Very Bleeeh Tuesday
Jan. 21st, 2025 11:48 pmNot only was it absolutely freezing outside, when I got up and went to the bathroom this morning, I discovered that I'd gotten my period without realizing. Fortunately, it had just started, and the blood was VERY fresh, so I was pretty much able to wash it all out of my panties without issue, but -- still. Not a great way to wake up. *sigh* As for the rest of the day --
Work – Not a great day – not that any day where you wake up and find you’ve just started your period can be great. But I had a slow ride in that made me a bit late (though I arrived around the same time as a bunch of other employees, so – yeah), and a slow day without that much to do beyond attempting some roster maintenance, taking a few credit card calls, and listening to my coworkers praise the fucking inauguration behind me. *sigh* Only good part was that getting home was a bit quicker, and even that was hampered by the fact that everything outside is still frozen and slick, so I had to take some parts pretty damn carefully. And I don’t expect things to change much tomorrow. Meeeh.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back again on the bike tonight, finishing off the GrayStillPlays compilation “I built a DYI rocket and this happened!” Which featured the end of Learn To Fly 3 (with Gray’s pink potato “penguin” finally reaching space...and immediately turning around and coming back down again XD); that port-a-potty racing game (the one I mistook for the shopping cart racing game, though it works along similar lines – Gray managed to get a couple of “infinite distance” runs that allowed him to get loads of money and max out the port-a-potty so it could reach space); and an episode of Human Vehicle (with Gray unlocking all of the vehicles, including two tanks and a missile launcher, and then beating the final level by shooting humans at his problems). Fun stuff, and a nice look at some games we haven’t seen in a while!
2. Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – wrote up the boss fight against Brother Kanker today! Which took rather less time than the one against Jezebel, because, well, Kanker is someone who fights in an arena full of big pointy hooks hanging from the ceiling, and Alice is someone who is able to grab one of those hooks and jam it straight through his jaw after tricking him into lunging at her. And then shoot him twice in the back of the head at point-blank range to kill him. Not an accepted method of murdering him in the game itself, but I bet a lot of people wish it was – Kanker is no joke. But he’s dead in this universe, and Alice is more than ready to get out of the sewers and report back to the Anarchs. However, Wonderland has one more thing to show her before she goes – something that will prove to be very important indeed when it comes to tracking down the rest of the plague cult...
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – had just the one GrayStillPlays video tonight: “Cars vs Escalators in GTA 5!” A particular fiendish set of challenges for Gray to conquer, including having to get up an incomplete, malfunctioning escalator that shuffled up and down like an automatic cheese grater (and if you didn’t get on it and stay on, he’d fall through the floor beneath); transfer from platform to platform on an escalator made up of individual stairs that just got faster and faster the further along he went (and also there was like NO pause to get from step to step – he basically had to fling himself forward and hope he got the timing right); get across the bottoms of a set of continually shifting upside-down “!” signs in 40 seconds (without, you know, falling through the gaps that opened and closed continually in the floor); and finally keep up with a flat “moving sidewalk” platform while dodging various airport-themed obstacles in his way (such as mobile staircases, luggage carriers, and ACTUAL PLANES), lest he get yeeted off the board. This was one of those where the first two challenges claimed a lot of the cars – even the WASTELANDER ended up falling (literally) at the second hurdle, being just a little too slow to keep up. The Redwood truck manged to make it to the 40-second challenge, but couldn’t actually complete the damn thing – meaning the ultimate winner was the Canis – truck? SUV? I’m not sure what you call it, but it had the speed to keep up with all the various moving parts and the agility not to always slide off! Good work, Canis – and condolences, Wastelander. You’re still my favorite!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Very much check on both counts –
Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) – Got a couple of things done over here, namely –
A) Getting my queue for the rest of the week sorted:
Wednesday – some reblogged Alice: Madness Returns fan art showing a few different Alice heads (plus one Queen of Hearts head) and a few different dresses, including the chess dress, which I don’t feel gets enough love – it is pretty cool
Thursday – some reblogged Corpse Bride fan art recreating a couple of Victor’s butterfly sketches, with a skull thrown in for good measure
Friday – some reblogged The Smiler fan art, of someone’s Smiler OC in silhouette except for their big grin, needle in hand as they prepare to correct the viewer
Saturday – and that “Jolene but she’s an H.P. Lovecraft monster” song that I bumped from this past Saturday so I could showcase OK Go being back on their bullshit
B) And reblogging a couple of anti-fascist and anti-Trump posts on my blog tonight so people know where I stand on that. Which is with seeing Nazis get punched (or, preferably, run over like in the Blues Brothers movie) and Trump get fucked over (or run over too, I don’t mind).
Valice Multiverse – And over here, I had one ask from Toonsisters from the queue, about how there’s always one person in a relationship that will respond to any sentence, no matter how mundane, with “kinky.” Cuddlepile!Alice and Victor both just looked at Smiler, who stuck their tongue out at them. XD Nice and easy-peasy!
So not great in some respects, but at least I got my writing done, and I had some fun GSP content to watch. And I'm all good with my tumblr stuff on VLANS for the week too, yay. And now it is time for me to go to bed, as I do still have work tomorrow despite the bitter cold. Hopefully it'll go a little better than today...night all!
