Late Tuesday Once More
Oct. 29th, 2024 11:55 pmGot caught up in reading something for a moment, but I am here to report on my day --
Work – Another fairly quiet day that was pretty much all roster maintenance, all the time. Just not a lot happening around the office right now! Besides my coworkers being annoyingly chatty behind me, but – that’s just a hazard of being there. *sigh* One more day to go!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “Every Car vs 1,000,000 Speed Bumps in GTA 5!” Got through the entirety of a “speedbump then reverse speedbump” challenge (in which Gray had to deal with such things as tires cut in half, a giant mountain leading into a giant valley in the ocean, and a pyramid followed by a pit of despair – as you might imagine, the only one able to handle all that was the Wastelander), and a good chunk of “Alex and Danny team up to make bizarre speedbumps” (Gray is currently trying to find a car that is capable of climbing Danny’s “11th Birthday” cake speedbump). One of the interesting things about watching all these videos back in a compilation is discovering that the Sherp actually isn’t HORRIBLE at speedbumps – it just often doesn’t have the power or speed to do Alex and Danny’s wacky challenges. But yeah, basic speedbumps it can handle just fine. Good for the Sherp! :) But it’s out of the running on this board, so I’m looking forward to seeing/remembering what gets through all the nonsense.
2. Keep writing “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded”: Check – got a good chunk done today, with the trio finishing off emptying Alice’s room (aka getting the pictures the kids drew of her Wonderland off her wall) and talking about what comes after they complete this mission to either discredit and/or kill Bumby. Alice was of the opinion that, however it went, she’d probably have to skip town, but Smiler was ready with another suggestion – Elder Gutknecht’s place! After all, they’re the only ones who can actually SEE it, not to mention get past the wards. Alice was of the opinion that it’s still a bit too human-unfriendly, but Victor and Smiler assured her that they’d be happy to help make the place livable – mostly because they didn’t want to see her go. Because they like her. :) And Alice likes them back. I actually ended the chapter on them finishing up in her room and preparing to go upstairs – next time, Chapter 3 starts with them ascending – and then they’ll run into Abigail and the next obstacle in their mission...
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check plus – got in another couple of short videos along with the GSP stuff –
A) First up, we had something I spotted in the Recommendeds and HAD to check out – “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl | Official Teaser | Netflix!” :D Everyone’s favorite Aardman claymation duo is back for another feature-length go round – and this time, everyone’s favorite evil penguin is back too! And looks like they’ve upgraded from a climax featuring a toy train to a climax featuring a REAL one – I am most looking forward to it!
B) And then I saw “WALLACE & GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL Teaser (New 2024)” (from ONE Media) on the sidebar of the previous video and was like “what’s THAT?” What it was was two short teasers stitched together – one featuring Wallace introducing his new “smart gnome” (which was very cursed) to Gromit, and telling him it was voice activated (WALLACE), and another showing Feathers McGraw, aka the aforementioned evil penguin, apparently the first day he went into the slammer (as he was handing over things like his tape measure and his iconic rubber glove). Fun stuff – I am SO looking forward to seeing this whenever I can. :D Comes out January 3rd on Netflix, apparently!
C) And finally I actually made it over to the Subs for the latest from GrayStillPlays – “This kid's game is a horror nightmare,” aka Gray plays – Incredibox Sprunki, according to the comments, I wasn’t quite able to parse it from what he said. Anyway, this is a mod of a game that lets you assign a bunch of unfulfilled blank gray characters various personas so they can make music together! You can have beatboxing robots, a dude wearing a VR headset, an organ-playing tree, a plant girl, a bunny girl, etc, etc – but the moment you try to assign the black hat to someone, things get, uh, a little weird. As in, everyone starts looking either diseased and/or mostly dead, the sky turns blood-red, and the clouds gain eyes. ...Music stays TOTALLY on-point, though. If you’re willing to go through all the various layers of torment, you can make some banging tunes. XD And then there’s phase THREE, where everything gets all that much worse and even the initial blank slates start OUT totally mutilated... Basically, it’s a horror game, but it’s a horror game with sick music, and it’s not THAT spooky. (Though I guess we’ll see what my brain thinks of that when I go to bed tonight...)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –
Victor Luvs Alice – Got my Wednesday and Thursday posts sorted –
A) First, for Wednesday, we have that reblog of the S’mores throuple costume post I drafted out yesterday
B) And for Thursday, we have a reblog of my previous set of Halloween-themed not-incorrect Valicer quotes from last year, with two new scenes for 2024 – Victor coming across Smiler eating a bowl of Monster Mash Remix (a compilation of all the General Mills “Monster Cereals” in one box), and Smiler telling him to be grateful that they make it, because otherwise they were going to buy ALL the cereals to mix together; and Smiler coming across the S’mores throuple costume set and showing it to Victor and Alice, with Alice responding that a S’mores costume set should be for a FOURSOME because s’mores are made with two graham crackers, Smiler saying they could buy two sets and get Victoria and Emily to dress up with them – and then indicated to a startled Victor that they wouldn’t mind those two joining the polycule if they were so inclined. XD Just something a little extra fun for Halloween!
Valice Multiverse – Three asks for the queue tonight –
A) One from Toonsisters, making the “I need an adult! – I am an adult – I NEED AN ADULTIER ADULT” joke (my Cuddlepile Valicer trio responded “mood”)
B) One from an anon that PURPORTED to be some sort of “priest, rabbi, and prostitute walk into a bar” joke – and then devolved into the prostitute turning into some sort of body-horror monster and eating her companions and turning into a blob of flesh...before eventually producing the head of that guy who hosts Bar Rescue to criticize the bartender for leaving his bar attended when he had customers (I had Londerland Bloodlines!Alice be confused over whether or not that was a joke, why she stayed to hear all that, and what Bar Rescue even was)
C) And one from another anon for the “universe comparison ask game” – Forgotten Vows meets Londerland Bloodlines! :) Featuring LB!Alice sharing the story of how she became a vampire, and how LaCroix first used Dominate on her, and FV!Alice and Victor getting very upset. To the point of basically going “time to act like our Catch Us If You Can selves and ask how we can murder this dude,” forcing LB!Alice to try and talk them out of it. Which feels ironic, given she tried to kill Cave Johnson for Aperture Wage Slave!Victor... XD Oh, the shenanigans these guys get up to...
And there we have it! And now I have to go to bed so I actually get some sleep before work. :P Night all!
