crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Kinda sad that I am this excited for the weekend again after only four days at work, but one of those days was fairly hellish, sooo. . .yeah. Just gonna enjoy being free again for a couple of days! And I had a reasonably productive day --

Work – Better day than yesterday, that’s for sure – did the GL, did obituaries, took some credit card phone calls, got some exceptions at the very end of the day. Nothing too amazing, most major annoyance was not getting to eat lunch until 12:30 PM because everyone was using the kitchen. I’ll take it.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – a final night on the bike to finish off the Live Oxventure “Let’s Get Fiscal!” Picked up with the gang at the entrance to The Maze, a terrible enclosed (because the first thing Merilwen asked was if she could fly over it) labyrinth in which was hidden the form they needed. Oh, and the Mino-Calcula-taur, a minotaur monster that guarded the form. And math, written all over the walls.

Corazon and Prudence immediately went to “let’s torture the gnome who has been here before into helping us, or possibly to death.” XD Fortunately, before Corazon could do more with his stiletto knife than brandish it, they decided they’d at least LOOK at the math. Merilwen declined, due to still being a duck, but the others checked it out. Corazon got an eleven on his roll to puzzle it out and got distracted by finding 80085. XD Egbert actually did really well with a fifteen and deduced there was a pattern – but Prudence smashed it with a nat 20 and realized that the various equations all held a map, which she transcribed and showed to Fuddlestuff, who commended her, saying most adventurers never figured that out –

And pointed out THE SKELETONS ON THE FLOOR. Apparently filing your taxes in Geth is genuinely deadly, despite Egbert getting portaled in the first room – maybe they don’t want anyone to die too early in the process, as it discourages others or something. *shrug* At any rate, the Oxventurers had their map, and with it managed to navigate the safe route through the maze, passing many other unfortunate adventurer skeletons who’d fallen prey to the various traps. They were almost at their destination –

When they came across the Mino-Calcula-taur! A horrible living statue of a minotaur, clothed in stone armor and wielding two great axes. It awoke when Fuddlestuff pointed it out to them (a wholly unnecessary action, the thing was HUGE), and Corazon tried to get out of him what the test was, only to get told a story about how they named it the “Mino-Calcula-taur,” leading him to choke Fuddlestuff unconscious out of frustration. The Mino-Calcula-taur stood to its full height, and a panel came off its front, revealing a counter going down from five and four blue lights. It demanded that they answer its math questions correctly within the time allotted, though Luke, being nice, allowed them to get help from the audience in a very meta turn. XD First question was simple addition – Corazon got it. Next was multiplication – Merilwen and Prudence hastily did their workings and got it. The third was subtraction of a bigger number from a smaller one – the audience worked out the negative number, and Luke gave it to them. And the final was simply “62 billion minus 1,” which was probably chosen to see if they could say it in the time allotted. Merilwen gave it a go –

But misheard the “billion” as “MILLION,” meaning she gave the wrong answer. She angrily tried to blame this on the Mino-Calcula-taur, and it admitted it did need to work on its enunciation – but it was shortly thereafter pointed out that Merilwen gave the answer still as a duck, so. . . Three right answers caused some of the Mino-Calcula-taur’s stone armor to pop off, and it to put down one great ax, but it was still time to roll for initiative! Merilwen got the highest and chose to channel Dob –

By flying up and pooping in the Mino-Calcula-taur’s eyes. She succeeded on the roll and just parked herself up there, shitting it blind. XD The Mino-Calcula-taur did not like that. Corazon was next, and managed to spot a weak spot during all its thrashing under Merilwen’s poop barrage – two important gears in its back! He promptly leapt onto the thing, ran up its exposed arm, climbed onto its shoulders –

And RAMMED FUDDLESTUFF INTO THE GEARS. Face-first, no less, because he didn’t roll well enough to specify he wanted to do it FEET first. XD Amazingly, this worked, and Fuddlestuff even SURVIVED (stuck in the gears but not smashed to a paste) – AND Corazon smashed the Charisma roll to convince everyone that Fuddlestuff WANTED him to do this. And then, when the Mino-Calcula-taur turned on him, he was able to Uncanny Dodge out of the way and take half damage (and then even less damage when someone pointed out Luke had done the math wrong XD). It’s good to be a rogue!

But it’s also good to be a warlock in service to Cthulhu, because Prudence, up next, was able to see that the Mino-Calcula-taur was in fact a horrible abomination of flesh and bone and metal, and then proceeded to explode a kneecap quite horribly. Egbert followed this up by asking if its brain was exposed – and then, upon Luke throwing him a bone and saying there was a gap he could see the inner workings through under the horns, got onto it and FLAMED THE GAP. And fortunately rolled well enough to direct his cone of flame mostly inside the damn thing and not charbroil Merilwen, who flapped away. Seeing the damn thing was nearly dead and needed to be put out of its misery, she turned back into a wood elf, told everyone “we do NOT talk about the pooping thing,” and then conjured a Flame Blade to stab into the Mino-Calcula-taur’s heart. A good roll meant she threaded the needle and didn’t hit any of Egbert, and the Mino-Calcula-taur went down, defeated. Hooray! Corazon pulled Fuddlestuff out of the gears (who needs that much skin anyway), the gang collected the form, Merilwen read through it and signed it, and Fuddlestuff opened up the back wall so they could hand it in –

Naturally, the exit was back into the pub, with the person they had to give the form to being the barmaid. And naturally, when they handed in the form, she said that they had to each sign one, but she had a whole stack of them here, so. . . XD But they successfully delayed their taxes, long enough to hopefully get the hell out of dodge! Oh, and Mike insisted Merilwen roll Charisma to see if her friends truly forgot about the whole “pooping thing.” They did not. XD Good times, even if trying to find the missing bit at the beginning was really annoying! Hopefully none of the other Oxventures have that problem. . .

2. Continue writing “The Joker And The Queen:” Check – got another page on that, with Alice catching Victoria and Emily up on what’s happened – namely, that Victor’s gotten himself kidnapped and she’s trying to find him. They don’t know anything about X-Sector (not that Alice expected them to), but they do want to help. . .and when Alice said that maybe they’re the ones meant to find him, Victoria suggested that perhaps that means they should come with her. Which Cheshire shall shortly give his stamp of approval on, so – yeah, all-girls bloody road trip!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Three-fourths check – tonight was game night (playing BTTF-themed Yahtzee – Mom won the first game, Dad the second and third), so I got back on the computer late after my workout, and just barely had time for the below three –

A) Started off with Josh Way’s latest – “SKETCHY: Scrooge McDuck from Mickey's Christmas Carol!” The finale of his Duck Advent Calendar, which of course had to be Scrooge in his Scroogiest role. XD Josh admitted to being a bit burned out by the ducks by the end of this, and he’s eager to move onto new things – including trying some new coloring brushes that should give him a classic comic coloring style! :) (He also admitted he got really sick over Christmas, which explains why he didn’t upload anything during my long break – poor guy.) I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next now that he’s done with Duckember!

B) And then it was time for a double-shot of GrayStillPlays –

I. “Busting 5 Movie Myths In GTA 5 #shorts” – he uploaded this late yesterday, so I didn’t get a chance to watch it, but it’s another one of his mini-videos showing him doing a few specific “myths” in GTA V for funsies. #1 – Superman didn’t kill the criminal who kidnapped Lois Lane in the original movie (Gray made sure he did with a head straight to the gut); #2 – Spider-Man can stop the GTA train (nothing can stop the GTA train); #3 – Rhino will never defeat Spider-Man (Gray showed that a good kick could send the hero flying, but admitted canon!Rhino may never figure this out); #4 – Flash can’t commandeer a car from a criminal because he’s not threatening enough (give the speedster a gun and suddenly. . .); #5 – Spider-Man can’t land on a hovering helicopter (he can if he avoids the rotors and lands on the tail!). Nice mini-shot of Gray!

II. “I made babies 1000x more dangerous” – remember how he played that one game with a guy who frantically worked out until he became a demonic muscle-creature and was lifting boats and planes and buildings? Yeah, there’s another game like that, except you play as a literal baby. Meet Muscle Boy! The game where you make a literal baby clutching a pacifier between his teeth like a cigar work out and level up into a horrible magma creature, lifting various weights from multicolored barbells to literal office buildings. And in between reps, the devs saw fit to let you play one of their other games, Buddy Toss, using the baby as the tosser, to see how high you can fling the unfortunate man and how many coins you can earn. XD Gray actually managed to max out the game at level 15 due to his perseverance, and sent his unfortunate man (possibly the baby’s father?) straight out of the galaxy into new and exciting hell worlds. XD As I said in my comment, these people have found their niche and they’re sticking to it! XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Had a little time this morning, so I quickly finished up my reblog of “Dancer and the Moon” for Song Saturday (a song that I’ve always associated with Victor and Alice in a fairy tale setting, and now feels perfect for that big multi-fairy-tale AU with Victoria, Emily, and Smiler joining them) and slapped that in the queue. And, this evening, got a AMA fandom reblog in the queue for Valice Multiverse. *nods* That’ll do, I think.

And that's about it for the moment. . . Tomorrow is a non-cleaning Saturday, w00, so I'm gonna try and catch up with the Victor Luvs Alice dash and tags, and get a post ready for Smiler's Sim-creation anniversary (and, thanks to me playing around with outfits for them, I think I know just the thing); catch up on all my unwatched videos if possible; play some more Chill Save in Sims 4; and do the second draft of Moose's gift fic so it's ready to go on Tuesday. :) Hopefully I succeed! Night all!
