It was a good forty degrees cooler today than yesterday -- I don't think it ever actually got above freezing. Temperature seemed to hover around 30 F most of the day. *sighs* My brain doesn't like these temperature roller coasters -- the warm days give it too much hope about winter being over with!

On the plus side -- miserable weather tomorrow equals a day off for me. :) Yes, just like at the beginning of January, the fact that this winter storm will be affecting the morning commute the worst means that they gave us the day off! w000! I've actually gotten a surprising amount of time off this February for a month that, now that we no longer have President's Day, doesn't USUALLY have any. . . Half a day for the last bad storm; my own vacation day on Valentine's; half-day for the 150th anniversary of the Diocese. . . I mean, I'll take it all, it's just a bit weird. :p

Anyway! First up, the round-up for today:

Work – A fairly quiet day that stayed fairly quiet for the most part, fortunately – though there were a couple of annoying phone calls, and some surprise exceptions at the very end (though one of my coworkers and I ended up splitting those up). I ended the day a little grumpy, but not nearly as much as yesterday, soo. . .win, I guess? :p

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – more time on the bike, and more time with the OxSong Livestream! Ellen and Mike continued fighting (and dying) their way through Shadow Over Mystara (Mike swapping back to more fighting-focused characters – first a dwarf, then a fighter with a kick he liked so much he got an achievement for using it so much) while Johnny answered some more questions (like if they’ve ever done something to help the Oxventurers not die – they admitted to making the skeleton fight at the end of their trip to Bumble easier, but that was more for the purposes of time than helping out the Oxventurers in particular; also they seem to like some of the randomness of the “wild magic” of DnD, which makes me wonder if any of THAT is gonna come up in future adventures. . .), and Andy read comments (apparently an episode of Oxventure showing up in someone’s subscriptions helped them through a suicidal moment! Wow) and encouraged people to donate so they could hit $25K before the next showing of the music video and show some more behind the scenes footage. It came RIGHT down to the wire, but just as the “video games and AJA hour” wrapped up, they hit their goal! :D I left it off right before the next replay of the music video – after that, behind-the-scenes, and after THAT, terrible cocktails! XD Yay!

2. Continue editing Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – back to the future, so to speak. XD Alice has just left the Voermans finally working on maybe getting along for once, and has run into E, Lily, and Rosa outside, wanting to say goodbye before they head off to Oregon. Alice exchanged some pleasant words with them, and Rosa gave her some bits of advice for free – whom she can trust least (and Alice has already recognized LaCroix’s description), and telling her not to let someone go if she wants a happy ending. I think we can tell who THAT is. ;) But yeah, getting back into the swing of things with this chapter – just gotta get her a snack, then it’s off to meet Bertram!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – another two-in, two-out, plus bonus video –

A) Started with some Plumbella in the Watch Later – “My Wedding Stories is still broken even after the update!” Yup, pack released yesterday, pack is still buggy as all hell. :( A few little things are fixed (the ring-exchange animation no longer loops constantly, for example), and it’s easier to get a FEW activities to actually go off in things like the Bach Party and whatnot, but – well, Sims are still more obsessed with talking to each other over actually doing the things the player tells them to do; the fanciest “spousal kiss” still has a fucked-up animation; the wedding cakes, though they look beautiful, go off SUPER quickly, and just – it’s impossible to have a good wedding without copious use of cheats or mods. :( Also if you get it, your base-game weddings are gone, meaning you can’t have a proper goaled wedding and reap the rewards. I went from kind of anticipating this pack and being sad my Victors and Alices were already married to going “I don’t think I’m buying this ever” and being RELIEVED they were. Hell, as I said in my comment, I might not be buying any more Sims 4 packs PERIOD if this is what we have to look forward to. I’ll stay with what I’ve got and find what fixes I need to to make THEM work.

B) Then it was over to James Turner for a Sims 4 video of his own – making his own personal dream wedding venue! . . .the troll recreated the fucking Jedi temple from the Star Wars prequels and did an entirely-Batuu-themed build, with a bit of wedding stuff here and there. XD To be fair, you could see it took him a LOT of effort (all those fiddly roof pieces!), and it actually looked pretty awesome when he was done. I may personally reject all things Batuu, but his enthusiasm for the stupid pack is honestly almost endearing at this point. And apparently he’s going to use it at least once – he has a video coming up! Comparing how a wedding works WITHOUT a certain Carl’s fixes to one WITH same. . .that’ll be interesting.

C) And finally we had Call Me Kevin and another Minecraft challenge – or, rather, another [redacted]craft challenge, as he wasn’t allowed to actually mine things. As you might imagine, this made gathering resources – tricky. XD Fortunately, he found some great work-arounds pretty early on – a section of the forest on fire from some lava that made it easier to kill the local animals for meat; the discovery that creeper explosions could provide wood blocks from trees; and, of course, raiding villages for whatever they had – which, given he was in a desert biome, was mostly bread and cactus. And wheat, which he acquired by jumping on it. (It’s not mining!) Where he really lucked out was finding a “Mesa” biome based off the American West, with a load of mine tracks and some chests filled with iron and other goodies! And then finding a half-built portal to the Nether with another chest nearby, with enchanted gold armor inside. :D Yes, Not-A-Miner Jim is running around with a wooden sword and is relying on dogs and iron golems to help him fight off enemies, but at least he looks SWANK. XD Currently he’s just tooling about in his boat, rowing from village to village to pillage, but Kevin has indicated he’d be up for seeing if it’s at all possible to finish this game without mining at all. . .though, thinking about it, I don’t think it is, just because you’d HAVE to mine to get into the Stronghold. Hmm. Still, I’m open to more episodes – these weird little challenges of his are fun!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – simple two ask replies on Valice Multiverse tonight. :)

And now my list of activities to complete tomorrow:

1. Do my taxes

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and see about an OXBoxtra Marathon

3. Play Unpacking and work through the final level for more stickers

4. Continue editing Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”

5. Get in a workout

All somewhat dependent on the weather, though so far so good with the power holding out. *fingers crossed* And yeah, taxes was something I was gonna do on Saturday along with the cleaning and laundry, but if I can spread it out a little more, I'm gonna. Fingers crossed for a good refund!

And with that, I'm off to veg out for a little while, as I have that option. :p Night all!
