-RPD: A Strangetown update?-

-RPD: *checks to make sure he hasn't mysteriously timewarped to Tuesday*-
LOL, no, I just wanted a day with my Wonderland families (though in the neighborhood they're called Tea Party -- I accidentally moved in the boys first). They had a fairly productive first day, though it's a bit hard to keep track of them all. Plus I forgot that Sims are TOTAL caffeine junkies. . . .
But anyway, here's Strangetown's piece of Wonderland:

Our intrepid heroes in front of their wacky house -- er, talking. I had to get March Hare's relationship scores up with Hatter and Dormouse, they were both mildly negative. Cheshire and Rabbit quickly became friends, though, which was nice.

And what about their house? Let me show it off. It took a little doing (mostly because I didn't remember that most items can only go on non-diagonal walls) but I came up with something halfway liveable. And I love the effect it had on the roof! :D I also like the jagged-line kitchen I came up with.

They eventually moved inside to get to the bathrooms -- I set one up with stalls so it would be easier for everyone. I lost track of Hatter for a moment and found him playing in the tub.

Alice, meanwhile, had found the radio. American McGee's Alice like you've never seen her before! (Last picture: "Uh, the card guards can't see me, right?")

Hatter had a bathroom convo with Dormouse while Rabbit played SSX-3. I'd imagine he'd be good at that game, what with his fast reflexes.

Lunchtime! As only Chesh has any Cooking points at the moment (he spent the morning studying, while March painted), I had Alice dish up gelatin. Hatter also made tea, if a bit unusually. I didn't let anyone drink it at the moment, though.

Welcome Wagon's here! Hatter skips out to see them while Alice reenacts a rock concert for March. He isn't impressed.

It's Gypsy Lloyd, Mystie Lloyd, and Rosalie Johnson. Rabbit takes Rosie, Hatter Gypsy, and Dormouse Mystie.

The girls eventually leave, and Dormy goes for the tea. Surprised he's awake enough to poor himself a cup.

Hatter busies himself playing chess with Alice. They become firm friends discussing hats. :)

But look at the mess Hatter made in the bathroom! The perils of having ultra-sloppy sims. . . . Cheshire and Dormouse eventually cleaned it up.

Suppertime -- more gelatin. And right at 6:00, all my characters grab cups of tea! :D They've read the books. Of course, this eventually leads to a minor bathroom crisis.

Bladders relieved, I have to quickly think up ways to keep my Sims distracted so they won't keep going to the teapot. Rabbit and Dormy decide on some dorky dancing.

Hatter and Alice are oddly enthusiastic about it.

While making sure the others are entertained, Hatter heads outside. Hello, what's this? A toy bench! I wanted both this and the robot bench, but they're a little poor at the moment. I'll wait until someone other than Cheshire (who got a job as an EMT) has a steady income. In the meantime, I'll let Hatter pound away on some brick.

Yay! It's a Sir Bricks-A-Lot!

Hatter pets his creation. "My precioussss. . . ." Wait, wrong fandom.

I think he's teaching his brick to jump for treats or something. I can't wait until I can show it off to the rest of the cast.
However, fatigue finally caught up with my caffeine addicts, so it was off to bed before he could finish training his new pet. A save right when Cheshire needs to get up anyway, and I'm set. Sims are all backed up on CD in a massive WinRar file.
-RPD: Interesting update. Any plan in particular for these Sims?-
-VD: Specifically, are you going bri-chan on us and having Alice hook up with Hatter after she grows up?-
*blush* Have been considering it -- it would be a weird genetic mix, wouldn't it? We'll see as I play the family. Which won't be for a bit, of course, with what's going on.
-D: I certainly hope everything's backed up.-
Not quite -- I know you boys want me to work on typing, so I haven't done the stories yet. I'll rar them up tomorrow evening.
-TD: So you're really getting a new computer?-
That's the goal. Wandered around a couple of sites looking for good ones -- I'm trying to spend less than a thousand. I don't need a mega gaming computer, just one that can handle Sims 2 up to Pets. The video card's the main thing -- so far, the card I currently have in the machine looks to be the best.
-OD: Do you have any specifications for the new machines? I know you gave a general list yesterday. . . .-
Yeah, I have some more specific wants:
-->1 GB RAM
-->Big hard drive -- my total space (with both C and D) right now is 56 GB. I want more than that. Don't need huge, but more than that would be nice.
-->1 GHz processor or better (not seeing to be a problem)
-->Recordable DVD+/- RW drive (I have a bunch of DVD-Rs, and I want to use them, damn it)
-->Corel WordPerfect or similar program (So far, I've been seeing Microsoft Works a lot -- does that even open WordPerfect files?)
-->The biggie -- a video card that fits the requirements for Sims 2 Pets. Preferably from the ATI series, I've heard nVidia can get iffy with driver updates. Plus, an ATI Radeon 9550 is what I have right now, and I'm very happy with my graphics.
-RPD: Doesn't your current computer fit the requirements?-
Yes, but I also want to put it through the window. The reason my Sims go on so few dates is because I can't visit community lots without the game practically FREEZING. And on large lots, if I dare turn the camera, the game freezes for a while. Especially bad on the Shaw lot, even with the twins gone. Plus, even being online has gotten kind of jerky at times. The Sony's a few years old -- I think it's time to upgrade.
-TD: *solemnly* Farewell, dear Vaio. You have served us well.-
-VDM: What's going to happen to it?-
Might donate it to somewhere after cleaning the files off. Part of me would like to take a baseball bat to it, but I'm ignoring that.
So, anyway, time to write. And to get a snack, I'm hungry.
-VD2: Try to finish that drabbles88 about OckDoc!-
