Made The Mistake of TV Tropes

Lost pretty much my entire afternoon to it, with brief breaks to check up on DragonVale. At least I got some writing/editing done in the morning -- even if I did wake up a bit late. Ah well.

Well, with that in mind, let me just share my latest dragon pictures with you all:


My adult Gold! A lot easier to see him now, huh? XD Eventually I will try to give him and Franklin another friend and round out the habitat.


My adult Victory! He looks a bit weird, but I think he's growing on me. His curlycue body is pretty neat. :)


My adult Light -- who is currently breeding with Flitvine and producing a Luminous. XD He looks pretty cool all grown up, though. Light dragons be awesome dragons.


The newest addition to our little park -- my Winter dragon! :D I named it Daenerys, after the dragon lady of "Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire." Because a)I reblog her and her dragons plenty on tumblr for Weyr Wednesday, and b)the description is full of puns on that series anyway.


And the piece de resistance -- my first Opposite dragon! It's a Frostfire, courtesy of Elsa and Attar. I got that from a last-minute late-night breed yesterday. I'm building a second Cold habitat on the Plant/Water island for it to live without being hit negatively by a boost. And I have the perfect name for it:

SNOWFLAAAAAAAAAME! XD XD XD

Look, I'm a huge Linkara fan, it HAS to be done. XD (And I should see about naming a dragon Linkara at some point too. Hmmm. . .)

I think once Tropius and Lumen are done with this Meadow they're making me, I'll have made enough food to get Tropius to 15 and then it's just a matter of saving up...*checks* 15,272,100DC to get and clear the Fifth Island. Current total is 4,268,221DC and I have a Meadow and Willow to sell plus the Meadow and whatever 8-hour something Crue and Slythe decided to give me.

I can use Kairos in about 3 hours so so I'm gonna to speed up some stuff.

I was just wondering what on earth I was going to name it when it hit me. XD w0000

I've been getting Silvers lately, but hopefully Misty can turn that trend around. I just hatched my Luminous -- named it Glowy -- and I've got an Ember incubating. I'm gonna do a Light/Cold dragon next.

Okie-dokie! I'm still nowhere near getting the Sixth Island, but I'm not too worried about it. I'm just gonna breed as many crossovers as I can. (. . .which sounds much like my life in fanfic, to be honest. XD)

*looks up results from Light/Cold* Ooh...Glare and Phantom. *snerk* When I get a Phantom dragon when I have room for them, it's most definitely going to be named Erik, lol.

BWAHAHAHA!!! Oh, yes it totally does! LOL! Not that that's a bad thing. :D Yours is the only fanfiction I've written fanfiction of. :p

Ooooh. :D I might name mine Gutknecht or something. (Bryllyg was actually a great candidate for that too, but I have trouble turning down names from "Jabberwocky." XD)

Backflip popped up a link to a customer satisfaction survey when I last opened the game via one of those little pop-up notifications. One section was about stuff they're wondering if we'd like to see, like flying-based races, dragon-fighting, trading dragons, and teaching dragons tricks. Wouldn't that be awesome, having more interactivity with the dragons themselves? :D (Also, there's your chance to tell them 'stop it with all the ultra-limiteds, I can't keep up.' :P)

Ooh, I'll keep an eye out for something like that. I was actually thinking of an enhancement. In the latest Pokemon games (X and Y) there's this feature called Pokemon-Amie, where you can pet your Pokemon, feed them little cakes and play games in order to raise your friendship with them and when it's maxxed out your Pokemon will earn EXP faster, shake off status ailments like poison, and endure a KO hit just because they like you (and it has funny effects like if you try to pet a Pikachu on the cheeks it'll shock you). Since DV is played on touch-screen devices, I thought it'd be neat if it had something similar. Like you pick a dragon and then you can interact with it by petting it and stuff. I may put that to BFS if I get that notification. :D

She thinks they're awesome -- but she's glad there's no actual Jabberwock in the game. Can't say I blame her, since that asshole is a bitch to fight.

It'll be pretty obvious, it covers the whole loading screen -- just hit the "go" button when it comes up. And ahhh, I see! Yeah, the option included petting them and stuff like that. It would be pretty cool to see something like that in DragonVale, especially since -- as you say -- it's touchscreen. :) Part of the reason I did, and still do, so many races is because it's the best way to be interactive with my dragons. I like rearranging habitats and stuff, but it would be fun to actually play with the creatures inside.
