Lincoln Adventure Went Well!

Despite a possibly- ominous beginning when the bus I was taking up to Kennedy Plaza got a flat tire. . .fortunately it was the work of moments to switch to a fresh bus, and I arrived there only a couple of minutes late. And since there was about twenty minutes between buses built in. . .

Caught the 54 up to the Lincoln campus without any trouble, then started wandering around, familiarizing myself with the place and finding out where I needed to go. Took my placement test -- which turned out to be a grade-school-level scantron thing -- took a typing test -- which I've already gotten a certificate for when it comes to fast typing -- and registered. So yeah, I've got that going on starting next Monday. It may be grueling, but I can only hope it helps. And I managed to get in a little computer time before doing the bus swap home -- got a bit of editing done on the next chapter of "Forgetting You." Yay for that.

Sad other news: Harold Ramis, the man you probably know best as Egon Spengler, died today. I found out while trying to catch up on tumblr after so long off it. I came across a photoset of him as Egon, grinned because hey, favorite Ghostbuster -- and then saw "RIP" at the bottom. Talk about a punch to the gut. :( Only 69 too, jeez. . . Rest in Peace, Mr. Ramis.

Happy other news: I am full of dragon happiness in DragonVale. My Gold hatched this afternoon -- he came with the name Drachma, which is the unit of currency they used in Ancient Greece -- and a little help from Kairos hatched both my Light (who came with the name Scales -- I changed it to Lumen, which I'm pretty sure Gigs used for a dragon too? O.o) and my Victory (Theseus -- wasn't about to change that). I'll put up pictures tomorrow. I also did some breeding experiments -- Borogoves and Monty yielded nothing but a Glacier and a Mountain, but Fluffy and Geo are giving me the Winter I want! Now if only I could get a Forest out of my Plant/Earth combos instead of all these Trees. . .

Anyway, I have stuff to answer on tumblr. Night all!

Egon was my favorite, too. I daresay I had a bit of a crush on him, yet he never became one of AL's guys. Go figure. *shrug*

Yes, my Light is Lumen (formerly Lum before I realized I borked the spelling, lol). So I think that makes 3 name-shares we have? Lumen, Monty and Fafnir?

So Kwame won a Silver. Threw Bruce into Metal.

Rooty's now level 15 so that just leaves Tropius, who is still busy making money. Since the Victory was done I stuck Jimmy and Ozzy back together to help (and they decided to give me the 20-hour Copper first).

The Moon will hatch sometime this afternoon and the Victory still has 30 hours before it hatches, so sometime tomorrow.

What I think I'm gonna do is once Tropius is at 15 and I have the funds to do it I'm gonna get and clear the Fifth Island. My reasoning is that okay I have four Islands right now (First, Planeteer, Second and Third is how I think of them). My Third Island is where I've put everything that doesn't have a place yet, which is the Large Sun, small Moon, Seasonal and Olympus Habitats plus two small Rainbows, three Large Earths, a Large Metal, small Light, Large Water and three Plants (two Large and a small) plus the unused boosts and a wayward Treat Farm. My Third Island is so ridiculously crowded that I don't think I can stick anything else there at the moment (unless it's reeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyy small). So once I get and clear the Fifth Island I can set up the chart's Island 3 (or start to at any rate) and give my guys some room to breathe.

So for shiggles I looked up the Tenth Island. Unlocks at level 45, 1,000,000,000DC to buy it, 54 hours (so like two and a quarter days) to wait for it to be summoned and 88,896,800DC to clear it. :/ The Habitat cap seems to have been raised to 55, too, but you need to be level 55 in order to get it.

Edit: The Moon dragon came with the name Tidus, which sounds like tidal and the moon affects the tide, so I kept it. :)

Me too. And I loved him and Janine together in the first movie. I always wished they'd kept in his awkward line from the script when she goes to hug him after admitting she's scared he's gonna die: "You have nice -- clavicles." Oh Egon. XD We're gonna miss you.

Thank you! The egg is cooking in the nursery now -- it'll hatch around 10:30 AM tomorrow, so I'm gonna make the habitat overnight (even if it only takes four hours). And yes, I believe so -- though in this case I'm pretty sure I stole it off you. ^^; Subconsciously, at least, because at first I was thinking of the word "luminous," but then it changed to that. . .though I suppose I could make mine Lumin.

Good for Kwame. I'm not really keeping close track of my Colosseum events, but I've been getting good results. Waiting for Vulcan to finish up his time in Fire.

Nice, I see. I gotta grow up Lumen/Lumin and start making Light hybrids -- and build the Light boost. I made a Giant Fire habitat and sold one of the smaller ones to assist in gathering more cashola. I sympathize with your crowded conditions on the Third island -- my Fire/Lightning island is looking a little over-full too. I had a hard time getting all my larger habitats to fit. I'm not getting the next island anytime soon, though, so I'll figure out how to make things work. I'm working on seeing if I can get another Olympus dragon or two, and once I have the habitat set up I might try for a regular Seasonal.

Cripes -- they really make you work for that Tenth one, don't they? On the other hand, more room is always nice, even if we're not getting that many more habitats to place. Still, I'm having enough trouble finding spots for all my current ones, soooo. . .
