Happy Halloween!
Oct. 31st, 2013 09:11 pmI'm actually writing this from my housesitting gig -- the family is out of town for Halloween, so I'm staying overnight to keep an eye on the place. *shrug* I need the cash, and if I can get paid for sitting at my computer and sleeping. . .
Anyway, it's been a pretty good Halloween. I got the party up in the Inkwell, along with an interesting conversation among my muses -- did you know I intro-ed both Butterfly Boy and Forgotten Vows at Halloween parties? I also got my costume and make-up done by Mom -- here are the pictures:

Little Sister at your service! Er, ignore the blue at the bottom of my skirt -- that's the shorts I was wearing under it to help keep my legs warm.

Me with my needle -- Mom actually finished it shortly before these photos were taken. It's a cannibalized paint roller, if you can believe that. We broke it apart, wrapped some cardboard around the roller part, glued a baby bottle to it, and stuck a wooden skewer on the end. Not bad, huh? (And cheap, too -- most of the stuff we already had or got at the dollar store.)

Om nom blood -- that was real fake blood in the gun. Unfortunately, the tip of the baby bottle proved to be drippy, so I had to empty this once I got home for fear of blood getting everywhere.

Closer-up shot. Mom yellowed up my eyes to simulate the glow effect from the game. :)
So that was fun. Got to pass out a bunch of candy to the kidlets -- though we actually ran out before everyone came by! A bit embarrassing, but we can never tell from year to year how many kids we're going to get. And I had to go and relieve Mom anyway, so. . . I also listened to a bunch of day-appropriate music and watched the latest Fun With Shorts, titled "Halloween Party" but in fact mostly about a family's bad dog running the son's cruddy paper bag cat mask. *shakehead* Now, I'm going to finish up my catch-up on the various "Not Always" sites and get back on tumblr to see if the Victors have any celebrations of their own to catch up on. I hope everyone else has had a lovely Halloween!
