I finally managed to find something that fit at least partially, so, at long last, that Drabbles88 I've been mentioning here:

64. Healing
Marty McFly was never one to complain all that much. Sure, he had his moments of griping and whining, but overall he knew he’d had a pretty good life. He had a wife that loved him, two wonderful children, a home in the most amazing city in the world, and two best friends whom he’d do practically anything for. He really couldn’t wish for anything more.
But there was one little thing he occasionally wanted. A little niggle of a thought that popped up every so often when he was in Doc’s or Victor’s respective labs, or when they were all just hanging out together somewhere. The wish that, somehow, some way, he, Doc and Victor could have been related. He considered it a bit of a shame that he hadn’t met either of them until he was in his teens – he could imagine the messes (and fun) they could have gotten into if they’d grown up together. He sometimes fantasized about what it might have been like to have Doc as his uncle, or Victor as his brother. Not to say he wasn’t perfectly content with their friendship as it was, really – he just wished he could refer to them as his “family” and not get odd looks from people.
Then one day Doc’s oldest son Jules came over and politely asked Marty for Marlene’s hand in marriage. Two days later Douglas announced the news that Victor’s daughter Lorina had accepted his proposal. Marty could hardly believe it – both of his kids were getting married to one of his best friends’ kids? That meant that – that they’d all be in-laws.
They’d all be family.
Maybe it wasn’t quite as good as being uncles and brothers – but Marty would definitely take it.

-VuM: You know, I agree. Tangled family trees may annoy the hell out of you, but I think they're awesome.-
-OD: *Jules* Yes, but in our world, Father only has a human daughter isn't that correct? And I believe she'll be rather too old for your son by the time he's born.
Not necessarily, Jules. I believe she uses time travel to fix up the Jules and Marlene of Trilogy, at least in her head. It's not out of the question for something similar to happen in our universe.-
I've never gotten that far, so who knows? Anyway, this is a Secundus-Verse ficlet, in case the mention of Victor having a lab wasn't a giveaway. As you might imagine, this popped into my head around the time I got obsessed with giving everyone extremely complicated family trees. I've always been a fan of "Doc and Marty become in-laws," and in "Secundus" it only seemed natural to add Victor's family into that mix. They're all pretty damn close anyway, so it only makes sense to me that they end up related somehow. Plus the idea of both of Marty's kids marrying one of his best pals' kids just amuses me.
-TD: Except when you actually have to make the family trees.-
Yes, I know. I went a little nuts with that, I admit. I'm honestly thinking of redoing them--
-Muses: AGAIN?!-
No, hear me out! In pieces! Do the Van Dorts up to Victor, for example, and THEN do Victor + Alice. Makes sense, right? And then I'd have the "standard" family trees too.
-D: You are aware that means you'll have to do something for Richard Dodgson, aka Hatter, right?-
Hmmm, yeah. Good thing I've got that list of Victorian names bookmarked. I'll probably just give him and Sir Christopher parents -- possibly grandparents if I'm feeling generous.
-VD2: I'd get that word document of yours that lists everything straightened out first.-
Good idea.
Getting back to the fic, I had Marty imagine Doc as his uncle because, well, he loves his father and grandfather, and besides Doc has a bit of "crazy uncle" about him anyhow. Before you ask, though, I have had a vague nibble of a thought of a "Marty Brown"-verse where Victor would end up as his older brother -- though how Doc would end up adopting Victor, I have no idea. It's pretty much a just-for-fun situation.
-VDM: *tries to imagine it* Would have been one odd household.-
Indeedy-do. As for the prompt, for some reason it just wanted to be associated with this one. I finally looked up meanings of "healing," and according to WordPerfect's dictionary, one is "put right (an undesirable situation)." Close enough for this, so I went ahead and stuck it on there. Marty definitely feels that the situation is righter than it was before, anyway.

Whew, and that's out of the way! Now I just have to reinstall AMA. Maybe I'll do that tonight, before bed.
-HD: *eyes me*-
I'm not going to play it, just see if I can get it up and running. Playing it is reserved for May.
-WRM: Because of Alice's birthday?-
And it being the month before the release of the sequel, yes. Now then, I gotta go put a link to this prompt over in [livejournal.com profile] 8butterflyboy8. Later!

Oh, before I go, I might as well say: Happy One Year Anniversary, How To Train Your Dragon. :D
