Happy Birthday Victor And Marty!
Jun. 9th, 2023 11:30 pmI did the requisite celebration stuff -- my Victor Plush and Alice Dolly are wearing their hats; I wore my Marty socks and my Victor necklace to work, and my Corpse Bride t-shirt while working out; and I consumed CB and BTTF content (including rereading some Victor-centric Valicer fic). And despite a few early minor annoyances, I had a pretty decent day --
Work – Very quiet Friday to end the week – one of my coworkers was out (surgery the other day), and there wasn’t a lot happening – I did the GL, answered the phone a few times, did a bit of credit card stuff, and merged some duplicates. I will take that! And while the air quality is finally improving again, still no beanbags, because it rained a few times today, including just as I was getting in the door. We’ll see about tomorrow, though spot showers may prevent us from playing then too. . .
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – one last night on the bike this week, getting through the following –
A) The last bit of James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic Part 33, “We’re going to school!” Basically just Addison attending his first day at Copperdale – getting the introduction from the principal, learning his class schedule from his teacher, claiming a locker, attending his first class, doing some pranks (defacing the whiteboard and pranking two toilets), meeting his fellow students, and partially skipping his second class before James decided he wanted him to attend some of it just to get the golden desk for the day. Left it off with Addison heading off to chess club, Brianne doing her homework, Kevin taking care of the dog, and Reginald coming home with another raise and rewarding himself with cauldron mac and cheese. XD Good stuff!
B) Three BTTF clips in honor of it being Marty McFly’s birthday! I was originally going to watch a couple of clips from the end of Part II, but then I spotted a clip from near the end of Part I that was a good length and decided, “okay, let’s do something from the end of each movie.” So, in order, we had:
I. The scene from the end of Part II where Marty burns the almanac, restoring the good 1985, and then Doc gets struck by lightning, leaving Marty pretty well horrified by this turn of events
II. The scene from the end of Part I where Marty arrives back in 1985 only for the DeLorean to stall before he can get to the mall, chases the Libyans there, sees Doc get shot and himself go to 1955, then runs down thinking Doc is dead – only for Doc to reveal he had a bulletproof vest and kept Marty’s letter
III. The scene from the end of Part III where Marty arrives back in 1985 on the train tracks, only to have to dive out of the DeLorean before it’s hit by a train, and then surveying the wreckage afterward sadly
Maybe not the CHEERIEST clips I could have chosen, yeah, but still – all prime Marty content!
C) And finally, a Corpse Bride clip in honor of it being Victor Van Dort’s birthday! I went with one of the official preview clips uploaded by Warner Bros, which covered the wrecked rehearsal, Victor wandering into the woods and awakening Emily, and Victor waking in the Land of the Dead – basically from Pastor Galswells berating Victor for not remembering his vows to Bonejangles getting ready to start “Remains of the Day.” Prime Victor content to be sure! :)
2. Write the first draft of Gigs’s gift fic: Check – got that sorted this evening, with Scraps meeting Lightning, as per your request! It’s a pretty simple but cute fic, I think – I shan’t say anything more due to spoilers. ;)
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just one in the Subs today, GrayStillPlays and “Simulating life in Roblox” via the game Growing Up! This is a goofy game where you start out as a shrunken Robloxling to simulate being five years old and must complete various tasks to help you age up. Tasks range from the simple “play on the playground!” “attend school and answer this one math question!” “take your skateboard to the skate park!” to the rather more interesting “go camping in the mountains and TAME A VELOCIRAPTOR” “pass your driving test BY SETTING THE GAS STATION ON FIRE” “build a robot to DESTROY THE OTHER ROBOT OUT IN THE PARKING LOT.” Not to mention the pets you can acquire (ranging from disturbingly static cats – Gray named his Trauma – sad seagulls, and the world’s derpiest dogs – Gray named his Hypertension – to stuff like cobra snakes and FIRE-BREATHING DRAGONS), the bizarre shit you can buy (Gray ended up riding everywhere on a giant chocolate bunny as it was genuinely safer than using most of the vehicles), and the general chaos of the world (cars constantly flipping over, the gas station getting smashed up on the regular, people getting abducted by dragons, etc.) It was just super weird and super fun. XD As most of his Roblox stuff is!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Kind of substituted by me just straight-up posting stuff on my tumblrs – got my Victor Plush birthday pic up on Victor Luvs Alice after dessert and before writing, and just answered an ask from Brynlee Marie of her OC Maddie wishing her dad a happy birthday (and herself too – they happen to share a birthday) on Valice Multiverse. We’ll see if I get anything to actually QUEUE on the latter or not!
*nods* Not too shabby at all. And now I have a nice non-cleaning Saturday to look forward to. :) Must-dos include writing (either more "Londerland Bloodlines" or more of my current raunchy scene); updating all my mods and then playing Sims 4 and doing Smiler's weenie roast (which I REALLY hope goes well); keeping up on YouTube Subs (and hopefully some OXBox in the bargain!); and getting my next Chill Valicer Save update pictures ready. Hopefully all of those are doable! :) Night all!
