crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Eh. Today was one of those "not-so-good" days that exist solely to break up the monotony of life. It started out with me waking up at 6 because I'd managed to somehow kick my bed socks off. I searched for them for a moment, then said "fuck it" and went back to sleep despite my cold feet. I wish I'd stayed awake, though.
Maybe then I would have noticed I hadn't set my alarm. Thank God I had afternoon shift, because I slept in over a half-hour from when I usually wake up! Of course, I'm pissed off since that means I only get two hours to fool around on the net instead of three.
-VM: Yeah, she was upset. Always nice to wake up to someone growling to herself.-
*slightly embarrassed* I don't like oversleeping. Then, it was threatening rain all day -- it looked just cloudy when I left for work, but halfway down the block it started sprinkling. Luckily it didn't get past that until I actually got to work, but boo for getting wet.
-VD: A little rain won't kill you.-
Yeah, but I had the big notebook with me. Good thing the top of my lunchbox can fold over it.
-OD: *suddenly worried* Is it okay? *tentacles make concerned noises*-
Yeah, it's fine. Kept it dry on the walk up, and I got a ride home. Also got my page and a half, so we're good on that front.
-OD: *and tentacles, relieved* Good. Good.-
Anyway, today was slower than the past days have been, but it had a couple of particularly-annoying busy spurts. Tomorrow might be hell, though. Bunch of Fridays and Saturdays. I swear, sometimes I think my boss makes life DELIBERATELY hard for himself -- a holiday weekend, and he doesn't change our schedule for taking in clothes! There's only four of us! Three of us, most of the time, he's out running errands.
-VD2: *pats back* Breathe, Victoria.-
I'm trying, I'm trying. At least my writing quota is fulfilled. So I'm taking in "Equal Rites" tomorrow for the slow bits. Hopefully a good dosage of Discworld should keep me in high spirits.
-DW: We can only hope.-
-HD: Come on, humor! You can do it!-
-MF: I dunno, she's reading about survival horror games again. . . .-
Just a little! It's not even Silent Hill!
-D: We are required to "facepalm" nonetheless. *does so* I can't believe I just used that as a verb.-
-TTV: I just await the day when I'll start talking like that.-
-M: You're pretty much one of us. It'll happen any day now.-
-TTV: *pulls at his tie*-
Think about how much it'll piss off your parents and the Everglots.
-TTV: *looks a lot calmer* There is that.-
Anyway, main objective here is to survive until the weekend. I'm looking forward to dropping [livejournal.com profile] clockwork_doc into the Rift and heading up to Providence Place and all of that.
-RPD: So are we, trust us.-
-TD: It promises to be an amusing weekend.-
Long ones always are. :D
All right, back to monitoring the Rift for interesting threads. *must resist play until distractions are lessened*
