November 12th 10:04 PM!
Nov. 12th, 2024 10:04 pmAKA the most important 10:04 PM because this is the day when that time is actually relevant to the story. XD Couldn't miss getting the time stamp for this one! I also made sure to wear my OUTATIME license plate necklace, and my nicer "Save The Clocktower" shirt for working out. :) May not be that much of a Backie anymore, but I have to observe the most important date somehow!
That being said, I did other things today too, so here's the usual list:
Work – Okay first day back after the long weekend – I got through the usual reports this morning, then spent some time working through the exceptions we got back from our processors before going back to roster maintenance stuff. Also did some credit card stuff – updates and final payments and things like that. *shrug* Made the day go by. I could have done with a little less of my coworkers babbling on about politics and their reality TV shows, but – can’t have everything. *sigh*
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “Games that cause nothing but pain!” Or, well, some of it – after finishing the Love & Choices video (featuring the girl and her boytoy going on the world’s weirdest trip to Mexico and the world’s weirdest hike before she went on a date with another dude and nearly got drowned in corgi piss), I discovered that the next video in the line was the Get Expelled game, where you play as a kid trying to get expelled from the world’s jankiest school so he can become a basketball champ, and I was like “...I feel like I’ve seen this multiple times now, I’m gonna skip it.” Like, I don’t know how recently I actually saw it in a compilation, but it felt recent, so – yeah. It’s not like I’m going to get a bad grade in video-watching if I skip stuff I’m already familiar with! XD Anyway, that brought me to the last game in the compilation, Impossible Date, which I did not remember so well. I watched most of that while finishing my ride (with Gray protecting couples from the rain with the power of his poorly-drawn YEET and being forced to make women get together with creepy guys who remind him of serial killers from movies), stopping about ten minutes from the end – so tomorrow, we’ll finish it off, then head back to James Turner’s Tiny Town since we definitely have the time to watch another episode this week now!
2. Keep working on Polyship Week 2024 Prompts: Check – finished things off tonight with Day Seven, aka the “free day!” Which allowed me to actually go back to Day Five, grab the “Only One Bed” prompt from that list, and write a story about the Valicer In The Dark Alice worrying about the fact that their lair only had one proper bed in it and how she was certain that was going to cause a fight at some point…then a certain incident involving the trio trying to cure Victor’s insomnia through hypnosis happening, all of them becoming very aware of their feelings for each other, and the bed thing becoming much less of a problem. XD Which means we’re officially through the list – and tomorrow, we start editing these things to get them into a post-worthy form! They’ve all gotta go up next week, after all!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check plus, as I had to get in a special bonus video tonight –
A) First up, we had GrayStillPlays and “When you cut humanity in half,” aka Gray plays Mr. Ninja – Slicey Puzzles! You guys know the drill with these videos by now – you play as someone who must solve puzzles by murdering the bad guys in various ways, from directly slicing them up to tossing boxes on their heads to blowing them up with TNT to hitting each other with their own body parts. Along the way you unlock new skins for your characters and struggle with taking any of this nonsense seriously. XD Anyway, as indicated by the title and the name of the game, this particular entry was ninja-based, with Gray having to slice up stuff in various locales (such as “City” or “Japan II”) to murder the bad guys in the correct way to get the most points. He did this with the titular Mr. Ninja (a former accountant in Cyclops cosplay), his wife Mrs. Ninja (who prefers bright pink for her assassination missions), their friend Mr. Inmate (put away for tax evasion), the vampire Count Ninja (full Dracula costume and a dinky little ninja mask), and the Canadian Mr. Timber (who had a plaid shirt and a slightly cursed face), among others. XD These games may be pretty much all the same, but Gray does keep them fresh with his commentary – he does so love making fun of the characters and the puzzles. And it’s amusing to see him occasionally struggle because he thought something was more complicated than it was, or couldn’t resist the urge to be goofy instead of efficient. XD Good times!
B) And second, because it is The BTTF Day (even more so than October 21st), I made sure to watch a BTTF-related video – specifically “Side-by-side comparsion of each Clocktower DeLorean scene from every Back To The Future movie” by DrRobotNinja! Which was exactly what it said on the tin – a short comparison of the climax of the original BTTF, the ending of BTTF II, and the beginning of BTTF III, which all feature the iconic scene of lightning striking the clock tower at 10:04 PM and Marty getting sent back to 1985! Which was very interesting – putting them side by side showed BTTF II Marty reading the letter from Doc back in 1885 at the exact same time as his BTTF counterpart was zooming toward the clock tower to hit the wire in time. Meaning the scenes of Doc on the clock tower reconnecting the wires and such happened a LOT later in the BTTF II section then they did in the BTTF and BTTF III sections! I seriously wasn’t expecting the lightning strikes to all sync up in the video – and I’m not 100% convinced that DrRobotNinja didn’t edit things slightly to make sure that they did, as it really looked like certain clips were running a bit slower than normal. Not complaining, though, because seeing the synced lightning strikes on the screen was VERY cool. :D Happy Lightning Day, everyone!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –
Victor Luvs Alice – Got the queue for the rest of the week sorted over here, I’m happy to say! Here’s what’s going up what day –
A) Wednesday – that post I did on the Home Chef Hustle knife block and its accidental Alice vibes that was supposed to go up LAST week before I got smacked with The Bad News
B) Thursday – that post I did about the updated status of horses in the Valicer In The Dark AU (extinct everywhere but Severos) that was also supposed to go up last week before I got smacked with The Bad News
C) Friday – a reblog of a post with a video of an older lady demonstrating Victorian slang by using it to comment on modern stuff (like saying someone in skinny jeans was wearing a set of “gas pipes”) that’s been sitting in my drafts for a while – wasn’t sure what else to put up
D) Saturday – a reblog of the “You and Your Friend” Song Saturday post from last year, because I realized I should have an explicitly polyamorous song on Song Saturday to kind of “welcome in” Polyship Week 2024 next week :)
So that’s all good! And now I can just gradually add to it as the week goes on and I get my Polyship prompts edited and ready to go...
Valice Multiverse – Just had one reblog from Toonsisters on the new “Never Have I Ever Board Game” thread we’ve got going on with her and the Cuddlepile trio for the queue today – she confirmed that Smiler’s explanation of the rules and Alice’s guess on how the board game was played was correct and asked if they were ready to go, and the trio confirmed they were! Now we just have to figure out who goes first...
Not too shabby, I think. :) And now I need to go hit the sheets and prepare to do this all over again tomorrow, with slight variations and no need to get a 10:04 timestamp. :p Night all!
