crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)

Had a good time going to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth." It's one of those "popcorn" movies, the kind where most everything is kinda goofy but in a way that's totally enjoyable.
-D: *grin* Very much so!

It moves pretty fast, going from beginning to end in a mere hour and a half. But it's got some lovely sequences. The fossilized mushroom forest is straight out of Alice In Wonderland. And a bunch of bits are simple OMG moments, like "OMG they're RIDING THE TOP HALF OF A T-REX SKULL DOWN A RAPIDLY-EVAPORATING RIVER." It's awesome. :p

And yes, I did get to see it in 3-D. It was pretty neat, the way the stuff kept leaping out at you.
-HD: Very fun! :D-
Indeed!
Also, interesting note -- I had the entire theater TO MYSELF. Dead serious. It was JUST ME. There's something very liberating about that. Plus there was only ONE preview before the main feature, which was a shock.
-M: I know! Almost every movie we go to is loaded with previews.-
Yeah. Nice break from THAT.
Aside from the movie, we had time to hit a couple of stores. I popped into Newberry Comics before the movie -- got some new pins for my hat and a couple of minimates -- Colossus and Storm from X-3. After the movie was Hot Topic -- picked up a tin of mints and a Skeleanimal bat there. His name's Diego, and according to the website, he died trying to fly through barbed wire. He's pretty cute.
-J: For a dead stuffed animal.-
-TTV: Dead things can be cute! *Scraps barks*-
LoL. I plan for him to be best buds with the UglyDoll IceBat I got last trip.
I also stopped by Dairy Queen again for a milkshake, since the theater only offered soda. Their medium is a large in disguise, I swear. Still good, though.
-VD: We need to do that again sometime.-
Hey, that new movie "Igor" came out recently. Wait a few weeks, maybe talk Mom and Dad into seeing it. . . .
-VD2: Didn't the paper give that a bad review, though?-
Yeah, but the characters are so cute! Plus it's a movie all about a mad scientist land. How could I pass that up?
-TD: *grin* She has a point.-
Thank you.
Other than that, haven't done much except look at the Rift and Nexus. Thane makes me want to hurt things.
-RPD: *growl* Same here.-
Yeah, Clockwork would like to clean his clock, if you get me.
-OD: That's something of a bad pun there. Go stand in the corner.-
Aw. . . .
-RPM: Can't you beat him up in the Overflow or something?-
. . . I might have to suggest that. Be a good stress reliever.
-RPD: We'll back you up.-
-DW: Go write some fanfic instead.-
Yeah, but Clockwork insisted on something happy, and it's hard to write happy fic for him. He's an angst-magnet.
-MF: Who's fault is that?-
-HD: *pouts*-
-RPM: Don't worry, Hatter, she does nice stuff for him occassionally.-
Yeah, I got him a Jules Verne book when he went to that forger. And there's the movie trip (the in-game one, not today's). And the thread where he learns to fly, though I gotta figure out a in-Rift reason for him to try that.
-M2: Might want him to figure out landing first in the museverse.-
This is true.
-VuM: It's really not that hard.-
-VD: Yes, it's just --
It occurs to me we should have offered him flying lessons.-
*HEADSMACK* I am such a MORON.
-VD2: Going to rectify that right now! Hey, Clockwork!-
