Look At Me, Updating At A Decent Time
Mar. 6th, 2023 11:40 pmBut I managed to wrap things up a little early tonight through sheer luck/not a lot going on with tumblr, so let's get the to-do list out there so I have a chance of getting enough sleep tonight --
Work – Eh, not too bad for a Monday I suppose – I let my boss and the credit card people know about the missed gifts and documented them appropriately; did the GL (which was pretty long); did some credit card stuff for people (gifts and updates and such); and ended the day with some roster maintenance in the form of obituaries. I’ve had worse for Mondays!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic, Fever Dream Wedding episode! With the “replacement wedding” and all its drama finally over, James took a moment to just show us Reginald and Kevin’s nice little honeymoon hideaway (just across from his oil rig build from ages ago XD), then swapped realities back into the save where they’d had a nice, drama-free wedding that unfortunately he couldn’t show us because his mic was muted. :p Due to when the save happened, we also missed a bit of their honeymoon, but hey, at least in this world they were still very much in love! They spent the rest of their time in Sulani doing things like riding around on the Aqua-Zip jet skis (doing dangerous tricks and making James worried one of them was going to die); hanging around in the hot tub (though they refused to woohoo in it when directed, instead going for the bed – James couldn’t blame them, as he’d just said that he wasn’t willing to woohoo in a hot tub); visiting the local cafe (where Reginald was forced to drink floor cappuccino as his requested latte never arrived), Banana’s old banana stand (where Reginald found he couldn’t pick any bananas because the place was still locked up post-Banana’s death), and the local bar (where Kevin angrily drank red wine and Reginald practically had his seat stolen out from under him because Sharing Is Caring is a thing in this neighborhood, unfortunately); and in Reginald’s case going free-diving and trying to befriend a dolphin. Unfortunately, near the end, a couple of Reginald’s friends died of mysterious causes, making him sad, and Kevin’s “High Maintenance” trait kicked into gear, making him mad, and they came back home in pretty nasty moods. James, I know you can’t do anything about people dying from mysterious causes, but you REALLY need to think about retraiting Kevin. Though I already know that a house renovation is actually next, so that should be fun...
Anyway, I finished that with about ten minutes to spare, which I decided wasn’t REALLY enough time to start my next planned video (the next Oxventure Presents: Blades In The Dark, “First Flight Of The Sparrowhawk”), so instead I watched a Petey Plays It video on the Cottage Living items he thinks everyone who has the pack needs to use, from standouts like the cow/llama shed, chicken coop, and garden plots for oversized crops, to lesser-used but still fun items like the picnic basket, cute watering can fountain, and the various bits of kitchen clutter included in the pack. Simple but sweet!
2. Continue writing “The Joker And The Queen”: Check – having saved Rita from losing her artificial leg and unstuck Thirteen from where she’d accidentally jammed her fingers too deep into the wall, Victor got the whole gang up onto the roof safely, where they’re currently hanging out and talking about their childhoods (Victor mentioned playing explorer in the woods back in England, which prompted the others to start mentioning favorite games they had as kids – Smiler liked to do informercials because their parents did that kind of thing, for example). Plan to segue into them talking about their powers and maybe some past failed escape attempts, before wrapping up with Bagshaw finally arriving with the ladder and Dr. Kelman, and establishing Nemesis’s presence in the facility as someone who is in a room just FULL of the Corkscrew, because they’re such a threat. Should be fun! :p
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: I actually spent most of the evening reading through the latest chapter of “Beneath A Broken Sky” (the Eldritch Hellworld Valice fanfic) so I could give it a proper review (though I didn’t actually manage THAT – tomorrow!), but I did make time to watch GrayStillPlay’s video tonight – “Testing which paper plane can fly the fastest in Flight!” AKA, Gray plays Flight, a game where you have a paper airplane, you throw that paper airplane further and further distances in different locales (London, Paris, the African Savannah, India. . .), and you have to collect stars and paper cranes during your flight to get money to upgrade that paper airplane. Such as adding fuel so you can set it on fire to make it go faster (the text was very explicit about this being a bad idea in reality), or making the pinwheels you can hit on the way back down for a quick speed boost send you farther (Gray bemoaned how some form of wind turbine always follows him into every game now), or letting you turn stars into rainbow stars to give your cash and your speed a big ass boost (ride the rainbow, just avoid the jet stream!). You can also turn your paper airplane from the standard plane into a prop plane, then into a jet, just because. And then a frog to hop along for a while after you hit the ground to collect more stars. XD Gray used the power of real-life money to show off all of the upgrades and how they work, starting with speed and aerodynamics and ending with flight control (because it’s no fun to actually STEER the plane, you know XD), and ended the video by SOMEHOW using the flight control to make his plane go so fast it totally broke the game and vanished from the board. No clue how he did it. Maybe he’s a reality warper but it only applies to video games, I dunno. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – I actually took a moment to do the text for another Chill Valicer Save update post before my workout, then finished up the remaining three after Gray! :) So that’s all sorted for another week! Just gotta plop ‘em in the queue tomorrow!
Not too shabby. :) Hopefully I can keep up the good work going forward! As it is, I'm heading off to bed, and hoping Tuesday is all right as well. Night all!
