Out of Season Gemstones Get!

crossover_chickThe Garnet is in my nursery, and I squeaked in a Turquoise this morning before the release ended. :) Those are the two I wanted most, so I'm very glad to have scored them. Two less dragons to breed in the future! Now I get to work on my Dark hybrids, starting with throwing Jabber (my Dark dragon) and Flitvine together. We'll see what results!
Not too much else to say -- worked some on editing Chapter 2 of "Forgetting You" for the Blu-Ray edition, got my arse kicked in Hearthstone via Shaman (I need to check if that Windfury card is Shaman-exclusive. . .), did tags on tumblr. I also got up another page of my website: Food and Drink spells! Only three, but they cover the basics pretty handily. I also tweaked the landing page a bit, which was a pain in the fucking ass thanks to the way that section next to the header picture handles. Trying to get the text up to a more readable size took FOREVER! *shakehead* Darn it, Weebly, I want to like you. . .
Anyway -- I've got my Dreamwidth stuff to attend to now, and then I'm thinking of having an ice cream sandwich and watching Linkara. Or maybe the other way around. Either way, the rest of you have a good evening!

Anyways, Turquoise is still in the Nursery and will hatch later tonight and that dratted Double Rainbow is still incubating.
I'm currently profit breeding only because I forgot I'd put my Plasma into the Colosseum and he's needed for the Jade. Since Tropius and Lumen will be done making an egg before Neon is done in the Colosseum, I'll just profit breed the rest of the day and once Trace and Blitzen are done with the Double Rainbow (in 17 hours...ugh) I'll put Neon and Mari together and try for the Jade again. So, like, tomorrow. I'm glad it's a quarterly Gemstone and not a monthly...
DC is 225,735,680 and gems is 133.
Oh, I've made a list of every dragon currently in the game and I'm grouping them by their primary elements (like Air/Fire like a Blazing vs. Fire/Air like a Smoke for example) and listing the weaknesses with the intention of a permanent redesign of my Islands with spaces for everyone when I eventually get them. Yay for Excel and it's sorting abilities, lol. I'm grouping the Opposites by themselves. Call me crazy, but it's kind of fun! :D
Edit: Well, here's what I figured out by grouping the dragons like that. The limited dragons Paper, Gift and Panlong all have opposite elements in them (if there's more I haven't spotted them yet). Paper is Fire/Plant/Earth/Cold (Fire and Cold), Gift is Plant/Fire/Cold (ditto) and Panlong is Water/Earth/Fire/Air (Earth and Air) so my "group dragons by primary elements" idea won't work with them if I want to give them a positive boost. According to the Wiki, Panlong is or was the fastest cash earner in the game when it has two positive boosts, so Water and Fire is the only pairing that would work. However, that would negatively impact the Scorch due to its Lightning element and thus it couldn't live with the Fire Boost, it would have to live with Lightning.
So that idea is out. Unless by "group by primary element" I meant "stick primary Fires into Fire Habitat, primary Waters into Water, etc.", lol (which I think I did mean, actually...). Blitzen could live in a Fire Habitat with the Lightning Boost. ^^ Hm...if Panlong is primary Water, I wonder if it swims? Guess we'll find out at the end of the year.
Well, that's what I came up with. I want the Eighth Island before I start thinking about redecorating. :)
Edit x2: Well damn I forgot Neon was in the Colosseum at lunch because I wanted to watch Sailor Moon on Hulu so bad. He won a Gold and I put Avon into Water. *sigh* These Colosseum runs get later and later...

Both my Garnet and my Turquoise are in the nursery, which caused some problems earlier when I had two breeding pairs stuck there thanks to the slots being full. Jabber and Elsa and Lavawing and Jethro had to wait a few hours before I could put their eggs in! >.< Annoying, but at least we're good now. Though I'm not breeding until I've knocked some more time off the ones currently in there.
Indeed -- last call for the Sprout and the Bouquet was today, did you see? Glad I got mine! My emphasis is gonna be on breeding Dark hybrids -- I hatched a Fungus earlier, which I have named Shroom, and I've got one of the Cold/Dark hybrids in the nursery. I'll also probably try for the newer hybrids -- maybe make a go at the Orchid. Also need to work on the Plasma, but as Jade is a quarterly and not a monthly, that's not top priority just yet.

Huh. Interesting. *makes note to put Paper and Gift on Opposite Island -- which is what she might make the Eighth* I'll deal with the Panlong if/when it becomes available. It's tough trying to figure out the best place to put all these dragons, isn't it? Especially if you want to maximize profits. . .
It's okay -- mine now cycles at 5:15 thanks to me slipping up this weekend. Incidentally, Doc won Silver, and I've got Tidepool in Water.

Though I feel a little bad for Amanda (the girl from work I told you was going to start playing) since she's nowhere near being able to breed some of the limiteds yet. She's only level 11 with 7 dragons. Incidentally, I wish you could see what other people have named their dragons instead of just showing the type when you visit their parks. At least that's what it does on Droids. Anyways, I'm sending her a gem every day. I told her to hoard them until she needs them, lol.

I KNOW! And I like the way I have my Islands right now, but I do want to do Fire and Water for the Panlong when I get it. But, like I said, I'll worry about that when I get the Eighth Island.
So my Turquoise came with the name Crystal, which is my Hail's name. I decided to name her after someone whose birthday is in December. She's a fabulous writer, a great friend, she lets me play around with her universes and she's responsible for this whole mess I'm in. Yeah, my Turquoise is named after you. :p

I remember when Trees and Lavas were a huge deal. :P Ah well, she'll get there! And yes, it's the same with iDevices -- and I agree. It would be great to see what people have named their dragons. *shrug* Ah well. Heh -- you're a good dragon enabler. :p

Date: 2014-05-21 12:05 pm (UTC)I could send you a copy of the spreadsheet I made if you want. I just need to know what version of Excel you have; I made it on 2007 but it can be saved in compatibility mode for versions 97-2003 if you have something older.
From what I read on the Wiki, the Panlong is more of an end-of-year dragon being released in January and December the past two years, so I think you're safe. :)
Well considering I call you "V" more than I do any variation of "Victoria" (and yes the Turquoise has one letter as a name, lol), I think that's fair. ^^v

I DID download Open Office, which has Calc, which might be able to open Excel files. . .but I really don't know. It's okay, really -- I'm not married to the idea of everyone in their "ideal" habitat (largely because I plan to get more Giants, which earn more anyway).
Ahhh, I see -- well then. :P
LOL -- it's funny the names we come up with for our friends. I know I find it very weird to think of Moose as "Monica."
