A Very Ugh Monday
Feb. 7th, 2022 11:33 pmWhich I believe is summed up very ably by the first two entries on my usual update form for weekdays:
Work – Meeeh. Most of the morning was taken up with the GL, then the afternoon was largely looking up people’s addresses to try and get back out some returned mail – with a break for the damn fire alarm to go off. On a cold and rainy/sleety day, no less. We got to wait in a nearby building while the firefighters went in and checked it out, at least. No sign of a fire, so I’m not sure what tripped the alarm. Still, an unpleasant moment – and that’s when one of my supervisors started getting chatty, and – ugh. Couple that with an overly-trafficky ride home, and – yeah.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: No check, because I was waiting with Mom while she called up Boost Mobile TWICE to try and get my phone activated (the sim card came today, in an unnecessarily big box because BM are idiots). Long story short, we both waited around roughly an hour and a half to learn that the sim card they sent me apparently was already activated in someone else’s Galaxy phone. No, I don’t know how the fuck that works, beyond possibly the same ID number being printed on two cards. Apparently a second one will be coming this week for us to try, and I am just – I’m tired. I really am. So much for this being a better deal, given that this is TWO sim cards we haven’t been able to use. Should have just bought a cheap crap phone from Tracphone, given how much I plan to actually use the damn thing.
2. Continue editing Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – Alice has finally figured out the “daughters of Janus” nickname that Wonderland has assigned the Voerman sisters – namely, that it means they’re two distinct personalities inhabiting the same body. And now she gets to watch them yell at each other over their differences while trying to keep them from killing each other – or her. Oooh boy, that’ll be fun, won’t it, Alice? Good thing I’ve played this game a lot and know what to say. XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – only two today, which is good, given that the whole phone sim card thing lead to a late dinner and thus a very late start for me on the computer. . .
A) Video #1, Call Me Kevin playing The Sims 4 – with a chaos mod! Yes, there is much randomization now, and it is playing hell with Jim Picken’s life. Mostly because everything keeps getting set on fire randomly. XD Most of his gaggle of neglected children have been whisked away, though Kevin keeps adding to the adoption pool via forcing other women to become pregnant. Including a woman turned into a SKELETON. Who whisked Jim away on a journey to Batuu. Where the cantina got set on fire randomly. And the skeleton went to put it out before Jim managed to call the local fire brigade. And then Kevin ended the vacation, the skeleton had triplets, and she finally figured out how to put her flesh back on. XD We also had Jim briefly burn to death from overheating, before his current roommate successfully pleaded with the Reaper to get him back; Agnes Crumplebottom die of starvation, before one of her clones fought a man in the town square; Jim get randomly engaged to a woman via one of those new Neighborhood Stories pop-ups; Jim randomly turn into an ALIEN accompanying the skeleton the hospital; Jim join the Detective career and swipe a bunch of stuff from the crime scene. . .while naked; the police station nearly burn down, taking one prisoner with it; and Jim going out on a date and ending up first a proper celebrity, then possessed by the Mother Plant. As Kevin said, though, at least he’s happy? XD
B) Video #2, GrayStillPlays and Popular Girls, another shitty mobile game for all your shitty mobile game needs! This one is all about becoming a popular girl in high school – a process that involves things like choosing the right clothes, the right friends, and the right combination of food to dump on the girl who’s flirting with your boyfriend in the lunchroom. XD Gray did his absolute best throughout the game to try and get his popularity as low as possible, but it proved to be a more difficult process than first anticipated – for example, did you know that paying attention in class and saying “I got this” for exams actually brings your popularity UP? But choosing chicken in the cafeteria brings it down. As does tripping over books in the hallway maze. But you can make up for it all by wearing a dress with a boob window and bunny ears, and collecting a gaggle of boys to follow your every move in the hallway maze. It was just – so weird, even Gray was having trouble keeping up with it. XD Ah well, at least he had fun filling the wastebasket mini-game level with trash. . .
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got the text done on the main two posts of my Chill Save update this week, and – most of it done on the third. Because I needed a third to explain why there’s suddenly a new vampire character named Smiler Always in the Chill Save and why we’ll be following their adventures for a little bit. ^^; I just need to finish that up and do the tags tomorrow – shouldn’t be too difficult! Especially if I get my evening back instead of doing more phone nonsense. . .
*sigh* At least I'm still making good progress on Chapter 5, and I'm still ahead of the game when it comes to tumblr drafts! Just hope Tuesday goes a little better work and work-out wise. . . Night all!
