crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Been a really nice day, actually -- pretty quiet, with plenty of time to do the stuff I wanted to do:

1. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check – did that once I was settled with Sims 4 (below). Talk has finally turned to magic (with Victor being very glad that magic in this universe is easy to hide, because oh hell if Pastor Galswells knew), and we’re getting into who has what in the Liddell family. Turns out Arthur has the ability to temporarily increase his own strength, and Lorina some minor pyrokinesis. Which Alice considers something of a sick joke, considering how they died. Uh, Alice, you’re gonna think it’s an even sicker joke soon enough. . .

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and watch at least the Plumbella video in the Watch Later: Check and more check – got BOTH Watch Later videos, both Subs, plus a bonus, w000 –

A) Started with a video from Simmer Erin from earlier in the week: “WEDDING STORIES NEW ADVERTISEMENT RAISES EYEBROWS- SIMS 4 NEWS 2022” This is from just before we finally got the “laundry list” from the gurus about the bugs they’re looking at in the new pack (about fucking time) – apparently, what came before that was a short promo for My Wedding Stories popping up in people’s start-up menus! It’s an admittedly cute little ad (focusing on the Heckings of Brindelton Bay, the Pancakes of Willow Creek, and that guy who got dumped at the altar and his new beau of the official trailer), but given word is spreading so rapidly about this being the most broken piece of DLC they’ve ever released. . .yeah, it doesn’t feel right that they tried pushing it harder BEFORE releasing a notice that they would be looking into the bugs. *sigh* I still like playing the game, but – yeah. This is nonsense.

B) Then it was over to Plumbella for some more amusing chaos – “Feeling chaotic so I built a house in EA's style!” The wheel chose this topic for her video, and thus she went to Newcrest and built a small two-story with the second wall height, a terrain paint “patio” in the back, an oddly-spaced-out bathroom, and a general lack of imagination. She said it was paining her at times not to use the Alt key or bb.moveobjects on to fix some of the placements. XD It came out EXTREMELY EA, I must say – like, it’s livable, but it just doesn’t look great, you know? Place needs ALL the renovation. She was very satisfied with it. XD

C) Then, after supper, it was time for the latest AT4W – a review of the final Tom Baker/Fourth Doctor Doctor Who episodes, the “Logopolis” serial! A grand epic about fighting off the destruction of our very universe, introducing the newest companion along the way (Aussie Teagan, who would have just been a flight attendant if she hadn’t gotten a flat tire with her aunt near the Tardis). It – makes very little sense if you think about it (entropy is treated like something that dissolves people and also the universe, and a lot of the plot revolves around magic math that a certain civilization has to mutter constantly to keep the universe going), but it’s a fun, engaging story, at least according to Linkara, who praised stuff like the cinematography, soundtrack, and general mood of the episodes while also taking the piss out of the fact that, for example, the Master spends most of the first two parts just dicking around to be a dick. (Which, as I understand it, is not EXACTLY out of character for him, but still.) I get the feeling people who are major Who fans would enjoy it rather more than me, but I still found it a fun hour of summary and snark. :)

D) Then it was into the Subs to watch Call Me Kevin play Minecraft Bingo! Yes, turns out there’s some sort of challenge site for the game where you can set up Bingo boards with various things you either have to collect (like two Prismatic Crystals) or avoid (to keep Vegetarian active, you cannot eat meat or fish). Kevin tried a medium-level Bingo board, and found himself in a very helpful seed, where he first came across a village already wrecked by a witch, allowing him to plunder it with ease, then a more normal village where – with the help of many slaughtered cows (as long as he doesn’t eat them, it doesn’t count!) and making his own dye from flowers, minerals, and the bones of his enemies – he was able to check off stuff like “set a villager’s house on fire,” “kill an iron golem” (also with fire – flint and steel is seriously the most overpowered thing in this game), and “wear four pieces of differently-colored leather armor.” He also ventured deep into a cave to get diamond, which nearly ended up with him getting killed by lava, and made himself a series of buttons to shoot with an arrow – another challenge! What won him the game, though, was finding a treasure map of buried treasure, which led to him investigating sunken ships and getting two prismatic crystals – the last things he needed to complete a diagonal line with the villager house fire, the death of the iron golem, shooting that button, and just reaching level 10! And all within about an hour and a half of game time, nice. :) Cool little challenge, and he’s admitted to being open to doing a harder one – I’d be interested! I like his Minecraft challenges, they’re generally very fun. :)

E) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and Experiment Groceries, a – well, it bills itself as pixelated psychological horror, but it’s pretty light on that, in my opinion. You get groceries over the course of a few nights, and on the final night, you’re locked in, all the employees are blood-covered monsters, there’s evidence that you’re in some sort of experiment watching what you buy for groceries, there’s a few flashes of a mysterious little girl – and then you just climb out the window in the women’s bathroom and drive off to freedom. Not even any proper jump scares! I mean, I’m HAPPY about that, but still. Of course, Gray taking the absolute piss and doing things like seeing how far he could throw a beer bottle at the cashier, buying random trash just because he could, and bringing the pizza into the toilet to urinate on it didn’t help the atmosphere either. XD Felt just a little like the good old Helloween days, that. You wanna to more ridiculous horror, Gray, I think that’s fine with me. :)

3. Play Sims 4 and see if Victor's up for a Love Day date with Smiler: Check – and I even got to try out a new mod while I was at it! Downloaded one Cepzid’s Update The Sims 4 Romantic Interaction from Sims 3 (Cepzid doesn’t speak/write English very well; not sure where they’re from), and trust me, it is VERY cute. (And conveniently, has its own menu in the game!) I got the “Couples” version which means Sims won’t be using them to flirt willy-nilly, but once they’re in a relationship, anything goes. XD

Anyway – got into Smiler’s save, and of course promptly sent them out on the town to look for companionship and plasma. Decided to hit up my own Optimist’s Skate N Bowl, now conveniently in Magnolia Promenade, while Smiler met Blossom Greenburg from Evergreen Harbor (she and son Knox apparently work at the restaurant portion of the place as a bartender and waiter, respectively), got themselves a Plasma Jane, went bowling and developed a preference for it, drank the plasma of waiter Raven when she came over to chat, then went skating on the rink for a while (joined briefly by Raven, because waiters hate actually doing their jobs XD). Once I determined it was late enough in the day, Smiler headed home and invited Victor over! I had them chat for a while, then Smiler asked Victor about his attractiveness preferences. . .

“I’m not into men.”

Oh, right, everyone’s attractiveness preferences got reset recently. (And yes, Smiler is supposed to be nonbinary, but they were AMAC – assigned male in CAS – and Victor's supposed to be bisexual anyway, soo.) Fortunately Wonderful Whims lets you do this on the fly, so I just quickly reset Victor’s preferences so that he’d find Smiler attractive (along with his actual wife – this is supposed to be a poly three-way), and THEN they started the flirting in earnest. Smiler tested the waters with a bold pick-up line and exchanging numbers before asking Victor on a date. Victor consented, and they headed over to Waterside Warble, one of the karaoke bars in San MyShuno! They hung out on the couch for a while, with exchanging loving looks, secrets, and tickles, then I took them into one of the karaoke rooms to sing a country duet. Very poorly. XD But they had fun. From there we proceeded onto the first kiss, and Smiler gave Victor a Wolfsbane flower as they had no other kind. XD This is when some of the new interactions started kicking in, like Victor embracing Smiler the Sims 3 way all on his own. They were having a lovely date when I decided to have Smiler ask Victor for permission to drink his plasma.

Victor said no. Welp, you had your chance – Smiler compelled Victor for a snack instead, and I got to see Victor get brainwarped again, yaaay~ XD And even better – Victor’s a Divine Drink for Smiler! :D I am most pleased. They hung out being cute for a while longer (moving out of their room as someone else came in to use the machine), and the date ended at Gold status. Smiler celebrated with some solo karaoke in another room before heading home to check on their scholarship letters. To my surprise, they only got one – Education for All. Who knew they’d miss out on BRITECHESTER RESIDENT? O.o Well, a scholarship is a scholarship, so I had Smiler research, then apply to, Foxbury, then head over to Forgotten Hollow to meet up with Vlad for some sparring (Smiler won, shockingly enough) and training. And then, just because I could and it looked super cool, I had them visit the Banewood Crypts park I downloaded and updated, to paint some pictures for a little extra cash. (Though the first one being poor meant it was worth less to sell than it was to make, so Smiler just took that one home.) Also took the “Child of the Moon” power while I was there to speed up their skill-building – and then, when the successful holiday netted them a bunch of aspiration points, got them “Frugal” (lower bills), “Night Owl” (better skill building at night), and “Speed Reader” (reads books faster) from the Aspiration Rewards menu as well. Took one last moment to try and get a fossil (it broke upon extraction, so I just sold it for ten simoleons), then sent them back home. Next time – well, they kinda need cash, so I’m thinking of focusing on odd jobs while waiting on the response back from Foxbury! Smiler definitely keeps me busy!

4. Work on tumblr drafts: Check! Got started right after changing my sheets – I was listening to the 2013 Alton Towers Fireworks Show again, and I decided “hell with it, I should feature it for a Song Saturday one week – this IS where got my Smiler’s voice from.” So once I was all set, I popped that in the drafts! And then set to work making a proper post out of my notes on how Ug-Qualtoth works and what kind of eldritch being it is in my Fallout of Darkness verse (short version, its “domain” is “existence defying death and decay,” with WOD vampires being the result of the direct infection of the first two, Caine and Lilith, while FO ghouls absorbed the “background radiation” of the being while it was trapped on earth and picked up the ability to survive the fallout and a lot of other things besides). And then, this evening, got my pictures for the next Smiler Always Chill Save update (them making friends with Angela Pleasant and having the dance party with Victor, Alice, and the others) sorted, so that’s good too! Nice.

Yeah, been a really productive day! I think I needed that "radio silence" night last night. And as for the Sunday to-dos:

1. Keep up with the FO4 Progression Playthrough

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and Jon's F:NV "Utter Chaos" video

3. Play Fallout 4, fix Victor's encumbrance issue, finish off Graygarden quest, revisit Starlight Drive-In

4. Work on tumblr drafts

5. Get in a workout

Standard Sunday stuff, shouldn't be too much of a pain in the ass! And now back to my usual conversations and tumblr-watching. Night all!
