Damn That Puzzle
Feb. 23rd, 2020 11:35 pmYeah, I ended up getting distracted by that WAY more than I expected today, starting from almost the moment I woke up. I entirely blame the fact that it's largely DONE at this point -- we had to move the couch and look through the cushions to find a couple of missing pieces, but at this point pretty much every stray gap is filled in, and we just have to do the part in the upper middle. So my brain is a bit like "FINISH LINE FINISH LINE FINISH LINE" which -- is good for the PUZZLE, but not so good for anything else. Add in an additional source of distraction in TV Tropes, a late lunch due to my parents going out, and me getting sucked into reading tumblr blogs, and -- yeah, I didn't get nearly as much accomplished today as I was hoping. Certainly not in the sense of clearing out my YouTube Watch Later list!
I did get SOME things done, though:
-->Played Sims 4 and initiated the McFly/McTest Lot Swap! This took a little thinking, but I managed it via a) moving Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker to a spare lot in the "retail" section of town, selling their house but keeping all their furniture (as I didn't care about the house but wanted them to keep their items); b) saving the McFlys' house to my library and plonking it down on the old McTest lot; c) having the McFlys move to the copy of their house, selling all the stuff in their old version so they could afford it; d) bulldozing the old house so Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker could move to now-empty lot. So everyone still has all their stuff, the McFlys still have their house (as I wanted to save it, as I've put a lot of time into it!), and Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker have a nice blank lot where I can put a new, better house for them later! :) Nice.
So yeah, McFlys now on new, bigger lot, and already it looks a lot nicer and less cramped than their old digs. :) They have a real backyard, with a fence and everything! I also made the house a tiny bit bigger, fixed the roof, upgraded a bunch of the lights, adjusted the first floor rooms so the hallway was a bit wider and there's an actual exit to the back yard from the house, added a third bathroom on the second level, (half-bath, so the kids have a toilet of their own), rearranged some of the furniture. . .yeah, went into full renovator mode and before I knew it two hours had passed. XD And, as usual, I'm not quite done -- upgrading a few things, rearranging a few others. . .the house itself is pretty much set, barring a few other tweaks (just occurred to me I probably have to fix the roof again), but I still need to properly set up the backyard. Next Sunday! :)
-->Finished up edits on Chapter 4 of "Secundus 2!" I had just over a page to go, so I figured I'd just go ahead and get it done. :D So yeah, we're on track for three updates in a row for the next three weeks. Chapter 5 edits start on Tuesday!
-->Watched the latest episode of "Rags To Repayment" from James -- now that Trash is level 10 in Gardening skill, she can buy rare seed packets! . . .Which includes Death Flowers. *sigh* James, however, has decided that since they have put all this EFFORT into making the damn things, they are going to continue with adventures in splicing. He's already got an orchid growing thanks to a previous splice, so things are good there. :) Bob is also doing well as a scientist -- he made level 3 in the career, so they're on-track to get that cloning machine to clone the eventual ambrosia. :p Despite James nearly missing a work goal because HE WON'T READ THE FULL TOOLTIPS. . .seriously, James, I love you, but that is FRUSTRATING how you won't read sometimes. *grumbles*
-->Watched Gray's latest Sim Experiment -- 100 Sims in 100 Grill Cubicles of Death! The idea was to see who, if anyone, could make it to level 10 cooking skill before everyone started setting themselves on fire. But, thanks to a combination of a Cursed lot and barbecue fires being what Gray's Sims are best at, the highest cooking skill anyone achieved was level three. And the person who achieved it didn't even survive the challenge -- she died at the last minute! Not to mention, half the people died of embarrassment from peeing themselves, AND two of the "judge" Sims -- Gray's usual cast of misfits -- drowned themselves in the pool. A perfect GrayStillPlays Sims video, is what I'm saying. :p
-->And now I'm just wrapping up my VictorLuvsAlice queue for the night because I've answered all the stuff in my inbox, yay~
And then it's off to bed, because work is still a thing that exists, booo. Already trying to plan out my next day or two off. . .but I gotta get through this week first. At least February is almost over. Night all!
