crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Fives are pretty closely associated with the main BTTF trilogy, given that all the years end in five, so it seems appropriate I bring you Trilogy BTTF fic today:

Day Five:
“Popcorn strings. That’s Victorian era stuff, Doc.”
“You forget that I’ve spent quite a few Christmases in that period of history,” Doc pointed out as he wrapped the line of kernels around the tree. “Popcorn and candles were often the only decorations Clara and I had on our tree.”
“Really? You didn’t even have the colored balls?”
“Break too easily. Granted, given that we were sticking fire on a highly flammable evergreen, perhaps that was a moot point.”
Marty snickered, then smiled at the pine. “Yeah. . .but you know what? That actually looks pretty good.”
“Glad you approve, Future Boy.”

-TTV: *amused* And yet, somehow my time period makes it in.-
Well it's true! 1885 is technically part of the Victorian era! The time-traveling duo was just in America for it! Anyway, I figured I'd just throw up a little tree-decorating fluff. For some reason I really like the idea of popcorn strings. It just seems fun. (Bear in mind I've never actually had to MAKE a string.) And of course I had to poke fun at the whole "putting candles on something made of wood" business. Yes, I know, no electric lights or anything like that, but still. It's just in the name of good fun. :)

Another early night tonight -- got my class tomorrow, which means getting up at six. Ah well, it's only two days a week at present. Though it may be three days next week -- many of my tumblr friends have gone Frozen crazy, and I've come to the conclusion I need to see the movie sooner rather than later. I'm planning on going on Monday, since I'm unlikely to be called in to housesit (I was supposed to go today, but things happened that led to me staying home), and it'll probably be at least marginally less busy being a weekday. Also means I still get to sleep in normally on the weekend. Which is always nice. :) Hopefully the movie will be as good as everyone says.

Other news. . .not much. Still watching "Metro 2033" by Helloween, still writing Chapter 22 of "Forgetting You." Which turned out to be harder than expected today -- BOTH of the LPs I watch to help me write the stories correctly turned out to SKIP one of the memories I needed! Damn pig snout hiding in an unusual place. . .Eh, I found it by watching a "where all the memories are" video, so the first draft is cool. That plus me doing a preliminary check of LinkedIn (my workshop recommends making a profile on the site, I wanted to see what it looked like) and listening to "Let It Go" from Frozen (and another reason to see the movie, because the song is fantastic) and stuff like that led to me getting on tumblr late yet again. Really gotta do something about that. . .fortunately I'm all caught up on tags for the moment, so yay on that front. Won't stay caught up for long, though, I'm sure, so time to go again! See ya later!
