crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
Even though it was just as cold, and probably a bit colder. . .a few more interruptions today thanks to laundry and my aunt stopping by to drop off some sparkling apple cider for me as a late Christmas present (I enjoyed it once on a past visit, so. . .not complaining!), and me feeling a bit grumpier. I think PMS may be starting to rear its ugly head -- next weekend WOULD be prime time for the red curse to hit, sooo. . .

Even with those grumpy moments, though, I still had a good day:

1. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check! Finally started Chapter 7, with Victor and Alice meeting up at the Liddell memorial park in Oxford to head Downstairs and catch up with Alice’s family. After a little solo musing (well, as solo as Alice’s musings ever get thanks to Wonderland) from Alice about how she would have liked to have known about said park earlier, and how even with Victor’s reassurances, she’s still worried about her family somehow blaming her for what happened all those years ago. *pats her* Don’t worry, Alice – once you get down there, you’ll see for sure just how much your parents and sister have missed you.

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, see about watching the OXBox Who's Your Daddy stream of Andy vs Mike: Check – took a little longer as I had more Subs than expected, plus the long stream, but I did clear them all out sooner rather than later –

A) As I hinted yesterday, decided to get the longest video out of the way right after lunch – Mike vs Andy in Who’s Your Daddy, a game about a baby determined to murder itself and a father just trying to keep it alive for five minutes. (Jane was present just to spectate and make awful jokes.) The game is – something else, let me tell you. Both Dad and Baby have multiple creepy skins you can use (including “basically crash test dummies” and “absurdly cute cartoon”), and there are a plethora of ways to murder yourself as the baby – from the super-easy standby of “fork in the wall socket” to rather more complex methods, like poisoning yourself by eating vent covers and random rats. Or driving your baby car around and around in circles and bouncing it off the trampoline until you get sick. Or CRASHING THE ACTUAL VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE INTO THE FENCE. Yes, the baby can drive the car – they can even drive their dad around! And they can also ride the family bulldog – not into the woodchipper, though, stymieing Mike and Andy’s attempt at a grand finale. XD It was a very goofy, chill stream (yes, even with all the baby murder) and a fun time. (And hey, I even got an answer as to why the OXBox Xmas Champion and the OXtra Xmas Champion have never gone head-to-head – basically, scheduling! It’s so busy for both channels they’ve never set such an event up. However, they like the idea and might try it for 2022. Would be cool, right?)

B) Then, because I’d seen it earlier and was intrigued, watched a clip of Call Me Kevin from one of his Twitch streams, playing GeoGuessr – and, to his own shock, finding himself next to a strip mall where he’d worked briefly! VERY briefly – he was there for two weeks doing training for the CeX store that he used to own, before the car accident and transitioning to full-time YouTube. Said the people were nice, but the training was nonsense – then shared another fun story where he’d gone to a DIFFERENT store to do that training (driving four hours up), only to find the supervisor had no idea he was there to train as a franchisee instead of an employee, and nobody knew what was going on – they tried to give him stock checks to do, but Kevin refused and said he’d come back the next day; next day he came in and the manager banned him. XD Oh dear, he’s led an interesting life, our Kevin. . .

C) Then, this evening, we had a surprise return – one James Turner, updating his Cottage Living LP! Yeah, I was shocked too. Apparently he checked, and it’s been two months since he actually played, the poor bastard. XD Anyway, everything on the farm is chaos. The Bigwallets now have a fancy new house, but keeping up with the chores is, as usual, a constant struggle; the toddler is basically free-range, and her own mother took the roast chicken James told her to eat; James had to get rid of the nice pan rack on the ceiling because the stupid thing was blocking access to the fridge and stove (something I myself have had to deal with, as you may recall); the oversized crops are planted, but keeping up with the weeding and crop growth is – a struggle to say the least; everyone keeps getting either hit by lightning or eaten by the cow plant when James isn’t looking; it’s constantly storming; and Trenton is supposed to be delivering a photo to the Grocery Deliverer, but he can’t find the right person as per the board listing all the important NPC sims. Also the damn water tower that James set up didn’t work correctly and it appears to be the fault of the platform he stuck in there. Which – he no longer recalls why he did that, soooo. . . XD Basically all is madness and it’s a delightful return to form for the channel.

D) Then it was over to the ACTUAL Call Me Kevin video of the day – playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales as the awful asshole J. Jonah Jameson always claimed he was! XD This largely consisted of completing missions in the most violent ways possible – flinging mailboxes around, kicking criminals into the ocean whenever possible (and then joining them for a brief swim because Kevin was curious), dancing around on top of a car with a kidnapped woman inside to get XP instead of saving her, walking very slowly to fix the comms for an EMT trying to help with a burning building because he wants to dance and do finger guns at people to feed his ego, and taking pictures with the kidnapped woman and defeated criminals for his very biased Instagram page. XD But, as Kevin said, the tagline of the game includes the phrase “Be Yourself,” and we all know being a dick to NPCs, even as a superhero stopping crime, is definitely Kevin. . .

E) And finally, we had GrayStillPlays and Stickman Escape! The thumbnail suggested “bone-break game,” but it’s actually one of those mobile “pick the right choice to continue the story” games, starring a discount Henry Stickman and his bikini-ed girlfriend. The first arc involved Discount Henry having to save said girlfriend from the Discount Squid Games, which involved taking a motorized wheelchair into a high-speed car pursuit (lest you crash the car and destroy the cat sitting atop it), distracting guards with a slingshot (because punching them just gets you punched back), and making sure to fling your gun instead of shooting it when you rescue your girlfriend (both cause her head trauma, but the one where you shoot, it’s lethal). The second was about Discount Henry HIMSELF getting kidnapped by the Discount Squid Games and needing to escape – an escape where you must give a guard dog a bone instead of a piece of meat (lest he develop a taste for human flesh), upset a cat to distract some guards (as they are very good at playing “hot potato” with grenades), but be kind to a rat with a piece of cheese (because flinging a rock only gets you torn to bits by his giant mutant family members). Otherwise known as the usual kind of makes-no-sense lunacy Gray (still) plays!

3. Play Sims 4 and either start a new building project or do some CAS funtimes with my idea for Sim!Smiler: Ended up doing the latter after popping into the game, creating “Smiler Always” as my first made-in-CAS vampire! Took full advantage of those glowy yellow eyes vampires can have in both their forms, and did a lot of searching through the catalog for appropriately-garish outfits, generally in yellow (as yellow is associated a lot with the ride, though I did branch out into other colors occasionally). Their dark form is even WORSE with the makeup I chose. XD Their starting aspiration is to be “Friend of the World” (felt appropriate for a ride that’s all about brainwashing people to be happy and compliant), and they’re Erratic, Cheerful, and a Music Lover. They love yellow and purple but hate gray; love pop music and strange tunes; and are fond of robotics, dancing, and media production (the ride has a load of screens on it, so that felt right). I’ve currently got them living in Britechester in the Chill Save – thinking that, after I’ve sent Victor and Alice on their honeymoon to Selvadorada and gotten through in-game New Year’s, I’ll swap over to them for a bit, and maybe have them study Psychology at Foxbury and upgrade their vampire powers while introducing them to Victor and Alice. He can be the vampire that turns Alice! :) Should be fun!

4. Work on tumblr queues (specifically pictures for next Chill Save update): Check – I’ve got the pictures for said next Chill Save update (the graduation) all sorted, and I have half the update in my VictorLuvsAlice drafts so far – just gotta finish the text and do the post for the last five pictures! Also grabbed something else from the “#fallout4” tag to stick in there too, which is good – building up potential buffer!

5. Get in a workout: No check – between the long stream video and taking quite a while in CAS once I got into Sims 4, I just never got down there. Ah well, I’ll get back to Egbert and company saving the paladins in their own unique way later!

Four out of five, not too shabby. And I was already thinking I might not get to the workout when I got into Sims 4 kinda late, sooo. . .look, I got a lot of chocolate goodness today, I'm happy. :p

Anyway -- keeping an eye on both tumblrs and doing some chatting, so let's get the next to-do list going and hit the road:

1. Continue updating Sole!Victor's playthrough progress and see about updating my Sims document with my CC and mods some more

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, watch Plumbella's latest video and Jon's F:NV "Utter Chaos" video

3. Play Fallout 4 and actually get to Corvega

4. Work on tumblr queues

5. Get in a workout

You know, the usual Sunday stuff! Nothing too taxing -- especially since we're due some rain to wash away at least some of the snow. But then it's getting REALLY cold midweek next week. . .ah, January. *shakehead* Night all!
