I Really, Really Hate This Weather

April showers bring fuck-all but annoyance in my experience. Especially when every stop you wait for the bus at is outside. This morning wasn't so bad -- I was only out for a moment, and the rain was barely a drizzle -- but this afternoon? It wasn't the rain that was so bad as the WIND. Gusting from all directions, and every time it did you got deluged by a new flood of wet. I had to open my umbrella IN THE BUS SHELTER of Lincoln Campus to keep even marginally dry. And when we got to Kennedy, it took me three tries to actually get over to my stop because every time I tried, the wind would turn my umbrella inside-out and I'd have to rush back to that little roofed bit to turn it back the right-side out. Eventually I just closed it for a few minutes, used my coat as a cover, and made a dash for it. Ugh -- about ten minutes total out in that muck, and I still managed to look close to a drowned rat. (Didn't help at all that the bus was humid -- or driven by someone who was used to the 66 route and nearly took us in the wrong direction.) Add to that I'm really tired today and I am not a happy Vicky.

I should note some minor instances of productivity. I made my muffins for breakfast, and I continue to work on "In the Land of the Dead." Before anybody asks, I have no idea when it's going up -- I haven't even finished it yet, soooo. . . But I will try to start it before summer does. (Should I aim for getting the first chapter edited and up by Alice's birthday? Would be a hell of a weird present, but. . .) And I actually did keep up on RP tags for a while on tumblr, though I've recently had to call it on account of said tired. Ah well -- I'll lurk and maybe get a draft or two done for tomorrow morning's queue. I should also get my DW RPing done too, though I think everybody's getting one reply only. Again, tiiiired. . . I blame staying up a bit too late and the hot/cold thing it's been doing, leading to ME being hot/cold at night. Murgh.

Obligatory DragonVale update -- up to Level 32, which means I now have a Giant Metal habitat. :) Consequently, the Large Metal Habitat with the Lightning dragons is back on the Lightning/Dark island, ready to receive Dark dragons when I get those. Working on the first Ovalith dragon reward. I've been looking up stuff on the Magic Egg Hunt, and people are hinting that, even if you get the maximum number of eggs per day, the Lost Island may still be out of reach unless you buy some. :( I really hope that's not true -- I can't really afford to spend money on this game, and I'd quite like the island. At least I can be reasonably assured of getting the Ovalith dragons.

Anyway -- should answer some comments, then try to get to sleep on-time for once. Night all!

Did you get any snow? We got snow that by this morning turned to ice. In April. Now I know how Kristen feels. :/

Oh, look...last call for the Lunar Eclipse. I'm good.

Sooo...who the hell did I put in the last event? *checks comments from yesterday* Geoff. So Geoff won a Gold and I threw Dusty into Air.

My line for the first Ovalith Dragon is only like a quarter of the way in right now. I saw on the DV Facebook that the event will last until the 27th, so the Sunday after Easter. I may have a chance to get the dragon but I'm not too sure I'll get anything else by then unless they do something like give out double the eggs for whatever reason. The way these eggs are given out is just ridiculous. I've said it before...I'm pretty sure they want people to spend real money on this thing and I suppose real, like, hardcore players would. But then there's you and me who may be obsessed with the thing but not enough to spend actual real money on it. Just...no. There's always next year (and the year after that and the year after that if the interest lasts that long...).

I have to stop myself from spending ALL THE MONIES to make Bean Stalks for the egg collecting. The very cheap Dragon Snaps work just fine and then I can save the rest for the Seventh Island. I need it to get Borogoves and his Boost away from Luster and Linka.

I'm just gonna keep profit breeding for now. Seventh Island shall be priority until the next Limited Dragon, Terradiem or otherwise, is released.

I dunno if it was snow or just a bit of slushy ice that formed overnight, but we did indeed wake up to scattered patches of white. >.< WE HAVE OFFICIALLY PASSED THE HALFWAY POINT OF APRIL, THIS SHIT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING.

So am I -- feels good not to worry about a Last Call. :P

I got a Silver from Bryllyg, and Bloom's competing in the Cold.

I'm SLOWLY approaching the halfway mark on mine, I think -- I'm pretty sure I'll get at least the first one. And yeah, I know, I've seen some complaints that you can only get the ultimate prize by spending money. On the one hand, I suppose I do understand -- Backflip's a company after all, and they do have to make money -- but on the other, it is kind of annoying. *patpat* Ah well. From what I heard, they DID do Double Magic weekends during the Magic Event, so maybe we'll get Double Egg weekends.

*snork* Yeah, you see, I'm much better about restraining myself in that regard. Blushrooms, Pumpermelons, and Zazzberries for me! Also gradually clearing off my Seventh island -- 5 items at a time feels weird, but why waste egg-gathering capabilities?
