Backflip Is Encouraging My Addiction
Feb. 7th, 2014 10:45 pmNew dragons have been released! We now have Snowy Olympus (in Bronze, Silver, and Gold) to go along with our regular Olympus. From what I can see in the market, the habitat's also received a layer of snow. Go Winter Olympics, I suppose.
Not much else to report -- I've been moving around dragons to put them all in their "ideal" (aka the one where they can earn me the most money) habitats and on the right islands. I've got pretty much everyone all set at the moment, to the point where I ended up emptying out the small Air habitat and selling it back for a quarter-million. I also hatched my Rose and Love dragons -- Love came with the name Mimsy, while the Rose I named Attar (after attar of roses, which they use to make perfume). I also got a Snow dragon, which came with the name Fluffy. XD And Jethro and Elsa should be favoring me with a Steel later. I've also been breeding Biff and Ent in an attempt to get a Forest dragon -- no go so far. Ah well, just gotta keep trying. . .
I actually do find myself conflicted on something regarding the game, though. You see, I'm of a high enough level to buy a Giant Plant Habitat. This thing looks really cool, holds five dragons, AND earns a max of 50,000 dragoncash instead of the Large Plant's paltry 500. BUT -- it also costs 25 gems. Now, I can afford one -- hell, I can afford two, I've got 50 gems at the moment -- but I don't know if I should go for it or if I should continue saving my gems. My next step was going to be upgrading the breeding cave to reduce breeding times, but damn it, I really could use the cash. . . Decisions, decisions. . .
I dunno. I'm gonna go read about the Murder on the Midnight Plane over in Screencappery. (It's one of those Solve Your Own Adventure books.) Anybody want to weigh in, you're more than welcome to.

Milton won a Gold, threw Fuji into Earth.
Also had an "oh...duh!" moment. I'd asked on DV's Facebook if the Ouroboros dragon was limited or not and someone told me that if the dragon has an hourglass on the border (see Rose and Winter) then it's limited. If it doesn't, it's not (with the exception of the Gemstone dragons since the borders are different, but the birthstone ones are a given and I read on the Wiki when the ones like the Jet are available). I'd never noticed the hourglasses before, lol. So the Ouroboros is not limited, which is good. So as soon as I get the Rose or Amethyst I can work on other dragons.
As for the Giant Plant Habitat, I want to upgrade the Breeding Cave and Epic Breeding Island first and building up the gems for that will take a while (I have 91 as of right now). I actually have no urge to get the Giant habitats currently. *shrug*

Date: 2014-02-08 04:40 pm (UTC)Capsaicin won a Silver in Fire, and I just put Menolly into the Earth event.
Gana and Echo gave me another Snow, Elsa and Tidepool gave me another Iceberg, and an attempt for the Forest with Biff and Maurice is giving me another Moss. Ahh well, all salable eggs.
*nodnod* I see! So you can keep trying whenever you like, yay. :)
I have 53 thanks to Cap's Silver. I just think the Giant Plant looks cool -- and it would be nice to have another high earner. Though my Sun dragon just gave me a huge chunk of change, so that's nice. (I should actually try for more Treasure dragons -- that habitat can earn up to a million.)

Date: 2014-02-08 10:33 pm (UTC)My two Rainbow Habitats both hold a million, the Large Sun holds 1,250,000, the Seasonal holds 750,000 and the Large Metals I have hold 125,000 each so I'm not worried about cash. Especially since I'm working on getting the limiteds and I sell all the failed attempts (wow, that just sounds wrong, lol).

Date: 2014-02-09 12:44 am (UTC)Nice -- yeah, I can see you're not. I'm doing much the same -- my current goals are the Amethyst and Gold dragons, and lucky for me most of the failures sell for a decent amount of scratch (and if I get a Forge out of breeding Fire and Metal, hey, that's another one I need).
