crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Yeah, apparently they skipped a week this week so "The Masked Singer" could have an extra-long episode or something, grr. *pouts* I was looking forward to the semi-finals. . .ah well, guess it's something to look forward to next week. They've been doing some amazing builds so far, and I want to see who takes home the grand prize!

Other than that, though, I had a pretty decent Wednesday:

-->Not a lot going on at work -- couple of e-mails, that was about it. Though I have to remember to get on a little earlier tomorrow, because there's a possibility we'll be having some sort of virtual meeting about an upgrade to the database that's coming up. (I say "possibility" because the time was never actually approved by my boss, which is -- a little frustrating.) Also got a memo officially stating that we've been "furloughed" (which is "laid off but not really") and reminding us that if we're gonna apply for unemployment, we should do so this Friday. Aye aye, Human Resources!

-->Spent the morning catching up on tumblr, updating my Victor Luvs Alice queue a little more, drafting some stuff, and working on ideas for future queues a bit more (with a focus on updating my "I AM Gonna Write You A Love Song" playlist/AU with some new songs and reordering some old ones now that I think I have a better sense of where they SHOULD fit into the timeline). Also got all my pictures for the next Newcrest Adventures update sorted (the McFlys celebrating SimCity Founding and going to that water park I downloaded). I appreciate my ability to get this shit done in the morning, it's very useful. :p

-->Caught up on my Sims videos:

A) A video by Fantayzia on two Sims 4 save files she likes -- one from SimLicy, and good old Plumbella's! Both of them look awesome, and I am again impressed by people who will do things like, you know, completely remake every world in the game and make it more awesome than it was. :D

B) Three mod videos from itsmeTroi -- a look at an early access version of an "after school activities" mod; more mods for people who want realistic game play (I have learned that I don't feel the need for my gameplay to be as realistic as some of these mods make it -- though I am again impressed by Slice of Life); and some mod updates (which was useful because now I know to wait until April 10th or so before getting a certain mod I want -- apparently "SrslySims Complete Cooking Overhaul" will be getting a big update then! At least, for those not on her Paetron, which I am not). Always worth a look in case you stumble on something interesting! And there were some new social events that intrigued me. . .

C) James Turner went back to Gallery builds -- this time, with a minigame in mind! He had people hide an object for him to find in their builds, and picked his five favorites to search today. It was a blast, both because of the fun ways people hid stuff, and because the lots were frankly amazing. I am SO IMPRESSED by every builder in this game, I swear. The first one was my favorite, as it had a cute little in-build trail for James to follow to find a certain cat statue hidden in their cityscape. XD Not that Judith Ward's mansion didn't impress either. . . Anyway, James managed to find four out of five items -- he couldn't locate a Baby Yoda hidden in the third build, which was a very old-school mansion. The creator let him know that it's in one of the kids' rooms -- but that there might be something iffy with the Gallery, as some people are reporting they can't find it at all when they try downloading it. . .I guess we'll see in a future episode?

D) And Plumbella returned to The Sims 2 Castaway Stories to spend more time on her private island with Meeeee Bitch. XD Progress was made, if slowly -- Meeee has an axe now, a proper bed under a roof, and a fishing rod. And she's making friends with the local chimps, so, that's something. Slowly but surely making this island her own! When it isn't scaring her with random earthquakes/possible volcanic eruptions, anyway. XD

-->Also played Sims 4 myself -- though, given I got to it a bit late in the day, I decided what I was going to do was add in the file I downloaded for this mega-set of TS2-to-4 A:MR conversions by Aurora Borealis, then go to the A-Maze-Ing Wonderland Park and take a look at what was inside of it.

ALL OF THE THINGS. ALL OF THE THINGS WERE INSIDE OF IT.

Those pictures? Barely scratch the SURFACE. There are CHARACTER MODELS, people. There are actual CHARACTER MODELS of the Carpenter, the Walrus, the Dormouse, the March Hare, the QUEEN OF HEARTS. There are so many little details taken from the game. So many BIG details coming from the game -- there's this HUGE backdrop of dollhouses taken from the Dollhouse level, and giant cranes from Hatter's Domain, and it's just -- amazing. I have started making over A-Maze-Ing Wonderland with these items, and I have gone and downloaded a bunch more for later use because we also had this master post of conversions! :D Definitely got those playable dollhouses, and the piano. :D Apparently, the April Quarantine is when I finally decide "screw it, I'm filling my game with mods and CC." XD

-->And got in a workout -- short one, but it's better than nothing! And the shorter ones tend to be a little more intense, so I think it all balances out in the end. :)

So yeah, not too bad a day. Time to wrap things up and get to bed, where hopefully I will fall asleep easier than I did last night. Tomorrow -- well, we'll see what work brings, but I intend for it to be "podcast day" -- I've had an interview with Ellen McLain, voice actor behind GLaDOS, sitting in my Watch Later for what feels like FOREVER, plus the latest episode of the "Wyrd Sisters Podcast" to catch up on (Lords and Ladies! This'll be fun). Plus more playing around with Sims 4 and dumping my new content into the game. :D Hope you're all doing well, folks! Night!
