crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
The business with my stupid oil change charge has still not been resolved (apparently they're going to put it on my credit card now, but they can't do it until Monday because, you know, weekend), so that's annoying. And yeah, it's just been kind of a long week in general. Very glad tomorrow isn't a cleaning Saturday. . . As it stands, here how my day went --

Work – Meh Friday – another day of dealing with credit card nonsense, mostly in the form of finding more bullshit in the rejected transactions and having credit card calls interrupt my lunch break. Plus trying to figure out how to get in contact with various donors about stuff. . .it wasn’t really BAD bad, it was just kind of tiring. We’ll see what it’s like on Monday!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike, getting through –

A) The second half of “My Sim has to experience the worst of everything. Every Lot Challenge Again. (Part 2)” by James Turner! We picked up with Semaj managing to survive another night in his haunted house, then heading out to the fishing spot by the big Oasis Spring park in hopes of fishing up a cowplant berry or an expensive violin to help pay off the remaining bit of his $5,000 debt. And while he didn’t manage the former, he DID get the latter, yay! :D So now he can start growing a cowplant with the express purpose of eating its cake. He then did a little bit of dumpster diving (finding a nice oven to sell), then got invited to the Spice Festival by Don Lothario – where he spent most of his time desperately trying to improve his garbage needs in hopes of harvesting the plants for their produce. XD No luck there, sadly, but he was able to score some free food at the festival, and even conquered a plate of extra-spicy goodness to become a Curry Champ. :) He then went home, got a bit more sleep, planted his cowplant berry (gaining a DISLIKE for gardening in the process because he was so uncomfortable – mostly because James is now saying “yes” to every pop-up that occurs for gaining preferences and new personality traits – Semaj is also now an Overachiever and Squeamish thanks to this), and went and harvested his prairie grass –

Where he found a finely-aged expensive bottle of trash nectar! :D That, plus repairing and selling the stove he found dumpster diving got him out of debt! :D James, relieved, officially marked “started a fire” on the challenge list and spun the wheel –

And got “have a science baby with the first Sim you see.” He was – not enthused. XD He was even LESS enthused when he panned over to the sidewalk and the first Sim he saw was an overweight grumpy elder named Pelham who Semaj had a really hard time bonding with. Semaj made some decent progress toward befriending him via cloudgazing the first time they met, but then – after a break to do some dumpster diving (got a relatively cheap corner tub which sold for about $700) and finding and selling some specter oddities on his balcony (a candy jar and a soul scrap – dunno who was giving the specters presents, but Semaj thanks you for the free cash) to get the money to actually do the baby science – discovered they weren’t good enough friends to actually have a science baby together yet. So Semaj took Pelham to the flea market to bond –

Aaaand accidentally tanked their friendship, because Pelham is a hard person to please. Being High Maintenance and all. XD Fortunately cloudgazing together was able to pull it back, and once they headed back to Semaj’s place, they ended up close enough that Pelham wanted to move in! :D So James added Pelham to the family (after battling the glitched-out move-in screen, glad to see they haven’t fixed THAT fucking bug yet), and the episode ended with him hanging out on the couch with Semaj passed out on the floor. XD Oh, and James having added the “On A Ley Line” lot trait to the lot, in the hopes that it affects science babies as well as regular babies in the hopes that it’ll get Semaj twins, because THAT’S another challenge he has to complete. . .we’ll see how this all goes for him on Sunday!

B) “10 For Rent Objects You Need To Start Using | The Sims 4 Guide” by Petey Plays It! One of his “here’s the objects I love most in this pack, both standouts and stuff I feel is underused” lists, this one went through all of his favorites in the For Rent expansion, from electric kettles (which can make pretty much every hot drink in the game) and slow cookers, to tiger plushies (which you can get by adopting a tiger at the tiger sanctuary) and tiger inspector badges (which you can get by sneaking into the sanctuary at night – though you can only use it if you complete the snooping aspiration that comes with the pack), to hopscotch boards and marbles (because we love activities for kids). I may not be interested in being a landlord, but I like hopscotch and marbles and ESPECIALLY that electric kettle, damn. A shame the pack is so freaking buggy, but hopefully after a few more patches it might be worth getting on sale.

C) And a rewatch of “Exclusive: The Smiler Correction Block” by ThemeParkCollective, a very short video about the creation of the optical illusion projector screens in the Smiler’s indoor queue line. Neat stuff – the images are very trippy in the best way. :)

2. Work on the OT3 Week Valicer prompts: Check – we have started the editing rounds now, with me going back to where I started and editing the “Meet Cute” prompt! Getting the beginning to sound right proved a little tricky, annoyingly, but I managed to work my way past it and get the short edited to my satisfaction. :) Onward back around to “Nontraditional Soulmates” tomorrow!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: No check – a long game of BTTF Monopoly for game night (which I won, I’m happy to say – got control of one entire side of the board and kept getting lucky breaks when it came to collecting cash, forcing Dad to concede when it became obvious he was going to run out of money long before I did) meant that I really didn’t have time for the GrayStillPlays video of the night, unfortunately. And while I INTENDED to substitute in something from my Watch Later instead, by the time I finished editing the “Meet Cute” prompt – well, I just really didn’t have the time. I think I’m going to have to make some time for a YouTube marathon tomorrow to catch up on stuff!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – nothing to do just at the moment on Victor Luvs Alice, but I did have an anon ask on Valice Multiverse (talking about how marrying a friend for tax reasons makes them a friend with benefits – naturally I had to answer that with my Cuddlepile!Victor, Alice, and Smiler XD) that I managed to properly put in the queue this time. So that’s good.

I guess not too bad, though I would have liked to have some YouTube time. . . Well, we'll see what I can do tomorrow! The Saturday to-do list includes cleaning up those drafts I have of the Chill Valicer Save House Upgrade Posts; doing some building in Sims 4 (probably gonna work on the Arts Factory build some more); catching up on whatever YouTube I can; and editing another Valicer OT3 Week prompt. *nods* Hopefully that can all be done without issue. Night all!
