crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
Had some stressful moments -- lot of people calling in for weird stuff, and more demands on my time than I would like near the end of the work day -- plus getting out of the parking lot was a task and a half -- but since there was less general moodiness around, it wasn't quite as oppressive. Plus the weather was gorgeous -- low 70s! Wind was picking up by the time I actually got home, but it wasn't enough to stop us playing our beanbag toss game. Dad won the first two games (I had a great start in the second game but wasn't QUITE able to pull out the win), and then I managed to win the third with Mom not able to get the throw to keep her lead. :) So that was all pretty nice!

Also pretty nice -- doing well on the old to-do list:

1. Get in a workout: Check – finished off Episode 3 of “Nuka-World Level One Survival” while on the bike today! Caught up with Minnie as she continued her assault on the Galactic Zone in hopes of a hazmat suit – did she survive the encounter?

Ultimately not – she made it through the initial Mr. Frothy and Nukatron Guardian, but then a swarm of eyebots backed up by another Mr. Frothy took her out. So Jon decided on a different tactic – send Minnie in through the side, hoping to trigger a fight between some Disciples and Super Mutants to get some better gear and maybe find a way to get past those damn robots!

This – almost worked. She got caught in a radstorm as she made her way out, then got rushed while fighting ghouls by a surprise Reaver (Jon managed to avoid saying “fuck,” but I get the feeling it was only just XD), then had to dodge some Cave Crickets. . .only to discover on the way back that the fight she was hoping would trigger was apparently a random event and today wasn’t her lucky day. Fortunately, she did manage to get into the Galactic Zone itself, easing her way around the Nuka-themed Assaultrons without waking them up. . .but then a swarm of eyebots kept surprising Jon on a set of stairs (he commented that he knows he’s not very observant, but really, the way these things kept ending up in his face. . .) and between them and some badly-placed laser turrets, that ended his run.

All right, new tactics – time to try it with Power Armor! This allowed Minnie to take a few hits, and actually REACH Star Control (Jon’s ultimate destination) – but the two Mr. Frothys up top proved to be too much even for the Overboss’s hardy armor. A frustrated Jon traded the guns for the rocket bat he found in the Pack’s area, happily beating to death everything in his path – but again, those two Mr. Frothys took him down. Jon ended Episode 3 rethinking all his strategies, as well he might. We’ll see what the new plan is when we officially start Episode 4!

2. Work some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! With a quick stop off at her motel room to pick up her effects (some clothes, the picture of her family, and Mr. Bunny, mainly) and a few musings on how she’s unlikely to see her family again and how she wishes she’d never started this journey, Alice has walked off into the night and ended Chapter One!

On page thirty-fucking-nine. *facepalm* This series really is going to be an absolute monster. . .well, I decided I had to write about the vampires; time to see how long it takes me!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Two in the list today --

A) Started with Call Me Kevin and another round of Bitlife – today, Kevin decided he was going to become a doctor! Dr. Smartmandude, to be precise. XD Smartmandude had a bit of a rough start – constantly kind of depressed and dumb – but everything changed the minute he put himself to the task of reading the entire Miriam-Webster dictionary. Suddenly he was the smartest and most popular person around – getting high grades all through medical school (which his mother paid for), having a fling with his teacher (Samantha Dangle – married to Call Me Kevin XD), landing a good job as a junior psychiatrist, and even getting a nice pre-made family! With a wife who didn’t mind getting married in a drive-thru with no honeymoon! XD Granted, things started getting a little dicey in his later years – his wife ended up divorcing him because he reminded her of her brother; he filed a restraining order against Samantha after too many sexy texts – and when he tried to rekindle the romance later, she filed a restraining order against him, leading to him becoming a stalker; he rumbled with his hated coworker Kaylee after getting investigated by HR for giving her too many gifts in a desperate attempt to make her like him; his second wife died early into their marriage after arguing with him about losing money at the casino (admittedly they were both pretty old at this point); and he did become a bit of a problem gambler for a while in an attempt to afford a luxury yacht. XD But even with that, he had a shockingly successful life – and a LONG one too. Smartmandude didn’t die until 119! Kevin was thoroughly confused by all this, and I don’t blame him. XD

B) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and Happy Wheels! We had some truly killer boards today, including a pogo-jump of harpoons, mines, wrecking balls, and FPS-killing unfairness (where Gray won but wasn’t sure how because of the FPS-killing unfairness – I guess he was alive JUST LONG ENOUGH for it to count); a rope swing where if you didn’t hit the last rope at JUST the right time at JUST the right angle, you were completely screwed (Gray was completely screwed a LOT); a “pain therapy” course full of sai “butterflies,” various rocket jumps, and other absolute lunacy (Gray ended up grabbing one of the rockets and using it to fly to victory after losing most of his limbs); a long and difficult spike fall (Gray found the best way to beat it was to fall just barely off the spikes on one side, which – was tricky); a trash run (a bottle run over trash cans – Gray handled it pretty well in only like two or three attempts); and a fairly epic “neon glass break” (many many walls of stabby glass – Gray lost a leg, but made it to the end!). Good times, as per usual. :)

C) And then, just for funsies, a few OXShorts videos, including Luke being wowed by a majestic eagle (for an Assassin’s Creed thing), Jane getting surprise-murdered by the one spaceperson she didn’t think would do it in Among Us, and Luke accidentally setting up a perfect stack kill for another impostor in a different Among Us stream. XD Nice to have little bite-sized bits of OX-goodness!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Wednesday and Thursday posts in the queue for Victor Luvs Alice, and a couple of reblogs for Valice Multiverse as I have no asks or threads running currently. (Though I did send OUT a few asks for a change – one person pinged me for a prompt they wanted, and I was just intrigued by another.)

Not too shabby -- especially since I have a little bit of extra time tonight thanks to my day off tomorrow. :) Do have to get up earlier than my normal day off to get my shot, but still -- I'll take a more relaxed bedtime! And the extra day off too. . .here, let's get the non-standard to-do list set up:

1. Watch at least the OXBox list videos in my Watch Later and keep up on YouTube Subs

2. Write some more on "In A World Of His Own"

3. Play Sims 4 (start Eric's Paranormal Stuff Newcrest Adventures)

4. Get in a workout

5. Keep up on tumblr queues

Granted, there is a small chance that more work on the hypno-snippets and a trip back to the Chill Save might be substituted in for items 2 and 3 tomorrow. . .we'll see how things go! As it stands, I've got some stuff in my inbox to answer, so I should get on that before I head off for the night. . . Night all!
