonna put that on tonight)
-->A new necklace my aunt thought I might like (it's neat, with a big chunk of some blue stone behind a gold pattern -- yeah, uh, bad description, I'll have to take a picture later)
-->A -- well, I'm not ENTIRELY sure if this is the intended purpose (you have to register to look up anything on the site it came from), but a jewelry holder shaped like a pair of cupped skeletal hands coming out of the ground with roses (yeah, I'm gonna have to take a picture of this one too, I bet. . . also probably gonna have to rearrange my desk to figure out how I'm going to hang my necklaces off it. Mom said that the jewelry is supposed to be held in the cupped hands, but, -- that's not what I wanted? At all? I wanted something where my necklaces could dangle and I wouldn't have to worry so much about knots in the chains or getting tangled with other necklaces? Like they currently are in their boxes?? We'll see how it works. . .)
-->The Annotated H.P. Lovecraft from my cousin and his girlfriend (this thing is ABSOLUTELY GIANT. Like, "could possibly kill a man if you swung it with enough force." I really hope it fits on the one shelf where I have room free. . . Actually feel kinda guilty about this one because it looks expensive and -- it's about an interest that has really waned with me. :( )
So, uh, yeah. At least I got pretty much everything I wanted by this point.
Anyway, yeah, no video games today -- by the time they left, the only thing I wanted to do was sit alone and just browse the web for a while. Also no "Londerland Bloodlines," for much the same reason. I did get up the next chapter of "Scenes From Secundus" though! And did some extensive rewriting on it, so it definitely counts as writing for the day. Have a "pudding" prompt, now with somewhat more explanation for March's mood beyond "lol he's the March Hare and thus mad." (Yeah, felt the original story came off as March being a jerk for no adequately explained reason other than I needed him to be for the humor to work. . .at least now we know why he's grouchy about that pudding!)
On the YouTube front -- before everything started this morning, I checked out all the different opportunities you have to flirt with Piper in Fallout 4, and have become extremely committed to the idea of romancing her. Mainly because she gets so adorably flustered every time you flirt. XD Which means that, unfortunately, I might have to go back and redo something AGAIN to try one of her conversations over and actually try out the FLIRT option there. . .ah well. We'll see what my saves look like the next time I hop in. And this evening, I watched Atop the 4th Wall's "Top 15 Dumbest Evil Plans." Delightful little trip down nostalgia lane there, as Linkara ended up referencing dumb villains and their dumb plans from a lot of the early episodes. Never thought I'd see the "Future 5" referenced again! And Linkara getting on his "Doom" costume is always good for a laugh! XD Plus it looks like we're FINALLY getting a move on with this "Contest of Champions" stuff, as Linkara finally has another opponent to face! A construction worker and wrestler who made a promo video to call Linkara out. The guy playing Heavy Wrex clearly had waaaaay too much fun making it. XD Looking forward to that battle!
And now I'm trying to keep up with some RP over on the Valice Multiverse -- at least my Victor Luvs Alice queue is done, and I already hit the comments in my inbox! Tomorrow -- more Simming fun, I hope. Keep your fingers crossed! Night all!
