crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
At least in terms of temperature, where it didn't get above freezing all day. . .at least I was in a nice warm office building most of the day! And it provided a good excuse to drink hot chocolate for dessert. Om nom~

As for the bulk of the day --

Work – Well, there was a rough start, thanks to my work computer not handling some Windows updates well, forcing me to restart so it would stop running like ass, but after that, it was fine. Did the GL, looked up stuff, did obits, put on a big check, did some credit card calls over the phone, all that fun stuff. Nothing too stressful, and I am glad of it. Happy weekend!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and naturally back to Jon’s final Unpacking video, with Claire and the stream chat! There was a lot of discussion about things like if the boyfriend the Protagonist broke up with had an age gap with her on top of everything else (Claire thought so because she felt the apartment was too put-together for someone in their early twenties); copper cookware and how good it is for cooking (apparently very, and don’t get Claire’s dad started on the subject, he’ll talk your ear off); what certain things in the Protagonist’s life are (like her little pet – someone said it was a scorpion, but Jon and Claire are reasonably sure it’s a beetle; also she seems to have stolen her old boyfriend’s incense burner); and how many feminine products someone needs (Claire told Jon that you want options XD). Along the way, they did put together the level of “moving back into the parents house” – Jon was thrilled to find that the Protagonist was still doing her art and learning the ukulele, and was ADAMANT that her creative stuff all went on her desk and her diploma on the wall. It’s very cute how invested he’s become in her story. :) (Also, yes, he did figure out the fridge magnets – and he got to see how, if you put the picture of her with the boyfriend on the corkboard, she puts the pin in the guy’s face. XD Jon attempted to both hide it under the bed or bin it, but the game is pretty adamant about hiding it in the old cupboard, shame.) Onto the “moving out on my own” level next time!

2. Continue editing Chapter 4 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – got through the fight scene of Alice versus the Blood Guardian in Gallery Noir! It wasn’t a pretty fight – Alice took her fair share of hits, and her clothes are damn well ruined now (and after she just managed to stop them getting too soiled in the fight with Stanley Gimble). BUT, on the plus side, she beat the bastard with the help of her knife and a stake made from a picture frame. And her fangs, because, well, blood guardian. Om nom. XD And I’m only one page away now from the end of the chapter! Guess I’m changing up my usual weekend writing tomorrow!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – three-in, three-out Friday –

A) Started with this week’s Fun With Shorts – “Freedom 2000,” Part 3! It’s the last bit of that animated short that I THOUGHT was going to be aliens commenting on how we’re destroying the environment, but is instead aliens extolling how great capitalism and American democracy is (via the use of silly cartoons of calculator salesman competing for the money of a guy doing his taxes in this case). They DID mention that “oh hey, they’re ruining the environment” at the very end, but were oh so confident big business would do the right thing and curb waste. . .Josh was incredibly salty about it all, and it was great. XD

B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin and 7 Days To Die: The Survival Horde Crafting Game! Yes, that is genuinely the subtitle. O.o It’s an open-world sandbox game that is part “first person zombie shooter” and part “survival sim!” You wake up alone and naked in the world, and have to find shelter and supplies, defend yourself against zombies, and do tasks for the NPCs to buy better kit. Kevin’s character initially tried to set up in an old house they stumbled across (after seeing what would happen if they cut down a tree on top of it – for science (tree just clips right through, if you’re curious)), but the fact that it was literally falling apart, ill-defended from zombies, far away from the trader, and he died there after a boar broke his leg on the premises made Kevin abandon it for a much nicer house he found while trying to do a supply retrieval mission for the trader. Which he failed when he died on it, but still. XD He spent some time fixing the house up to look nice (and then re-fixed the door when a zombie tried to tear it down), then did a couple of missions for the trader – a very simple “kill all the zombies in this camp” mission that only had two zombies in cloth tents, and a “retrieve the supplies from this locale” mission that ended up being a much harder zombie fight. His rewards? Ammo, which he used to buy brass knuckles, and pipe bombs, which he used to try and blow up the store. XD I love seeing him play games like this, so I’m hoping this one becomes a thing on the channel for a while!

C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and more Stickman Backflip Killer 3, the game where you can have Agent 47 dual-wielding sledgehammers! XD And, oh dear oh dear oh dear – Gray found a way to hack the game. XD Doing things like changing the gravity (either sending all of his sticks into space, or crushing them all to win the level without even trying), altering the jump force (allowing Deadpool to leap up and basically waterslide down an incline of foes to destroy them), and playing with the blood force (aka how much blood comes out when you kill people or get injured – turns out you can crank that up QUITE A BIT, to make Discount Batman just fountain out gallons of blood every time he twitches). Along the way, he also came to grips with some of the later boards’ game design, such as swinging from ropes, pressing buttons to drop saws on people, and blowing people up with player-activated TNT bombs. Some of the later puzzles got pretty complex! And honestly, you could argue that Gray’s hacks, especially with gravity, ended up making things HARDER for himself. . .but damn if it wasn’t fun to watch. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, again in a minimal sense – one ask reply, which took longer than I expected to finish because I had to make sure I was setting it in the right verse. *sigh* In the queue now, though!

Not bad, not bad -- especially with me juggling talking to people at the end there because, you know, Friday night and all. Speaking of which, gotta get the Saturday to-dos up. At least I don't have to schedule cleaning this weekend!

1. Finish editing Chapter 4 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, watch the two OX lists in the Watch Later

3. Play Sims 4 and see if I can get Victor and Alice to the Selvadoradan temple

4. Work on my "Pictures" folder to clean up some stuff and see about some "Valicetine" ideas

Yeah, that last one is one I've been meaning to do for a while, honestly. . .and while it's not QUITE Valicetine season, I do already have some ideas. Thank the new romance mods. XD Anyway, we'll see how I do on those tomorrow. . .night all!
