Everything Is Awesome
Feb. 20th, 2014 11:02 pmSaw The LEGO Movie -- to my delight, it was indeed great goofy fun. :D I would totally recommend going to see it, especially if you're a LEGO fan. Ahhh, memories -- and I've still got my LEGO DeLorean to show off! I'll take some pictures of that tomorrow. :)
As going off to the mall meant I was out all day, there isn't much else to report. Brought my iPad Mini to see if there were any hotspots I could take advantage of -- there were, but I couldn't take much advantage of them. So not really worth bringing it along on those trips. Though I could play Fruit Ninja without needing the net. And those times I was able to connect allowed me brief check-ins with DragonVale. I wandered around Newbury's, but didn't see any must-buy stuff. I also started reading my Dragonlover's Guide to Pern book -- it's interesting, though more general/less-explainy than I expected. Still gives a good overview of Pern, though. The one thing that drives me nuts is that all the illustrations have dragons with diamond-tipped tails when the text CLEARLY SAYS they're forked. Can no one draw the dragons correctly?! Also I found the story about Impression to be a bit more creepy than charming, but I blame that on reading so much fanfic exploring the dark side of the process.
Speaking of dragons, I hatched my Amethyst last night! :D I have my first Gemstone dragon! It came with the name Flicker, but I went ahead and named it Amy after the protagonist of a favorite children's book of mine, The Ordinary Princess. And to add to my pleasure, Lavawing and Jethro finally cooperated, so I'm getting a Gold in about four days. :D I'm trying to get a Winter with Monty and Borogoves, but they're just giving me lots and lots of Glaciers. Meh. Still, this will give me two Epics in each habitat and a good way of earning the cashola. I also leveled up to 25, so I should probably get on hatching Light and Dark dragons and the various hybrids of each. Need to rearrange my parks a bit better before that, though. Need room for the new habitats! (Technically the Sixth Island is now available, but I'm not nearly ready to purchase that yet.)
Okay, time to do some more catch-up. Later all!

Date: 2014-02-21 03:14 pm (UTC)Still moneymaking. I know I'll need like 60mil-ish just to level the Aquamarine breeders to 15 plus I'm gonna be trying like mad for the Clover so I'll be needing more there. My Moss Dragon is 11 and my Plant is 10 so I'll need to get them up. I'm not too concerned about the Spring because that should last at least until June. It's those surprise uber-limited dragons that I'm worried about. *gives DV the side-eye* Both my breeders decided to give me the long ones (Luminous and Copper) so I'm stuck there until tonight.
I'm at 36mil right now. I'll start making the treats closer to the end of the month so I'll be ready as soon as the Aquamarine goes live. I think once I get both the Aquamarine and the Clover I'll get the Fifth Island. I'm at 29 of 33 habitats right now and the next island that I have to decorate is the Earth/Metal one and I only need one more Metal Habitat for that one.
I'm just glad that the longest fail for both of them is only 14 hours (Mountain and Tree). Now for the Spring Dragon...well, then you have the 48-hour Sun/Moon to worry about. :/ But what I think I'm going to do there is Hail and Fire because one of the fails can be a Blue Fire, which is one I was trying for anyway so if I get it while trying for the Spring, then yay.
I want to try for a Seasonal eventually, too. I think I'll try Motley and Air because there's no chance for a Rainbow or Double Rainbow there and the longest fail is the 14-hour Smoke.
Look, Ma, I'm strategizing!! :p
Ooh, I just realized I can now have 10 Treat Farms...*gets another* Okay now I'm down to 35mil but I'll make that up fast. The max Treat Farms you can have is 11, which is at Level 28. I think I'll make room for it when I decorate the next island and leave the space empty until then. I don't want to be hunting for my Treat Farms when I need them, lol. Six on the First Island, three on the Planeteer Island and eventually two on what will be the *checks chart* Third Island.

Date: 2014-02-21 05:06 pm (UTC)*nods* I just leveled both Borogoves and Everest up to 13 to see if that gave me any advantage in getting the Winter. . .buuuut I think I'm getting another Glacier. Meeeeh. At least they sell for a better price than the Trees and Mosses I get whenever my attempts to get a Forest fail. And yeah, those are definitely the ones you should watch out for. At least they're kind enough to let us know in the News section if something new pops up. And we've already noticed they can lag a little in taking these ultra-limited rares out of the market. . .
I'm at 21 mil myself, and 26 of 33 habitats. I should probably focus on getting Light dragons next, since I have the large habitat for them. I've already got every dragon in its perfect habitat apart from Solder (my Scorch -- Lightning instead of Fire) and Army (Scoria -- Earth instead of Metal). I won't bother getting a new Large Metal until I actually start breeding more Metal hybrids. I'm thinking that I might go ahead and use 25 gems to get a Giant Plant habitat and put all my highest earners in that (I'm up to 132 gems, so it won't be too bad of a hit). I also want a Seasonal dragon (hence why I'm trying for the Winter), and at some point I want an Olympus dragon. Hail and Fire sounds like a good plan for the Spring -- I might use that myself. Strategy is a good thing! :D
I haven't gotten any more treat farms yet, but that's just because I'd like to have them all lumped together and there currently isn't any more room on the Tourist trap. Eleven treat farms, eh? Interesting. Must makes plans for that.

Date: 2014-02-21 06:50 pm (UTC)Oh, and apparently the level cap is now 55 and there will be a Tenth Island to be summoned (though people are complaining that the Habitat cap seems to still only be 53). And there's a Light Dragon Boost and the Dark will unlock at Level 26. That reminds me...I still need a Dark Dragon...yeah I'll still wait on that front.
Naturally just as soon as I figure out my strategy, DV updates and derails it. :/

Date: 2014-02-21 07:29 pm (UTC)O.O *EVEN MORE CONFUSED* Wait, what?! How much shit is there?! Light boosts? Whaaaah? DRAGONVALE WHAT ARE YOU DOING? (I approve of your decision to leave Dark Dragons for now, though -- I'm doing the same until I get the big habitat.)
